He used to have the flaw of being a shitty artist, but even then he improved on that within a single episode

The rabbit was this reformed minor antagonist from the first episode that joined the team and was fricking cool
The girl was kind of cool I had a crush in her when I was a kid but I was kind of just a simp for a lot of cartoon girls as a kid whether it was heather from total drama or the fricking vegan earth Vader daughter in Johnny test

Same, I remember thinking a lot of the origins had a cool folk tale/mythology vibe. Like the original backstory of the villain being he was an Emperor who was shot in the head by an arrow and could no longer speak to humans because of it so they cast him out but he realized he could speak to animals now. Shit was cool but then they just made your average afternoon fodder cartoon. But I was on a Journey to the West kick so I was probably reading a lot deeper into the idea a bit too much.

The episode were that happens is pretty fricked up, she breaks when the hat is destroyed, like fetal position catatonic state mindbroken vacant stare broken, she only snaps out of it when someone says he loves her, the curse turns anyone into a hat if they Say they love her three times, she then tricks the guy into becoming her hat, so she has no qualms into killing a dude ... Which gets weird when in another episode a bunch of people get turned into hats due a love potion and gets pretty pissy because none of them is the real one.
The series was wasted potential, you have tons of quirky interesting characters and they decide to make the most blandest and boring Gary Stu their Main character
I think it's all in execution and in fairness the art dude isn't so much the MC as everyone else is. But yeah he gave me strong "Artist Self-Insert" vibes since his only detriment is occasionally he goes "I MUST DRAW!"
