Nta but no. The entire sex addict thing is made up by her husband who writes a novel about her based on his own paranoid delusions. It's a book within a book. Much better than the shitty movie. The whole brain into goat thing was also just some needless sadism made up entirely by the movie script. The movie revels in pornography and sadism. The book doesn't.
It's really bad.
The only thing it has going for it is its The cat in the hat aesthetic rip-off, experimental cinematography and the actors are fine. But the story and theme says and does nothing interesting, I got the vibes that it was written by a dropout who thinks he's smart for reading Freud or something, get the same vibes from Ari Aster movies, just plain bad and disorienting, especially with the constant bad music put there literally to disorient you. The costume/set design was incredible, and the idea that a chauvinist only wants an infantilized woman is poignant, but the sex worker stuff really glamorizes how deprived the industry really is. It wouldn’t be pretty to see the protagonist get syphilis and cope with an opioid addiction.
Sex workers are the lowest tier of society and face the most danger.

The movie had such a good premise and could do a lot to be a modern frankenstein but what we get was

The pacing was awful. They spent 2 hours on the sex stuff when it could have been wrapped up in 1/3 of that time.
Then they had no time at the end to do the character development stuff, so in the final 15 mins she goes home, confronts god, gets married, gets abducted by her ex, murders him, concocts a plan to perform a horrific experiment on him out of revenge, then lives happily ever after etc.
Does this movie have the worst soundtrack in history? It's gotta be up there.

While the movie did have some really great composition, and while Lanthimos does always put a lot of sex farce in his movies, when such farces take up almost 1/2 of the runtime it just becomes kinda tiresome
