I don't trust early reviews in general at this point. If something interests me, I'll watch the first couple of episodes, come to an opinion and decide to drop it or continue.
If morality is a key point in your show, expect it to be preachy, and in the modern animation scene, that means basic b***h leftism obnoxiously conveyed without nuance.
Not saying it will be, just don't be surprised if it turns out that way.
There was some braindead reviewer/critic or whatever who got dragged recently for his take on how the new Indiana Jones didn't didn't do enough to specifically explain to the audience how the people he hates in 2023 are just like the Nazi remnant in the 60's. Like he wanted them to have the Nazies say "Make Germany Great Again"-levels.
Then someone dug up his review of Schindler's List where he had once again complained that the movie didn't do enough to explain to the audience that the Nazies were bad.
I'm sort of expecting a movie that's specifically lauded for its "moral compass" to be the sort of heavyhanded browbeating that reviewer/critic demanded from his propa-I mean entertainment.
>The book was surprisingly good; the trailer shits on it
You see this man? This man has no taste, none at all. The book is utter, total, brazen garbage.
My favorite youtuber is James Rolfe. He doesn't talk about movies he hates (well, aside from that once).
Games though, yeah, he talks a little bit about games he hates...
The only thing I know about this show is that interview where the creator said that Nimona was an allegory for transgender people. If that was the most important thing to say about the show, and it coincidentally premiered in the pride month, reviews are worth less that nothing because even if it was worse than Velma no one would dare say anything not to get cancelled.
Since experience tells me that when any piece of media has armor against criticism, the people making it won't even try because they'll have positive reviews granted anyway, so I can completely dismiss this show with zero regrets.
>allegory for transgender people
EVERY FRICKING PIECE OF MEDIA must be an allegory for transgenderism, huh? Characters just can’t have secrets from others, identity crises, feelings of not belonging, struggles against authority or issues about their own body without having it tied to the LGBTQIA? Fricking literal narcissists the whole lot of them, why must every conflict in human history pertain to some pedo wanting to go into the girl’s bathroom in public?
A critic is someone who is making money off of someone else's product and has the audacity to tell you what to think. Screw the critics and screw you.
At least be entertaining when you’re telling me how to think, seriously
>EVERY FRICKING PIECE OF MEDIA must be an allegory for transgenderism, huh?
It does get annoying, but it sounds valid enough in the case of Nimona. The story is written by someone who's deep into trans stuff and has a history of talking about it. The main character is a shapeshifter. Her first scene in the comic shows her creating boobs in a spot where they should not be, and I remember at least one scene where she transforms into a guy. If you had the power to magically change your sex at will, you probably wouldn't see sex differences the same way as normal people.
Do I trust access-obsessed reviewers to give me a fair opinion on a movie in which all the major characters are gay?
No. Nimona was a dumb shitty comic.

"strong moral compass" is code word for woke as frick.
pass.
>Strong moral compass
Sounds like a huge red flag

Early reviewers typically kiss ass to not lose access

I don't even know this show's name but I'm treating it with a grain of salt.
I trust them to lie.
The book was surprisingly good; the trailer shits on it

I would agree, but only because I was expecting a true storytime of pain, like ladycastle, or other "high moral compass" books in the modern era.'
I hated the shit when the christgays did it. I hate it now.
Reviews are useless thanks to the whole industry being incestuous and naysayers getting blackballed out of any kind of early access.
Frick her, she’s just Chinese rip-off Beast Boy.
>Netflix
>strong moral compass
Pick one.
No and not because of the gay shit. I don’t mind homostuff but I don’t care for Noelle Stevenson or any of her work.
>trusting some random certified who

shiggy
My favorite YouTuber doesn’t like cartoons or politics though
get some new ones, then!

No
I loved the comic so yeah

does it use the stupid "muh paiting in motion" bullshit?
If so I'll pass.

Didn't comic Nimona kill a bunch of people for fun?
They were probably nazi fascist white people that misgendered people so it’s ok
The art style is throwing me off
