Does Barbie officially mark the start of the post-modern woke era?

Does Barbie officially mark the start of the post-modern woke era? Are we now past earnest woke, and now instead in deconstructive woke? Like what happened with westerns and superhero films.

I don't think this movie is self-aware enough to be a deconstruction of woke media. Hell, I don't think it's fans are self-aware enough for that either.

Every since the 60s there's been a push for "woke" stuff, but it was either subtle enough that most people didn't really notice it or it was just full of irony for comedic purposes. We really should go back to how it was before the 2010s or so.

Might be too late to put the rabbit back in the hat, at least for some of us.

You're never going to put the rabbit back in the hat. Modernism wasn't sustainable. The tools that built it taken to their logical conclusions deconstructed it. The only path is forward.

This isn’t new somehow, PC was a big term way back in the 1990’s even. Things have just kept evolving over time. Every Gen has its “woke”. My families from Russian and the USSR even had its own woke libs that were constantly seething about muh militarism muh lack of social progress muh artists etc. “Woke” isn’t some new concept lol.

Woke is a good word because it finally broke through the normalgay zeitgeist. My sister complains about woke shit now because she finally got a word she felt was suitable.

Meta-modern is just post-post-modern, it's the same shit but with another level of self-awareness.

I mean ya no shit this happens with absolutely every social movement. It eventually gets old and seems corny saying the same shit over and over again and people eventually mock it to death. You have to switch things up and try to stay self-aware or zoomers will roast your movement.

All of these are correct. The funny part is most “anti-woke” types love whatever lib’d out lefty shit was popular when they were kids and absolutely love the same types of anti-nationalism/progressive movements in any nations outside of the west lol. Not saying I completely blame them, I mean being an anti-war hippie isn’t the same as being a pro-trans-kids 2020’s freak but still, it’s an odd thing. Like I swear a lot of it is just the optics and aesthetics. Like Kurt Cobain seems edgy and based despite being some ultra progressive homosexual but Xoomer republicans will suck him off since he issues different lingo and doesn’t have blue hair or some.

Post-modern woke and deconstructionism started 70-60 years ago brainlet, after the brief academic post-modern period in the late 40s. Barbie, Maverick, Infinite Jest, etc. are post-postmodern reconstructionist works. You'll notice Barbie doesn't stop at deconstructing prevailing hierarchies, it also deconstructs anti-hierarchy ideologies and concludes by reconstructing new optimistic narratives. This was telegraphed in the film's promotion and I hypothesized almost all of this analysis before the film was reviewed.

Modern: The era that built the nuclear bomb.
Postmodern: The realization that the objective truths relied on in the modern era could be deconstructed with the philosophical tools of the modern era.
Postmodern woke: A family of ideologies that used the academic foundation of postmodernism to attack the West through contrived and unfalsifiable metanarratives posed as objective truth.
Postmodern mainstream: The general cynicism and nihilism that befell the West in the late 20th century.
Postmodern reactionaries: Anti-woke stuff, either a call to reject postmodernity and retvrn to an earlier framework or an effort to form competing metanarratives posed as objective truth.
Deconstructionism: The ruthless analysis of social constructs and metanarratives to expose their presuppositions, contradictions, axioms, hierarchies, etc.
Post-postmodern: The current ongoing frontier trying to deal with the postmodern reality, typically characterized by accepting or performing postmodern deconstructions (in contrast to simple retvrnism or dueling metanarratives) but rejecting cynical or nihilistic conclusions and instead embracing the subjectivity to construct new metanarratives that are unapologetic in their subjectivity.
Reconstructionism: The process of using a deconstruction to build a new subjective narrative or construct.

Is it Postmodern ? Or is it just modern/premodern. Seriously.
A big misconception is, that it is a franchise-film.
"Franchise" means different things in copyright law and writing. Barby is certainly copyright, but it is not established film/comic/TV stuff. Dolls have no Plot.
What it really shows, that people want something original, and it is original. The idea of a doll wanting to be a human isn't itself postmodern (Pinochio anyone ?), gender roles (and stories about it) existed before feminism and making fun about ironic politics isn't that new (Animal Farm ?)
It is also not really woke. It is a chick flic. It offends some men (does Ben Shapiro even count as real man ?) because men were never to see it. Barbenheimer caused that.
The meme Barbenheimer itself is Postmodern (like most memes), but that was never intended.
Of course hollywood will learn the wrong lessons and will try to force memes and likely fail.

No this means Hollywood will do more woke movies. It'll just be in products directed towards women for now and will eventually dominate all of mainstream media. They found their way to success.

Kinda feels like the end of it. And 3rd wave feminism in general. Hard to be oppressed when your entire stupid ideology makes a billion dollars at the box office using one of the most recognizable IPs in the world as a vehicle.

Im not even saying this in a hopeful way, and to be honest I would prefer if it didnt happen, but the pendulum ALWAYS swings back and there will not only be a genocide on a scale never seen before, but a return to pre-enlightenment society and values. Whether or not you disagree doesn't matter.
