No. Max’s utility as a character was done after the bwahahahaha era ended. Him turning into a villain was the best reoccurring usage he had seen in ages. It brought him back to the spot light and made him more than just the comedic business huckster in the background.
He was the only good part of WW84. I would have been fine if he stayed around, plus the events in the movie would make sense that he tries to turn his life around and do something "good" and runs a super hero team like JLI
