Tomboys have existed for a good while, people saying it makes you a homosexual for liking them or a troony for being one is a relatively new idea. If a girl is into sports and cars and shit like that most guys don’t think “oh she wants to be a man” they think “oh here’s my future wife”

That’s a good way of putting it, I honestly don’t see why morons are so against the idea of a tomboy, I mean one camp is constantly b***hing about gender norms and the other is always saying how moronic women are. Tomboys are basically the best of both worlds yet the idea of the makes them seethe to no end.

Only embarrassing newbies think Cinemaphile is traditionally a right-wing hugbox. In the pre-election tourist era someone crying about tomboys being vaguely feminist or trans figures would have been laughed out of the room.

Tomboys are not taboo and the attraction to them is that they are spunky and outgoing and fun.

Femboys are taboo, because it's a boy who acts like a girl in order to solicit gay sex from men. It's quite easy to understand.

Femboys are a fetish, nothing more. They are not equivalent to tomboys, as nobody went around calling guys who liked home ec or dance femboys in the past.

Ah, but those are traditionally feminine skills, and older people would notice if a guy were super into baking and sewing etc. We don't think of them that way quite as much anymore because attitudes about domestic labor have shifted, though in practice most of that work is still probably done by women.

look if you don't understand that the point of home ec classes was to teach people housewife skills, that's your problem. the idea that professional bakers and tailors were usually men is not relevant, and suggesting that sewing is a traditionally masculine skill is laughably stupid. "Tailors" and "bakers" were men because you're talking about the formal jobs held by guild members, who were only allowed to be men, not the actual bulk of cooking and clothesmaking duties, which were not in fact performed by legally permitted men in medieval cities.

That's what makes femboys so terrible, as the legendary post earlier in the thread points out: It's all the worst aspects of cliche femininity (narcissism, superficiality, fixation on clothes, makeup, pageantry, and performative bullshit) but coming from a scrawn little homosexual who expects you to pamper him like you would an equally useless girl.
