The last TPB I purchased was, however, mint but second hand and from a stores that's mostly records but has a small book area inside.

Do you actually buy Comics?
The only floppies I've technically purchased are a handful of those stupid MTS Page Punchers 3-4" figures which come with comes, which I all bought on sale (some for as little as $3 each) and only four of those in total, and all of which I turned around and listed just the floppy on EBAY.
>but I refuse to buy some comics I really like because of recolors.
Sadly I had to take the recolored bit of Sandman for my Absolute editions. Thankfully it's just a small part and I've got the old TPB with the original colors, but it's crazy how much more sterile it looks in the Absolute. Fantastical colors are fine when your setting is hell, actually!
If I think the series is worth supporting yes. I'm more likely to buy Indie or Image to support specific series if i like them, Rogue Sun right now is one of those. But I stopped buying monthly from Big 2 a long while ago. After I got my first job at 16 I'd spend like 60-70$ a month just to keep up reading multiple series and I could have been saving that money by reading scans which is mostly what I do now while spending money on series I think are worth it.
I don't buy floppies for the same reason I don't read Charles Dickens cut up into chapters published weekly in a newspaper. The comic industry needs to give up that system and let stories be a hit or failure based on the full story released in book format, instead of relying on stringing people along for issue after issue with nothing but cliffhangers, twists and outrage farming.
The comics auctions are a huge scam driven by self-bidders and shill-bidders on Heritage. The chance of reselling anything there is virtually non-existent.
Comics as in floppies? lolno
Comics as in hardcover collected editions? Occasionally, if it's something I enjoyed to a degree where I actually want to support it. I'm still mad I can't get the hardcover Steve Lichman books without paying the scalpers fee, which I refuse to.
I used to have DC comics, because Mexico licensed it in my country,
But they failed catastrophically.
Now I buy the trades online, I used to use Book depository but now that it's closed I use AbeBooks.
I usually get Batman and any other one that I find interesting. My latest one was I hate fairy land.
But yeah I usually check online first, to see if I like it.
I used to. Then comics became too pozzed. I vote with my wallet. The basically everything I used to read went to complete shit to the point I didn't even want to steal them. Now I just watch the husk of comics on Cinemaphile dry up as I wait for its last gasp.
Though I do still keep up with Sonic, but that's pretty shit now too.
I only have physical stuff of Luther Strode, Scott Pilgrim, Sun Ken Rock, and Fist of the North Star. If I'm in the mood for superheroes I read them online on one of the free websites, I've been reading Geoff Johns Green Lantern Secret Orgin, gonna read some Hal stories then dive into Kyle Rayner, then I may read some retellings of Barry Allen's story too and read some Flash/Wally stuff. I want to build up the characters in my headcanon then see it all come together in Grant Morrison's JLA run which I heard was good, I've always liked superheroes but never took the time to read, I'm still going at a snails pace honestly
>mfw I got one of the Folio Edition Jane Austen books for Christmas
It's a very nice present but now I have to focus on just buying the other books in that collection, so they don't end up going out of print on me.
sure, but not regularly. I typically read them online first and if I really like them, I'll order them (no comic shops in my country, so I have to reply on ebay and find sellers who have decent shipping prices).
>More content for your money
agree, but only with the big hardcovers. The smaller paperbacks imho are rarely worth the money, you're basically done with them in ~10 minutes. I'm not saying this in comparison to the average comic issues, which 100% are overpriced, but actual paperback books.
only if I really like them
Comics? No. Graphic Novels™? Yes.
TRUTH

I got the tpb of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/TMNT II off Amazon a few days ago, i've only read the first few pages so far though.
I buy manga. Better stories, sexier gals.
Yes, but rarely.
I'm not the recolors guy, but I refuse to buy some comics I really like because of recolors.
I don't like buying manga because they're almost always more than one tome, and most of them are fricking small.
>but I refuse to buy some comics I really like because of recolors.

huh?
I can literally look up and read any comic I want for free, and I don't even do that. Also, I'm not a hoarder.
Floppies? No
Trades? Yes.
Yes, carrefour comicbook promos come really handy.
Usually as gifts for friends or library donations
Not in the best position to set up a pull list right now
only if I can't find them online

What’s your favorite Dickens, anon. Mine is probably Little Dorrit or Our Mutual Friend.
Sure. If there was a shelf thread up, I'd post what I got this week
yeah
looking to bid on some local auctions as well, then resell what I don't want.
The comics auctions are a huge scam driven by self-bidders and shill-bidders on Heritage. The chance of reselling anything there is virtually non-existent.
not talking about heritage
They're still the ones inflating the prices. Valuable comics are highly overpriced and only of interest to speculators who don't know better.
heavens no, I just by trades that I like when they are on sale.

I get TPBs from the library because I don't like the digital reading experience.
I used to have DC comics, because Mexico licensed it in my country,

Only stuff I've read online and want to reread in the future.

Nah I just enjoy the storytimes.
>buy comics
>buy
Big 2? Not really, it has to be some special one-off thing like Chiang's Lonely City or Rugg's Hulk.
But I do frequently buy "indie" comics from fanta, drawn, local indie comic shop, creators themselves, etc.
World's Finest is the only big 2 book I buy each month. Stick to indie books and collected editions for the most part.
I used to. Then comics became too pozzed. I vote with my wallet. The basically everything I used to read went to complete shit to the point I didn't even want to steal them. Now I just watch the husk of comics on Cinemaphile dry up as I wait for its last gasp.

Mostly hard cover collections. Most are of indies. No capeshit, not ever, not anymore.
I only have physical stuff of Luther Strode, Scott Pilgrim, Sun Ken Rock, and Fist of the North Star. I buy all kinds of books. Except comic books.

Yes, but rarely.
frick no
Yes, why?
Mostly hardcovers, but I've got a little more than 2 shortboxes full.
I need to get a third sometime.
Yes, reprints of western comics and manga, which I guess are reprints too.
buy?
I usually buy manga. More content for your money, plus they're all the same format and looks nice on your shelf.
sure, but not regularly. I typically read them online first and if I really like them, I'll order them (no comic shops in my country, so I have to reply on ebay and find sellers who have decent shipping prices).

Have you considered aquiring some standards and not read shonenshit?
but anon, I'm not talking about shonen 🙂
>hinamatsuri
The last tanko came out like a month ago.
>OP 1-36
Your lack of commitment is disgusting.
Yes but not as much as I use to.
Nope. I've yet to read a comic that makes me think, "i want to own this physically".
I buy trades, mostly of older stuff
Tbqh I only read comics online because they are rarely good enough for me to buy them physically, I only buy physical manga.
back issues
I only buy the Power Rangers comics
