    >20 year old movie has better CGI than current films

the artists probably enjoyed the purpose of the film. people who work on marvel films are probably just contracted/poached because they're some of the best to hire but don't give a frick about the films they're working on and do the bare minimum to get paid

First Ironman looked amazing. However, the quality of cgi took a nosedive after Disney integration just 1 year later.

Somewhat. I have accepted that it will happen even if I'd prefer it not to happen.

      >Well why don't you just fricking die then?
Even if you're curious about death, what would be the rush? You'll die eventually. May as well explore life while you can.

The CGI for Davey Jones is still very impressive. While LotR CGI is showing it's age he still looks fantastic.

Because CGI peaked in those years (2006 and 2009 with Avatar).
In LOTR, CGI was still in development. But Pirates of the Caribbean used cutting edge CGI only Disney had the money to fund back then.

Of course, Avatar 2 later came and blow everything out of the water but only Jimmy could be able to do that.

I find it amazing how PotC is so consistent as a movie franchise, being something based out of a Disneyland ride of all things.
Out of 5 movies, only one is shit while the first 4 are all very fun. Yeah 4 is good

            1 is a perfect movie.
2 has some great moments and the best cgi in cinema next to avatar. it falters for having a lack luster ending
3 is overtly bloated and things get a little stupid but the score and scope is amazing. sadly they put this green filter over a lot of the movie so shit i thought was cgi was actually practical.
4 is wasted opportunity. Based off a book, it had a great idea, take a book and mix it with potc but the magic was not there. It just needed gore back as director and a few more script pass overs
5 sucks ass. its so bad it undoes every character, jack is a moron in it when hes supposed to be super clever and william turning into a barnacle man is retarted since thats a plot hole

1 is the best of those movies
2 and 3 feel like a misdirection to me since I don't think the world saving plot and pirate politics fit with the tone of the first, but despite this I think they are very enjoyable too
4 is not only good but my second favorite and I'll die on this hill, I prefer the random adventure plot instead of the epic scale of the previous ones though I see some issues like many actors not returning
5 is a waste of many good ideas that also shits on the previous movies

CGI still looked ok in early 2010s. However, the industry started to hire the wrong artist for the wrong position after that.

Pan's Labyrinth looks really, really good (especially the scene with the guy who gets his face cut and he stitches it back together). Peak CGI.

That’s because they used animatronics. One of the only things guillermo was good about.

Oh that movie was peak visual effect. Everything looked seamless. And that was a lowbudgeted movie, almost 20 years ago. The fact that modern visual effect cannot achieve the same thing with hundred millions dollars is embarassing.

Personally, I think I will feel relieved knowing it's all over instead of having to prolong the suffering. I know that my animal instincts will probably kick in to try to fight for survival, but when my time comes I think that the human side of my brain will probably accept it.

Shut the FRICK up, no one fears and oblivion of non-existence. What people fear are those final moments of pain, realisation that your dreams were for nothing and worry of how your loved ones will feel. There is nothing unique about this statement.

Well they are still dogshit. I still pretend Pirates 1 is a stand alone movie. But they did have some really pretty CGI and and good look to them with a lot of practical effects.

No. I'm almost 40 and an Uber driver/failed musician. Many of my family and friends have already passed and so has my gf of the last 6 years.

However I still look 25 and am fit and handsome. Just very, very tired.

I am thankful for what I have and do not want death, but no I don't fear it either. I probably should.
