If Donald wasn't in Halloween, no way it would have been as successful as it was. He carried that shit hard
The slasher movie was a complete novelty when Halloween came out even with those giallo films and Black Christmas, and Myers had a fantastic costume and presence. It would still have been a success, but Pleasence definitely elevated the material.
I watched it again recently and agree. Jamie lee curtis plays the frumpy girl pretty well
