I hate it when people unironically defend ugly visuals in animation like in Boxtrolls for example. Visuals are the primary appeal of animation. Why even bother with the entire thing of the visuals are unappealing?
No but I like the atmosphere this gave off, it feels awfully cold and lonely. It helps that this is the last footage we'll ever see of this concept of shrek
the zootopia one sounded interesting but woody was still an butthole in the original. He just failed to knock buzz into the corner in the final product. BUT WHAT IF ANDY STARTS PLAYING WITH ME MORE WOODY HUH YOU'RE GOING TO KNOCK ME OUT OF THE WINDOW TOO?
no but I do kind of miss that funny era in the 90s where CG always did big wide-angle shots so the character's face protrudes forward comically. I think they did it because that's fricking hard to do in 2D, but it's still silly as hell and they often tried to use it dramatically.
No. The artstyle is aggressively ugly all around, which makes it harder for Shrek to stand out as being the "ugly" one.
Secondly, I think Chris Farley would have been a terrible Shrek. His voice acting bits sound so boring and uninspired. Myer's Scottish accent added so much flavor to the character.
Linda Hunt was going to be on Shrek at first, as a scrapped character named "Dama Fortuna". I have a theory that she was going to appear in the gap between Shrek/Donkey leaving the swamp at night and arriving to Duloc the next day. If that's the case, they likely removed her scene so the film would get sooner to Fiona's rescue and the love story.
no
I would have liked to see it
God no
And Mikes Scottish shrek is light years ahead of Farleys
No. It's too ugly, and not as funny.
>refusing to watch something cause ugly
Yes.

Some people like controlled ugly. Like basil wolverton.
Removing shreks ugliness kinda defeats the theme of the movie about not judging people based on their appearance.
he's still ugly, it's just so is everyone in that movie
I better you also prefer butthole Woody from early Toy Story draft or Dystopian Zootopia with shock collars.
Woody is an butthole in the original film, though.

>Posting jobbara
yeah cus she gives me blowjobs
Shrek would be considered one of the best animation films ever if it wasn't for the franchise that it spawned.

>GIVE ME YOUR LOOT FAT BOY
can't believe the test footage was hidden in plain sight
where was it

>Shrek premiered on May 2001
It changed completely as a film on early 1998. That's when it was sent to the studio behind Antz.
It seems like it was already finished by September 2000, judging by the images of this article.

Vincent Cassel isn't mentioned, so the Robin Hood sequence likely wasn't pitched yet.
>Robin Hood was voiced by Vincent Cassel.
You're shitting me.
Yep
It's book accurate
>Joan Rivers : Joan Rivers
Not funny, Shrek 2. Couldn't it say instead "Joan Rivers : royal ball host"?

>ugly stepsister : Larry King
Come on, Dreamworks. She's called Doris. Her name is said by Puss at one point ("just leave the bottle, Doris")
