I love Nightwing and think he gets a lot of great character moments, along with Morrison's Batman & Robin and Snyder's Black Mirror being two of the best Dick Grayson stories that exist- Absolutely none of the nightwing runs are "essential". Literally not a single one
>Catwoman
Thought it was Ram V run which was good. Tini Howard? Hard pass. >Batgirl
Haven't read this one, but I think no one liked Burnside. >Nightwing
Tom Taylors slice of life writing sucks. The art carries it. >Robin
Definitely >Red Hood
Definitely, but drop it when they split up, because the writing takes a nosedive later on >Batgirls
Passable
>explain the popularity of Nightwing
People really like Dick Grayson or rather they like the idea of him. His comics are always middling but his name carries clout, hence why he always sells. >Hell, explain the popularity of the Batfamily as a whole
Internet popularity =/= actual sales.
Because a lot of comics readers grow up with him which why his comics sells despite how usually mediocre they are or some of his fans just have bad taste.
Generally, I think Red Hood actually surpassed in popularity.
>Generally, I think Red Hood actually surpassed in popularity.
He did, but DC seem to be struggling to understand what people likes about him.

Was it? I thought many people disliked it.
You people seem to struggle to understand that comics have very small and shrinking audience because of how bad they are which has nothing to do with the characters popularity. The batfamily concept and the characters are pretty popular, but comics aren't.
It's not that bad, it's a cute read. If you're super invested in the characters 20 year histories you might hate it since it's meant to be sort of a fresh start.

>Black Mirror
This probably the only story about Dick that I actually liked it.

Thought it was Ram V run which was good. Tini Howard? Hard pass.

no. but i also know that it's a sales tactic so i don't disagree with their reasoning for saying they are.
>tini howard catwoman
Stopped reading there. I'd rather burn my money.
maybe red hood and nightwing.
If women don't read comic books, explain the popularity of Nightwing
Hell, explain the popularity of the Batfamily as a whole

Literally every single person I've ever met that loves Dick Grayson is either female or gay.
Television…
Most comic fans just watch Teen Titans, Young Justice, Titans or any of the other animation/live action adaptations of Nightwing and the Batfamily.
>Hell, explain the popularity of the Batfamily as a whole
Considering every Batfamily book has been cancelled, I wouldn’t call them popular.
Literally every book in the Op has been canned sans Nightwing and Catwoman (and Catwoman surviving is a mystery).

I've never read the Batgirls series, should I buy the trade?
It's not very good. The only good thing about it are the backgrounds.
