My bad, Matt Cummings (heh) is the artist. Dude's style looks very feminine. Kate Leth I know by name, mostly because she was one of those webcomic people who inexplicably made it big when people started noticing webcomics for a few years. So there was this brief window where people who are shit compared to webcomic creators today got hoisted on pedestals. My best guess is that Cummings (heh) was trying to be defiant and leaned into the Tumblr shit, but like 99% of people who telegraph exactly how rustled they are, it doesn't work. It's just exactly what the memes were about in the first place. Reading the comic now, BTW. It fricking blows me away that people like this are able to continue getting work. It's all just zero effort. Phoned in. Half the people on this board could write a better comic with their eyes closed, and the other half could do the art.
Come to think about it, Cummings and Kate leth are literally the manchild and quirk chungus. Cummings is capable of doing a reasonable western copy of shojo or clamp, but not for western page rates. I think it's funny that he doesn't put that comic on his portfolo site.
