A friend gifted me the regular Oppenheimer bluray for Xmas. Would it be rude to re-gift that to my parents and buy myself the 4k version? Friend in questions comes over like once a year, no way they'd notice it.
If it was any other movie I'd probably say no, but this is Nolankino and should be viewed in the highest possible quality.
but i look at reviews first because a lot of times the 1080p blu ray is just as good or even better because they didn't bother rescanning the original film or it's digital bullshit and locked in at a lower rez so 4k makes no difference
also streaming 4k pretty much LOOKS just as good but sounds like crap, 4k blu rays almost always have way superior sound than the compressed streams. they devote most of the bandwidth for visuals and israelite out the audio for streams
given that I'm about to make a lot of money and am the owner of a 4K OLED TV, it only feels right to start accumulating physical 4KUHD media

I can hardly tell the difference between 1080 and 4K. I have a 4K tv because it’s basically standard now. My PC is 1080 though.
