Shows can have any sort of fans for a variety of reasons, doesn't mean the creators don't try to appeal to a specific gender demographic with it. Ben 10 in particular has a huge amount of merch, but most of that is action figures instead of dolls
Boy shows tend to suck because they just exist to sell toys and action figures. There's a girl equivalent of that, where Barbie or MLP exist just to sell dolls, but modern girl shows are breaking that rule. Right now, girl shows are superior for that reason.

That's the interesting part. Shows no longer being tied to merch means they don't necessarily have to appeal to girls first, or can try for both

what iconic merch did ed edd and eddy get? or fosters home and chowder?
girl shows like kim possible in the past didnt seem like they were created to sell merch either

This is a pretty damning point. Same goes for Ren and Stimpy, Courage, Zim and many others. But then let’s go further and look at male merchandise oriented shows to see if anon’s claim is true. BenTen, The Clone Wars, Men in Black, Teen Titans, Avatar the Last Air Bender, Men in Black, Generator Rex, Justice League, Batman the Animated Series, Static Shock, Thunder cats (new one), Gi Joe and many more I can’t think of off the top of my head. You are going to tell me that none of these shows told a fricking story? Why is the Owl House and Amphibia better? Because they a meandering story with a half-baked setting that never gets to develop consistent rules or stakes? We’re supposed to like Steven Universe because it’s unmarketable to any kid who wants to see something badass and fun?
Owl House isn't girl oriented it's Tumblr enby oriented
so girls
sci-fi isnt inherently guy oriented and fantasy isnt inherently girl oriented
The important part is the gender of the MC, since most people can only relate to characters that are like them
ben 10 has a huge following of female fans, and owl house has a large number of male fans
>owl house has a large number of male fans
Where did you heard that? I thought the show was only popular with girls because of the lesbo protag
You know yurigays exist, right?

OP never said that. But owl house is obviously girl oriented and Ben ten is obviously inces-I mean boy oriented.
The ones that have the most cute girls.
Bump
Again

Too bad they're all gay as hell.
