The people who wank about how every story beat needs to be trying hard to box tick the strict definition of grimdark, and just for the sake of it, are insufferable. Personally I don't like grimdark, which is why I've never been into Warhammer. So they don't need to make a Warhammer TV show for me. But Amazon/Hollywood wants big numbers, so they boil everything down to the lowest common denominator, which means focus groups saying "It's too dark. Put a puppy and some babies and a wise-cracking Black in there".

There are so many storylines between 30k/40k/fantasy. If they try to stick to a main ensemble it will fail miserably.
