No. Because Grand Theft Auto is already ripped off from several movies already.
Shut the frick up homosexual. Maybe by the time they actually release it you'll be old enough so that you won't need mommy to pick it up at the store for you
It’s inevitable. Hollywood is officially out of original ideas and every video game and comic book and political happening will have a movie made about it. They’re even making movies based on the making of other movies for Christ sake, that’s rock bottom creativity.
Why do people trust this rumor so much? I'll just wait until Rockstar to make an actual public announcement before I make a final judgement (even if GTA IV would probably suck due to modern Rockstar)

One of the Houser brothers left, the one who wrote most of the games. Lazlow left. Benzies left. TakeTwo published and outsourced the GTA HD Trilogy without Rockstar's involvement while censoring content. Shark Cards. Red Dead 2 being absolute trash. Apparantely the PS5 and Series X version of GTAV has had some troony jokes removed and other things "patched up".
I have no trust in Rockstar at all anymore. I just feel like I would rather see the game first before I make my opinion on it (Even if I believe it would probably shit)
They already made one, it was called Ambulance by Michael Bay where two main characters get caught up in a botched heist. It takes place in L.A. and has a lot of drone camera shots like when you switch characters and get a birds eye view of the map.
You can also check out Wrath of Man for another GTAV style movie.
Good Time is pretty much GTA The Movie, but it's down to the ground, like old games from this series, it's not a le epic crime adventure they turned the series into lately.
They might but they can't use Grand Theft Auto in the title.
There was a film with the name "Grand Theft Auto" in the late 70s which starred Ron Howard as a hapless car thief that was made by New World Picture. New World Picture was bought by 20th Century Fox, who was bought by Disney.
Meaning to make a GTA film based off the games, they either can not use GTA in the title or have to pray Disney cuts them a paycheck to let them use the name
I know I'm alone in this but GTA 3 is still my favorite. I still remember pretending to be friends with a kid and hanging out with him everyday just so he would invite me over to let me play GTA 3 on his PS2 because my parents were too cheap to buy one. I know San Andreas and Vice City are certainly better games, but nothing had the impact on me that GTA 3 did, I still think about that atmosphere and listen to that strange but addictive soundtrack
I could swear to god there is already because I remember seeing it in Blockbuster all the time when I was a kid. I think it was likely some shitty b-movie completely unrelated to the video game though.
Will they ever move on from 5 is the real question.
No. Because Grand Theft Auto is already ripped off from several movies already.

There already are two of them.
The Crank films.
Boring game with annoying characters
The GTA series just rips off crime movies for its own plot though
crime movies already exist
I hope not
Ok den of thieves basically copied the whole last heist of this video game. Like literally the exact same premise
Didn't Lindsey Lohan sue them for being too realistic?
Because of a pic they used in advertising and load screens that's pretty close to one she posted on some social site.
Hopefully not. 5 was dogshit
What are some movies with GTA vibes, Cinemaphile?
the Godfather part 3
To Live and Die in LA
Heat
The Last Boyscout
The Salton Sea
Crank
Bowfinger
And a veritable unending list of others that have in some way been cribbed or made into a pastiche in countless missions
Heat
The Sopranos was heavily ripped off in most of the GTA games, especially III and IV.
Pain and Gain
To Live and Die in LA
Scarface
Gone in 60 seconds
Italian job
Better Call Saul
Breaking Bad

>Do you think they will ever make a Grand Theft Auto movie ?
They already have, in fact the game is based on the movie.
A GTA movie would be great if they can keep the same kind of humour seen in 3, VC, SA, 4, and 5...
...but with recent news of 6 going woke, it'll be pure Netflix-style garbage if they even attempt to do a GTA movie now.
Why do people trust this rumor so much? I'll just wait until Rockstar to make an actual public announcement before I make a final judgement (even if GTA IV would probably suck due to modern Rockstar)
>rumor
it was a press statement from Rockstar themself that they had purged the "fratbro" culture and is more sensitive to cultural issues.
Can I have the press statement, please?

Thank you, anon
No wonder they've been in free fall reputation-wise.
Maybe the entire studio should be purged.
>We're going to alienate our core audience to appease some people on twitter
Weird business strategy but OK

All things must pass, tbh.
>trusting nu-Rockstar after the complete debacle that was the Defective Edition

Sleeping Dogs > GTA
True Crime Streets of New York > Sleeping Dogs
Lego City Undercover > True Crime
Dated early 2010s arkham ripoff combat was bad back, driving and shooting were bad too.
True Crime ran like shit on the PS2.
>True Crime ran like shit on the PS2.
>he didnt have an xbox
jokes on you
I love how the sequel was unbeatable on the Xbox version.
I hope not
nice airshit
It's already a movie-game so what's the point of making a movie of it?
>you killed my friends for one thousand dollars?
Good Time is pretty much GTA The Movie, but it's down to the ground, like old games from this series, it's not a le epic crime adventure they turned the series into lately.
make a movie out of games that crib everything from movies? Seems a little redundant.

yes

Just walk across the whole map. It's kino.
they literally did????
