Does Blade have any good comic book stories?
For most characters, there's iconic storylines that people will recommend you check out, but for Blade I never see anything. He doesn't seem to have any supporting cast, and his only recurring villains are Dracula and Deacon Frost sometimes. He's never really been able to helm a series for long, I was shocked to see that if you count every series Blade has ever been in, the legacy numbering for the most recent Blade series is only 29, embarrassingly low for a character who has been around for like 50 years.
It seems to me like people just like the character because he looks cool. It's no wonder the MCU is struggling to get a script for his solo movie, they have nothing to take inspiration from.

Victim of a shared universe, its why his movies worked and nothing else does. Should've gotten a better MAX series.

How exactly is Blade, a character who is a spin-off of the Tomb of Dracula series, being incapable of having his own solo book make him a "victim of a shared universe"? If anything, if it weren't for his guest appearances in other books reminding people he exists, nobody would care about him.

Yeah, Blade is a boring main character, but a very good guest or supporting character who is just there to help out against the vampires. He was one of the few parts of Aaron's Avengers run I actually liked.

Want to hear something even more embarrassing? Fricking Morbius once had a solo series that lasted more than all of Blade's issues combined.

Blade doesn't have any good stories period. Even with the movies, the only good thing about them is the aesthetic.

I like Blade and think he's a cool character in a lot of stories but finding a definitive run or story is like a motherfricker trying to ice skate uphill. His current run is good though.

Was the Bloodline: Daughter of Blade mini any good?

    >If its not "iconic" it's not good
if you're interested in the character just read everything he's in and reread whatever you really like, it's not alot

    It should actually be higher

Huh, I get why they skipped those random Blade one-shots, but I wonder why they skipped the 10 issues of Blade: vampire Hunter. Regardless, 44 issues is still pretty damn low.
The Blade Epic Collection series will probably be like 90% guest appearances in other books.

So just like the Black Widow and Hawkeye Epic collections.

Pretty much, let's not forget that this movie introduced the idea of Blade having vampire powers without the weaknesses, before that in the comics all he had was an immunity to vampire bites.

Yeah, in the comics he just suddenly gained his movie powers after being bit by Morbius, right?

I don't know how much they mattered in the comic, but I had this card when I was a kid.

An incarnation of the Nightstalkers was also in one of the movies.

Blade is only cool by himself/in a vacuum. Loses all appeal knowing guys like Doctor Strange are out there

What did Blade even do after Doctor Strange cast a spell to kill ALL vampires? Obviously it didn't last long, but did Blade go on vacation or something? Did he try to branch out to killing werewolves, but was disappointed that it wasn't as exciting? Did he start harassing Morbius because close enough?

Not really, Strange is too busy protecting all of reality from Shuma-Gorath or the Dread Dormammu to deal with vampires stalking the city streets at night. It's like saying that Daredevil loses all appeal because the Avengers exist.
