Do you hate?
Nah, I prefer cartoons that are more appealing to my personal tastes. I seek more obscure animation.
is that why you made this thread? if so, which ones would you recommend?
I would recommend Kevin Spencer, Masameer, and Jimmy Two-Shoes. (Masameer in particular is a much better example of indie animation)
Lackadaisy doesn't get shilled as much as the others, does it?
Those aren't very good.
>Lackadaisy doesn't get shilled as much as the others, does it?
SaberShart shilled it a few times beforehand.
>Those aren't very good.
I'd say it all comes down to personal preference. Those shows are basically mine.
> Kevin Spencer
Horrible shitpost
>Jimmy Two shoes
Boring SpongeBob knockout
>Horrible shitpost
Not really. It's crude, but on the same level as something like South Park. (but better)
>Boring SpongeBob knockout
It's extremely tropey, sure, but you can't deny that Heloise carried the entire series.
Nah man a lot of what that anon says is true.
>Kevin Spencer
The newest Milhouse is a meme meme. Even the shitposter trolls won't even bother with it and that says quite a bit.
>Jimmy Two Shoes
A neutered Disney show trying to be Spongebob. I hnoestly wonder why they even bothered with it. One character that people wanna lust over doesn't carry a series. It just carries a coomer fanbase begging for more art commissions.
Are you saying Jez doesn't exist?
i like ren and stimpy
>Do you like Hazbin Hotel?
Yes.
>Do you like Murder Drones?
No. I wanted more Cliffside
>Do you like The Amazing Digital Circus?
Yes.
>Do you like Lackadaisy?
Never seen it.
Me too.
>I wanted more Cliffside
Sorry anon. Cliffside waan't actually that good, and most people only really cared for the spider-girl waifu and the cowgirl waifu. Murder Drones is 10x better, you have to let go of the nostalgia boner before it consumes you.
I just like western horror.
Humorous or not.
I watched them all and now the dirt won't come off.
I haven't watched a single second of the demon hotel show and yet somehow i know every detail about it and the lyrics to hell is forever please kill me
I saw the pilot and it was somehow even worse than Smiling Friends' pilot. At least Smiling Friends can actually be FUNNY sometimes. (Whenever it isn't full of friends from Oney's hugbox, anyway...)
11. There are 11 Hazbin threads up right now. I counted. At least the Dogshit Circus and Murder Troons clowns have the collective braincells to make a single thread.
Thank frick, or otherwise those other threads would be just as cancerous.
the entire board was digital circus for like a month when it released.
More like the entire internet, and it made me want to kill myself.
You wanted to have a nice day because people were talking about a cartoon a lot? Lol. Ok buddy.
Not literally, I was exaggerating to prove a point.
no one likes nucartoons FRICK OFF
This is not a Cinemaphile only problem. Almost all of the popular boards get completely butt fricked when the new FOTM drops. Jannies should be cleaning up the board but I assume they can't be bothered anymore.
Cinemaphile had 34 threads of the new Pokemon clone, and that's only counting the ones that were filtered, so you still have the stealth ones and the stealth horny ones.
I don't give a shit if you want to get your dopamine from the FOTM rush, just don't shit up the catalog. Seriously, creating duplicate threads should be bannable.
That's why I prefer to use this board for its intended purpose, and not just spout some braindead takes taken from elsewhere.
i am convinced the mods and jannies want this shithole to die. i don't blame them.
Why can't Cinemaphile have its own chan? That would be awesome right about now...
What do you even mean by that?
Why would you want that?
I mean, there's a separate weight gain imageboard. I'm certain that there can be one for cartoons and comics too.
I'm not saying it's impossible.
I'm asking what's your thought process to as why you want a dedicated image board.
I want it to serve as a refuge from all the "normies" shitting up this board. I'm tired of it all, and I just want to discuss cartoons.
This whole entire board is a disorganized mess, and we need "containment centers" for all that.
To post images on
>stealth horny ones
At least their horny threads are stealth. There are constant horny threads on Cinemaphile and they're not even subtle. There's a "giant asses" general every two days or so, giant tit generals, milf porn generals, borderline dickyposting, incest threads. Garbage that should definitely be in /trash/.
We're basically a shittier, limp-wristed version of /aco/ at this point.
That explains all the ecchi-tier "suggestive" stuff. moronic as frick...
By
>"stealth"
I meant filter-avoiding with "lustful" OP images.
No one has the creativity to create actual stealth threads anymore.
My problem isn't even with hornyness, the Internet was always horny. My problem is with lack of creativity, and that goes for porn and threads in general. Everything is stuck on repeat, same threads every day, every week.
That's what makes artists better than most people, because they actually HAVE creativity.
That hasn't been true for over two hundred years
I mean, artists can be dicks too, but they at least have some kind of vision. I'm not sure if that applies to every non-artist lamen.
That's not true nowadays. Everyone's fighting for the algorithm presence. Which is why you see FOTM trends that get over saturated in days. You also have bad artists that get elevated by the masses online, just because "funny", or because they're brain dead philistines cum-brains with no taste. Seriously there are some great artists out there that get completely overshadowed by these c**ts just because they're not drawing FOTM - Zelda, Chainsawman, Genshin and other gachas as examples.
Only 11? When it first started to air we were hitting 30+ and averaged 18-20 during the show's run. It was even worse when the circus show dropped, and most of those were just threads about wanting to frick the clown child.
At least you like a cartoon. I'm literally only here for comics.
I can like both comics AND cartoons. Though, I'm kinda Gaul trash...
>Hazbin
There's a lot of horny female writing. I'm not a horny female, but the art is ok... it's ok? Reminds me of some of the more raunchy adult swim shoes from way back when.
>Murder Drones
Haven't seen it
>Digital Circus
I enjoyed it. Had some cringe writing but also had some good writing. It could find its vibe.
>Do you like Lackadaisy?
Everyone likes Lackadaisy
I actually haven't seen Lackadaisy myself, all I know is that there's a vocal minority of people who won't shut the frick up about it.
Lackadaisy used to be one of Cinemaphile's staple webcomic recommendations that was more or less universally agreed to be enjoyable, so I expect there's a lot of built-in goodwill.
Well yeah, I'd rather not be solely negative and give critique where it's due.
>Do you like Hazbin Hotel?
I liked it. It's fun. I like it a lot more than Helluva Boss.
>Do you like Murder Drones?
Never seen it, doesn't appeal to me.
>Do you like The Amazing Digital Circus?
I found it boring. I probably won't watch further episodes.
>Do you like Lackadaisy?
Yes! I've been following the comic for a long time and the animations are just great.
>Tell me more about this... "coooooooooooooooooomiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic."
Lackadaisy is a long-running webcomic. It's been on hiatus since production of the cartoon, though.
At this point, I'm far too used to webcomics going on hiatus...
Being self employed fricking around drawing dancing cats all day is really hard work. You just don't understand.
She put her whole pussy into the art tbf. It's very detailed and period-accurate.
What do you do? What do you create? 🙂
A GIANT BUG
>Do you like Hazbin Hotel?
>Do you like Murder Drones?
>Do you like The Amazing Digital Circus?
>Do you like Lackadaisy?
OP is a little crybaby homosexual that gets upset when people talk about popular cartoons on a board where you talk about cartoons.
>Hazbin Hotel
Is meh. It isn't immediately as god-awful as Helluva Boss turned out to be, but it's not particularly great. Probably not going to be interested in any further seasons, and considering how long it took for the first season to get made that won't be for a while.
>Murder Drones
I like it a lot, it's a pretty good show and one of the better indie webtoons out there. Good animation, nice visuals, excellent music and an interesting mystery-heavy story. Still waiting for more.
>The Amazing Digital Circus
I don't have an exceptionally detailed opinion from just the Pilot alone. Refraining from saying anything about its sudden viral popularity and exploding across the internet, it's got nice looking animation and has potential with more episodes. I can't say whether or not I'd watch the actual show, the pilot was alright I suppose.
>Lackadaisy
I liked it. Some very nice 2D animation with a neat premise from a time period you don't usually see a lot of cartoon media made about anymore. Will likely check out more whenever that arrives someday.
There's a difference between a "good" cartoon and a "popular" cartoon. I don't like most popular stuff because it doesn't appeal to me.
Out of all of these, Hazbin / Helluva and Murder Drones are the only ones that are actual running shows that aren't just relegated to a pilot episode. Murder Drones is probably the best indieshit show that's out there right now. The others that are just pilots remain to be seen.
Murder Drones looks very nice, it's got some good visuals. I usually prefer 2D animation, but it makes the 3D style work and I'm a massive sucker for dark sci-fi settings mixed with supernatural / eldritch horrors.
Hazbin has (usually) pretty decent 2D animation but I fricking hate the art style and character designs, especially after they made it even MORE angular and sharp compared to the pilot.
I think part of its animation is owed to Kevin Temmer. (Talented guy, but ughhhhhh his shillery isn't subtle at all.)
Isn't that the talking trash can guy?
Yep, the very same. Apparently the internet also got tricked into thinking an Elemental parody he made was "canon."
>I think part of its animation is owed to Kevin Temmer
You're right, Kevin Temmer is the lead animator (he's also the lead animator for Amazing Digital Circus, explaining that as well).
I don't have any opinions on him as a person, I really don't give a frick about twitter. He's obviously pretty talented and honestly who really gives a shit about what an animator does apart from his animations? Even if he is a bit of a gay.
He had experience at Blue Sky, so he obviously knows his shit when it comes to character animation.
i'm the opposite. i think murder drones looks boring and i really like hazbin's style.
Very likely just a matter of personal taste, but I fail to see how it could possibly look boring. To me, it's very visually striking with a unique sci-fi aesthetic and a very interesting setting / world that has a lot of really good looking set pieces.
As for Hazbin Hotel, my main issue with it is that it's just an uninspired flashbang of edgy red and black colours with extremely overly-loud character designs that scream "TUMBLR". Aesthetically it just does not look good to me, it's like what a 15 year old from ye old days Tumblr thinks looks cool and hot. I also really don't like the lanky-stick-people characters with sharp angles and no depth.
Holy frick, that shit looks like something straight out of a Jimmy Screamerclauz film.
It just looks like Edgy Reboot.
I like both for different reasons, though I agree on the overabundance of reds and some character designs being "too much" in HH. It's got a neat style overall, imo.
I really like MD's style as well, there's an interesting blend of sci-fi and supernatural elements in a somewhat gritty setting. The Lovecraftian undertones are also neat.
Hazbin is oversaturated to frick with so much red that it's bland, and they ruined Charlie's design so bad that I'll never forgive them.
this shit looks awful, also she has the body of a frail man.
I prefer her new design because it's more demonic. Her pilot design is cuter though.
How did they manage to make a demonic lesbian so utterly unfrickable?
By making her body look like that of a teenage boy.
Uuurr hur hur cutesy robutts do a violence, so kewl and funnee!!!!!!1!!!
Exactly, if I want to watch CG indie horror, I'd go watch Where The Dead go to Die or When Black Birds Fly.
Stop being so butthurt, anon.
You're replying to two different anons. I'm just someone who likes lesser-known names.
i just like some like some lil goofy goobers.
>goober
do you realize how moronic saying that sounds outside of Murder Droens threads?
People should only be referring to the Goofy Goober if they're to use that term.
i'll say what I want, homosexual. i like the goobers, because they are little goobers.
It's not a goober, it's a gizmo.
you are the reason Murder drones threads have gone to shit in the last months. Do you also post off-topic images and ask
>How would x character be in Murder Drones?
in broken ESL
If you're broken ESL and can figure it out, you're smarter than that anon.
Who the frick hurt you anon?
ocgays and namegays talking like it was /soc/
This seems like some really personal trauma that you're projecting into this thread for no reason other than because an anon said "goober". have a nice day you overdramatic Black person.
Falseflag schizo post.
I hate shaky cam so fricking much.
I get why it's used.
But I still hate it.
There's almost no shaky cam used there, anon.
I misspoke, although I also hate shaky cam, I meant to say "handheld". I'm a big fan of static shots, and I often dislike the swaying of the camera, so if there's movements I'll still prefer it to be stabilized in some form. But as I said, I get the "why", and in some scenarios it does look good.
Understandable, anon
Sorry but I'm a Monkey Wrench chad
I don’t have any plans of watching any of those
New Homestar toon though
I'd rather watch that instead, because Homestar is actually funny.
Exactly
Funny lil basic shapes dudes > sparkledogs and waifus with anglerfish mouths
It's bad enough these cartoons have pretty lame writing, but the voice acting is so bad. Like, they're TECHNICALLY good... But they never sell the performance The jokes never land. They never say lines in such a way that makes me go, "Ha-ha, the delivery nailed it!".
Maybe it's also an editing issue. I don't know. The whole thing just comes across as amateur night at a club. I watched an old Simpsons episode where Lisa runs away so Homer is looking for her throughout the town. There's a shot where he screams "LISSAAAAA" at the top of his lungs in a baby carriage and it's hilarious. I know it's unfair for me to try and compare some of the VAs they're hiring to fricking Dan Castellaneta, but it wasn't like he was born at the top of his game. He was probably still learning when he got the role for Homer. I just don't know why none of these showrunners have an ear for good performance.
Eric Bauza is proof that all you need in order to become a great VA is to study.
eric bauza's bugs sucks.
Who would you say does a better bugs? I've heard people say they didn't like Jeff Bergman's take on bugs, yet they like Eric Bauza's.
This guy nailed it. Their comedic timing, their dramatic timing, their delivery, their beat is just so off, its like you are hearing random cacophony instead of a well-structured rhythm of music. Every single cartoon is just uncomfortable, amateurish and cheaply made, like I'm watching endless back to back badly dubbed bargain bin movies. Its extra aggravating because often its so minor, that it would basically take no effort to fix, even in editing but at other times it fails right from the storyboarding.
Maybe its just pure amateurism accepted as a "style" like deviantart anime 20 years ago.
People kill themselves all the time for worse reasons, like voluntarily cutting off their dicks
>HH
Kind of
I like the characters, the writing was hit or miss but they had only 8 episodes so I don't know what to expect for season 2
>Murder drones
No, I don't have a solid reason not to like it it just doesn't work for me
>Amazing circus
I mean it's good but it's just a pilot
>Lackadaisy
I never read the comic
I prefer Battle For Dream Island
Finally, someone who gives object shows a proper shoutout. However, I started to stop watching once BFB came around...
>Do you like Hazbin Hotel?
It fricking sucks.
>Do you like Murder Drones?
It's good, best one out of all of these.
>Do you like The Amazing Digital Circus?
Just a pilot, it was okay. Don't get the absurd hype around it though.
>Do you like Lackadaisy?
Again just a pilot and it was okay, not very interested in it but I know there are a lot of gays that are very into the comics.
Is this what you wanted OP, you colossal homosexual? Half this thread is genuine discussion about cartoons and the other half is ass-sore whiny b***hes shaking their fists at zoomers.
I've only wanted genuine discussion the entire time. My greentext was purely the frustration I have with this board as a whole.
You will consoom the zoomer quirkyrainbowvomitcore and you will like it.
How much do you wanna bet that will be an "aesthetic" in the next 5 years?
I'll bet my left nut because that's how that shit is right now, people just haven't felt the need to name it yet I think. Then I'll have three nuts. Cool.
hazbin is millennialcore.
No the frick it isn't, it's tailormade for the Twitter/Tumblr Alphabet Mob and theatre kids.
I'm also part of the alphabet mob, but Spumco also had people who were part of the alphabet mob. Animation was always gay.
meh, i'm a younger millennial and the same age as the creator and it reminds me of being a teenager. i stayed away from helluva boss and the hazbin pilot for ages because people always screeched about them being bad on here, but i like it all after giving the actual hazbin show a shot. turns out the vocal whiny minority CAN be wrong. i need to just try out shit and listen to grouchy no fun frickers less.
None of these match that except for Amazing Digital Circus.
Oh dear god, it's like they threw up Poppy Playtime and FNF. Unappealing as frick, if you ask me.
Hazbin is for gays, closet gays, and Tunblrettes that happen to be zoomers.
Murder Drones is for younger millenials / older zoomers that grew up on the internet with creepypastas and shit, which makes sense considering the era the creator came from. Some aspects easily capture the younger zoomer crowd, but it's mostly reminiscent of older, edgier internet days rather than the current colorvomit zoomer style. That's moreso something The Amazong Digital Circus goes for.
Lackadaisy is much the same, can't really categorise it in that genre due to to its roots as a comic that's been going for quite a while now.
It's not really fair to label everything under "colorful zoomershit" just because it happens to have been made now in the current day - where the majority of people that watch cartoons are obviously zoomers. All 4 of these examples are very different to eachother.
Thank you for being literate, because I wouldn't have figured that out without all the overwhelming noise.
The only dramagay is the mentally ill anon that started ranting about unrelated Murder Drones threads, and I'm almost 90% sure it's a falseflag attempt because nobody was talking about it and it came out of nowhere.
>Hazbin is the embodiment of all tumblr art tropes in one show. Vivzie's previous works even more so, but Hazbin is the most popular one
I brought up theatre kids because of the very heavy focus on broadway numbers which seem to be extremely popular with that sort of crowd today. Especially after the success of stuff like Hamilton which (iirc) had a huge Tumblr-associated following.
>Do you like Hazbin Hotel?

Never seen it but I'm vaguely interested.
>Do you like The Amazing Digital Circus?
It was a blast and I'm excited to see more.
>Do you like Lackadaisy?
Been meaning to watch it but just haven't gotten around to it.
I like all 4 of them, and I really don't give a shit what anyone else thinks because 90% of opinions on Cinemaphile are generated in order to try and piss someone else off.
I have opinions, but I happen to have opinions that piss people off. (And no, I'm not referring to political "opinions")
>literally all shows built around coombait fem mcs
I wanted indie animation to get the respect it deserved but not like this
You're not looking hard enough. Crumb and Bakshi are peak indie.
They are not indie, those are proper studio productions with inestors and shit, and they haven't been relevant since the 90s
well neither is hazbin but it more or less coasts on helluva's (indie) success.
Still, they actually have vision. We need more people like that in the modern day.
i miss when shit like brakenwood used to get made and talked about on the regular
