WE is ok but I can't imagine liking it or HF as much without having the prior viewing of Shaun in mind. Half the jokes are playing off how the chars are in the other movies.
WE is just as kino it just reaches for a more deeper meaning than the more comedy focused movies before it. Also it hit way to close to home for people especially here, you should have seen how angry people were but couldnt understand it was because the movie called them out.

>shaun of the dead comes out: >HOLY FRICK THAT WAS AWESOME
>Hot fuzz comes out: >WOW THEY ACTUALLY DID IT, THIS IS AWESOME TOO
>Worlds End comes out >what the frick is this dogshit, what happened to the smart dialogue and quick editing
I rewatched worlds end recently to see if I gave it a bad shake, but nope, still shit and poorly crafted
WE was just too on-the-nose and wway too pretentious.
As soon as the guy gets his head smashed on the urinal it's obvious where the film is going but then the film tries to have it's cake and eat it too in sticking with the "World's End" gimmick.
I dislike how reliant on callbacks Worlds End is. It set up things and then the callback was the joke, whereas Hot Fuzz’s setup was also a joke.
I liked the second viewing more since that contextualized the setup, but it’s too bad the first watch wasn’t great.
Best zombie-themed rom-com the UK has ever produced.
Simple as.
Yeah, it’s a great movie. In fact I’d choose it as one of the defining films of the 2000s.
We never ever got the L4D map. I’ll never forgive the studios for that.
4 levels of melee only weapons until a single player gets the Winchester at the end…would have been vidya kino.
hot fuzz is better

Brilliant editing.
"It's a mixture of lateral puzzle solving and ultraviolence"
Considering it's based on an episode of Spaced, it still rips.
Which episode
you are gay and moronic
Episode is called "Art".
He takes a bunch of cheap speed and stays up for days playing Resident Evil 2.
"Were coming to get you barbara" - shaun of the dead
"there coooming to get yooou barbara" - night of the living dead
its boring as frick.
british humor is so bad
It's timeless so yes
It’s one of the best films ever made.
It stayed so true to Romero’s zombie rules that Romero loved it and put those guys in his movie Land of the Dead as zombie extras.
Peak redditcore.
>the troony who cried reddit.
it's great but that said
HF > TWE > SOTD
It only got more relevant because of the 20 teens zombie craze
Dawn of the dead 2004 is when it had a resurgence soonafter

Worlds End is the only one with anything interesting to say. Too bad it's 80 years too late.

It does, especially if you play video games like Project Zomboid
Good game yeah. Similar vibe in some respects.
