Yeah, more so than I thought I would. Is Helluva Boss worth watching? I heard that it went to shit but no one says why. On a side note, series Alastor > pilot Alastor.

There's a lot of reasons, but since the thread is about to die, I'll have to bump it first.

      >I heard that it went to shit but no one says why.
There's a lot of reasons, but since the thread is about to die, I'll have to bump it first.

First and foremost, the show sold itself on being a wacky sitcom that follows a group of demons running a business about assassinating people in the living world. The first episode expands on this from the pilot, and while the second breaks away a little bit, it still feels fairly episodic. By episode five, the plot has been lost, and we're now fully in gay owl drama territory. This continues until this day. Every character has either daddy issues, trouble communicating their feelings or both. Despite a lot of them learning some kind of lesson in an episode about their issues, they'll often go right back to how they were beforehand, leading a feeling of stagnation. Add in that it's months in between each episode, and the routine gets old. The music and one off characters are the only saving graces of the show at this point.

It's a mixed bag because it doesn't have a over arching plot like hazbin, so each episode is its own thing. Some episodes are fun and cool. Some episodes are characters sitting around crying. Some episodes are a mix of both. I think it serves as a companion piece to hazbin well enough. It doesn't hurt to check it out and enjoy some episodes instead of just hanging around here.

I watched the whole thing (I was on the road and bored), and I genuinely did not like it. I get why people like it, shipping wars are how media rolls, but it didn't stick. Keith David and the other guy-demon-thing at the bar was the only part of the show with any real heart, and the rest of the cast didn't do much for me. I also get that biblical knowledge isn't really a prerequisite to making a show using the basics of the idea, but the lack of actually using the weird inconsistencies in the faith was wasted. The songs also wore out their welcome pretty quick, right about the time the V chick suddenly burst into song during a board meeting for basically no reason like a Fred Astaire parody. Alastair also was pretty nonthreatening as well.

Never happened, dunno what episode you watched.
Velvette doesn't even start off her song number, Carmilla does a full verse and then Velvette responds.

Episode 3 then. Regardless of who started the number, the sudden (and unprompted) burst into song was silly.

It needed like 2 or 3 more episodes in the first season to pace itself better but overall yes

Apparently. If they really wanted to make bank they'd be coming out with little figures. And a hotel playset.

No, and while I'd like to say that I'm surprised that the anons of Cinemaphile have shit taste, I've been around long enough to know that the majority of fans here are only fans because they're coomers.

I sorta like it, sorta hate it, Half the characters are cool, and the other half are trying too hard to be edgey.

ALSO HOLY FRICK THE PERSPECTIVE ON THIS POSTER IS SO BAD IT's DRIVING ME NUTS.

Did I enjoy watching it? Yes. Is it a good show? Not really. A lot of the world is left unexplained. Few characters had any development. There were so many plot holes. I think the biggest problem is that the show itself doesn't actually care about the premise of there being a hotel that redeems sinners. All we know of it is that Charlie sometimes makes people do childish friendship exercises there.

Is it just me or are threads for Hasbin and Helluva slowing down?

That said to answer the question. No not really. I watch Hazbin and Helluva Boss to kill time as they are not big time commitments and are better animated media than watching ugly art style shit like Hilda, Amphibia, Owl House, etc. The only reason I stomach Hazbin and Helluva is the character designs are better to look at and they do have some amusing songs.

That aside the actual writing is awful. The main characters are genuinely unlikable and even if they seem likable remember even a "good" character like Moxxie is a bastard who kills the innocent. Even a "good" character like Charlie supports her friends having their souls enslaved by evil overlords. The characters are unlikable shit incarnate.

Eh, kind of. It's clearly a passion project that had to be refitted for commercial standards. I find the dialogue to go from cringy to serviceable, with one or two good scenes here and there. The songs are the most self- indulging aspect of the show and while I enjoyed several of them, I think they are a bit too much at times. Helluva Boss is more diegetic in how the musical numbers are added to the plot rather than characters just jumping into song in the middle of a serious conversation or out of nowhere like in Hazbin Hotel. I still appreciate the effort. I'd rather have something like this that is not meant for me, but I can still see the love and interests of the creators rather than the 100th generic adult comedic with boring artstyle and premise.

So if Adam does respawn in Hell (since he's a sinner & not a true angel) what would you want to see? Is there an iron gate to Heavens pearly gates?

    >pretends to give a shit about Charlie's hotel and therapy sessions to get back in and becomes a recurring member of the hotel

    >pretends to give a shit but ultimately realizes he likes hell (would require him to gain some mooks)

    >his angel mask becomes his new Demon face
    >hides in hotel to avoid angry mobs
    >reprise of Hell is forever sung by the demons to him
    VS
    >keeps his sexy (?) Human face and thus doesn't worry about mobs recognizing him
