i know it's an unpopular opinion but Alien 3 scared the shit out of me when I first watched it back in 97ish. shamefully they didn't release the now-special edition in theaters, because goddamn the original 92 cut is turboshit and understandably trashed by most people

I don't understand this sentiment. The so-called ''better'' cut of the movie castrates some of the nasty parts. Those parts, I think at least, are important to convey how neck deep in shit Ripley is, especially mentally. It also added something merciless to the overal universe, showing that it was not a place for the weak, but also that sometimes, tough shit, bad things happen to nice people for no other reason than bad luck.
The flaws are the cuts that removed almost all the gore. The film was supposed to be three hours long, and for some ungodly reason they screen tested it some university Californians. They hated it and thought it was too icky, and it recieved a frickton of cuts.

Nope, I still love the movie. The cuts and shitty special effects are legit problems.
I get what you're saying. It's frustrating hearing what could have been but was removed due to a non-fan's opinion. There's many movies that were vastly improved when they returned scenes that were cut for the theatrical release.
Oh look, Cinemaphile's contrarian shit opinions are making the rounds again. How refreshing.
Don't you have some Galadriel shill threads to post in, drone?
One thing that pisses me off is that almost every fricking piece of Alien media is somehow related to Ripley. It's either some distant relative of hers or just a story covering some previously unexplored time in her timeline - "oh actually something else alien related happened to Ripley between Alien and Aliens, but her memory got wiped".
The Alien universe is so huge but they rarely explore new characters.
2 at least made sense and was satisfying. 3 & 4 was unnecessary. Isolation at least did it in a novel way by having it be her daughter following in her footsteps and trying to find her long lost mother.

>One thing that pisses me off is that almost every fricking piece of Alien media is somehow related to Ripley.
Most AVP stuff is completely unrelated to Ripley. That's probably why I enjoy it the most.
Blomkamp a hack.
I feel eternally cheated we never got the William Gibson-written Alien 3. The script is out there floating around the web, it's pretty kino, and infinitely better than what we ended up getting.
No, Blomkamp made 1 good film and it was a fluke. Gibson also completely changed how the alien cycle works. Aliens wrote itself into a series ending, the colony and all the aliens were destroyed. Exploring the origins of the space jockey and alien was the only move.
I used to be really bummed out that this project fell apart, but as more and more of the plot gets revealed I'm actually happy that Scott killed it in the cradle. This movie would have been garbage on the level of The Predator. Ripley's story is done, stop bringing her back for every fricking sequel.
Xenos lose to space marines with pump action shotguns and space rednecks who like to practice their space wwe moves on them. Samus is like a perfect gmo human with power armor that has like super cannon thing on it.
So I assume Samus would win. I've never played Metroid though nor am I familiar with the lore so I don't actually know, but she sounds at least like a Spartan equivalent and master chief would wreck the shit out of a xenomorph similar to a mandible'd space redneck.
I'd usually agree, but at this point I'd take Neil bringing back Ripley just to get Alien back to what it used to be and Prometheus can do its own disconnected thing like it should have been. The video shows art of adult Newt, maybe they could have had her be the next protagonist for follow-on movies.
Even if they could do it now, I don't think they would. Blomkamp said last year it's over. Sigourney Weaver is five years younger than Biden. Let me know when Jim Cameron wants to come back. Looking forward to how bad he can frick up his Aliens legacy.

Resurrection was a funny so bad it's good movie with some of the neatest ideas in the series(cloning that only works because xenomorphs have genetic memories, xenomorph-human hybrids, androids more human than the humans). Alien 3 was just a shittier Alien 1 with a pretentious ending.

Ridley seems extremely bored of them and the long process for them to create an alien. So now it's literally just floating invisible alien microbes that'll transform you. Especially since the humans will always find a reason to remove their suits immediately or not wear any.
This wasn't a mistake, there was a subplot about a humanoid giant stalking the colony that got dropped from the film. He was supposed to help the marines at the end.
you're telling me they didn't actually breed, tamed and wrangled these alien creatures when they were shooting the film? what the frick!
ps. i'm calling you a stupid fricking Black person who thinks he's smart for noticing that something is a special effect
Yeah it would have been great just like Demonic, Elysium, Chappie, and all those moronic short films he put out that were like video game intro cutscenes that mouthbreathing nerds went nuts for
All the hack writer and directors try to make the alien more human. That's opposite of what makes it scary. That doe eyed saggy titted human thing from 4 wasn't scary and neither is Ripley in a bad alien halloween costume.
you're like 30 years late on this. The xenomorph being a weird homonculus anti-human has been a thing Alien III and Prometheus/Covenant sealed the deal with the engineers.
>Now i will go back to fapping to BLACKED.COM and watch big dumb greasy Black folk gangbanging white prostitutes and fill them with Black cum >OHHHHHHHHHHHHH >I AM COOOOOOOOOOMMMMMIIINNGG
No, it wouldn’t. 1. Sigourney weaver has been an old lady for like 20 years now. Dragging old ladies back because drooling nostalgiatards like you want to see them again and again and again and again isn’t good cinema, it’s like Sarah Connor returning in dark fate. It would just be another weird old lady in a plot that doesn’t make any sense to have an old lady in it. 2. Bringing Ripley back, over and over again for her to fight another alien in a space ship hallway and run around isn’t scary or fun or interesting, it’s cliche and expected.
What they did with Prometheus actually was a good direction to take the Alien series but they made one mistake. they should not have canonized the connection to the original Alien they should have left it up to the viewer whether the engineers were in fact the same aliens that Ripley found crash landed. The director could have simply said he isn’t revealing that information and left the direct connection speculative. It could be the exact same universe or maybe there is no connection at all, like alien to blade runner. Just a “what if” connection. Maybe they are the aliens that created the engineers? Maybe this takes place in another imagined universe with similar circumstances?. Covenant happened because people just want the same fricking alien movie over and over again. It’s sad. Movies today are being literally moronic due to logical marketing decisions resulting from moronic people.
They're not actually just dumb bugs. They are pretty intelligent and they already fought the colonists for weeks, so they'd know how devices function like door buttons.
currently watching alien 3 on a rewatch marathon and i had completely forgotten that charles fricking dance is in it and now all i see is young tywin lannister
Prometheus was better than Alien, but not better than Aliens in my opinion, which can't be topped.
Hold on a second! Alien and Aliens are critically acclaimed and most people see them as the only good Alien films. However! You think Prometheus, a critically panned film is better. That makes you unique individuals! Wow! I wish I thought Prometheus was better so I wasn't part of The Herd™.
why are you talking like this? I'm just telling you what I thought. Prometheus was slow and mysterious and unnerving, much like the first film. The second film is just a dumb action film that turns the powerful xenomorph into a bug that can be easily killed. the ending is terrible too. That's just my opinion it's not contrarian
prometheus was a moronic try at destroying everything that made alien good by overexplaining and demystifying anything even remotely intersting about the universe, implying xenomorphs not being some mysterious alien race but rather a result of human/android experimentation/weaponization. the most moronic part being a fricking character named peter weyland being on board the fricking ship.
>by overexplaining and demystifying anything even remotely intersting about the universe
not even done and actually confuses everything even more >implying xenomorphs not being some mysterious alien race but rather a result of human/android experimentation/weaponization
you're thinking of alien covenant, an awful film but not the film I'm talking about >the most moronic part being a fricking character named peter weyland being on board the fricking ship
what's your problem with that? you've said it really snarkily like you don't have to explain yourself but the thematic undercurrent of the whole film ensures that it makes perfect sense with the plot
>what's your problem with that?
it's ridley scott's lame attempt at over-explaining and trying to "marvel-universe" the alien franchise even more. it's him going "see guys? this is where that name comes from! it's the guy from the evil corp! get it? winkwink". if it were just a standalone film, there's no point in giving that character that name.
Anonymous
I'm not defending prometheus, but the company name in the comics/books/games was always from a merger between weyland and yutani corporations which were named after their founders. But that was also long before they had discovered the xenomorph or space jockeys
2 years ago
Anonymous
your problem with it is on the tiniest of whinging nitpick levels. when it comes to the film itself and the ideas its presenting weylands inclusion makes perfect sense
2 years ago
Anonymous
no i get why his inclusion makes sense in prometheus, i don't dislike prometheus as the movie it is, i dislike it for what it does to alien and aliens
>also them fricking showing the space jockey and runing any mystery behind it
it shows you what the space jockey was whilst also opening up a dozen questions of its own. Why are you writing in this way? relax, we're adults talking about a film, not floppy-wristed homosexuals at theatre having a catfight.
i'm fine with prometheus opening up a dozen questions of its own and i don't think i would've minded at all if the mala'kak had its own design, i just simply dislike it happening at the expense of the original two movies' mystery

Prometheus' ties to Alien is its worst part and biggest baggage, im pretty sure it would've been better received if it was just a standalone vaguely lovecraftian horror film about some mysterious black goo. It'd be easier to ignore characters acting batshit too

also them fricking showing the space jockey and runing any mystery behind it instead of just coming up with its own concept, but no, it's gotta tie-in to alien!

the entire thing is based on Giger art that implies Engineers and Xenomorphs are part of the same life cycle, like caterpillar butterfly or the often cited wasp and caterpillar.
It wasn't demystifying shit you ignoramus just expanding on the implication of the original art work.
If you were a real fan and not some mutt moron you'd know this.

I honestly feel like Prometheus is as if Ridley Scott filmed a masterpiece and then filmed an absolutely moronic piece of shit, then randomly edited together scenes from the two into a single movie
what happened ironically is they pandered to the same morons itt criticising it.
The autistic fricking manchildren that want everything to be the same shit every movie.
So they added a bunch of stupid alien stuff into prometheus and made Covenant an alien film.

Covenant was such shit. Only the last 15 minutes contained anything remotely worthwhile. It's such a shame.

they basically condensed what people actually wanted to see, Engineers, into a 2 minute flashback.
all to pander to the absolute lowest denominator.
Really upsets me the Engineer saga could have been a scifi epic.

I actually really wanted to see David and Elizabeth find the engineers homeworld and it would be some kind of crazy paradise world beyond anything humanity could ever come up with and have some kind of crazy adventure there. Could have been really unique, weird, and fun, but we got a pile of shit instead.

Yeah that was my idea too. Basically the sequel would be a homage to the french animated film La Planète sauvage.
>Wot if District 9 again...but this time Ripley wears a xeno mech suit
Blomkamp was a complete hack. He had one good idea and he's been trying to copy/paste the same thing into different stories since.
he's one of the most creative directors working today which make studios nervous as frick
he's swinging for the fences with every film
they're not all gonna land
you peanut gallery looking homosexual
They need to actually make aliens scary in modern day, maybe incorporate elements of slender man in the design or make them animatronic and instead of a ship make it the scary Backrooms universe.
After seeing Dune, thats the sort of aesthetic that should be married to Alien.
Especially the Harkonnen would have been a perfect portrayal of the Engineers.
Fun fact Giger did designs for the Harkonnen that ended up getting recycled in Prometheus.
with all the hate that alien 3 initially (and in many cases rightfully) got, something that doesn't get talked about enough is how moronic the weyland yutani commandos looked
But what about the based Alien 2: On Earth? Such a good movie, too bad the audience and critics at the time did not understand it... They weren't ready
NO,it would have been absolut garbage.
The same problem Terminator has, hack filmakes grew up with a movie, when they get their hands on the property, they add nothing new, there's no vision, there's no stakes, it's just a rehash of the same story over and over.
They made terminator 2 part 2 with terminator 3 and then, they went ahead and did terminator 2 part 3 and 4 with genesys and dark world or whatever these movies are called
After seeing Dune, thats the sort of aesthetic that should be married to Alien.
Especially the Harkonnen would have been a perfect portrayal of the Engineers.
Fun fact Giger did designs for the Harkonnen that ended up getting recycled in Prometheus.
Only the first Alien is a good film. Everything after is garbage.
Aliens is literally a perfect film front to back. It's not "scary" but it doesn't have to be
Aliens was scary as frick when I was a kid. Far scarier than Alien. Cameron did a great job with the spooky sounds like hissing and tracker beeping, the panic and intensity of the fights, and the aliens coming from all sides. Now, of course, nothing in cinema is scary. Alien Isolation brought some fear back since you actually have to interact with the dangers
i know it's an unpopular opinion but Alien 3 scared the shit out of me when I first watched it back in 97ish. The cinematography, the decaying prison, ample dark corridors with those candles really added to the horror feeling. Sure, it's mediocre as frick compared to its predecessors but there's just something about the way it looks that just works
shamefully they didn't release the now-special edition in theaters, because goddamn the original 92 cut is turboshit and understandably trashed by most people
>because goddamn the original 92 cut is turboshit and understandably trashed by most people
I don't understand this sentiment. The so-called ''better'' cut of the movie castrates some of the nasty parts. Those parts, I think at least, are important to convey how neck deep in shit Ripley is, especially mentally. It also added something merciless to the overal universe, showing that it was not a place for the weak, but also that sometimes, tough shit, bad things happen to nice people for no other reason than bad luck.
>action film that has 10 minutes of action and the aliens appear on screen for a total of 2 minutes
alien wasn't even scary
>film doesn't even follow my cliched idea of what an action movie should be but I'm going to categorize it anyway
Aliens is a great action movie, and Alien 3 is great despite its flaws.
>despite its flaws.
people always say shit like this
what flaws???
it fricking rocked
you tasteless parroting dweebs
The flaws are the cuts that removed almost all the gore. The film was supposed to be three hours long, and for some ungodly reason they screen tested it some university Californians. They hated it and thought it was too icky, and it recieved a frickton of cuts.
Otherwise, I find the first person chase sequences tedious because I want to see the Xenomorph. The puppet was done pretty poorly though.

why on earth would I ever judge something based on what I HAVEN'T seen????

>Okay guys, here's the pitch: What if Ripley becomes The Tick-- No, no, hear me out! What if Ripley becomes The Tick, but like... xenomorph style?
I did want to see what he could do. The guy is really good with visuals and violence. I bet he would have had Sharlto Copley as a space marine.
The Xeno infiltration suit has been a thing for decades. It was in toys and comics, but piloted by some guy
I'm not familiar with Blomkamp's Alien 5 script. Explain what this is.
See this video
he has made exactly 1 kino film which makes me think it was a fluke and his alien film would've been a huge disaster
the halo short film he did was kino as well
He's a great visionary but he just needs somebody to sort of check some of his more moronic and campy shit.
>Great visionary
>Needs better scripts
Story of so many big budget directors of the 2010s. Sad!
>he has made exactly 1 kino film
Chappie?
why are people obsessed with this franchise it has literally produced nothing new for 30 years
>tfw Alien: Covenant (2017) was 30 years ago
Except it could have been different if they let Blomkamp do it. Instead we got Prometheus, Covenant and whatever the frick else.
I had a friend once from elementary school. When we reconnected on face book like a decade later he apparently did nothing but draw xenomorphs.
There is an autistic obsession with the design.
>I had a friend once
I don't believe you.

Yeah she wouldn't have given a damn about Newt if she never had a daughter previously.
She would care exactly as much as the other people in the rescue team about a child survivor which was not very much. Shut up, moron.

Yes and the same goes for his Robocop project
Was there really anything to Alien 5 other than some concept art? I'm willing to get on board if there's a good script.
It was going to be an Alien 3 replacement to get the series back on track
I used to be really bummed out that this project fell apart, but as more and more of the plot gets revealed I'm actually happy that Scott killed it in the cradle. Sigourney was 5 years younger than Senator Joe Biden in 1979 too.

Who the frick rule 63'd Scorpious from Farscape?

literal hank hill ass

damn, That BUSH
Sigourney Weaver activated something in me as a child.

Resurrection was a funny so bad it's good movie with some of the neatest ideas in the series(cloning that only works because xenomorphs have genetic memories, xenomorph-human hybrids, androids more human than the humans). Alien 3 was just a shittier Alien 1 with a pretentious ending.

What movie is the one with aliens, predators, and some Aztec looking pyramids?
Alien vs Predator vs Pyramid. People like to shit on it, but it's much better than the sequel Aliens vs Predator vs Bumfrick Nowhere
it's from aliens vs predator vs aztecs, it's total garbage
the other one is much better
avp
First AVP. Underatted kino personally but each to thier own
That game was based
It was my childhood
I meant the film, I just choose the art from AVP extinction because I love it
>first AvP under-rated
>I meant the film
Same. Also AVP2 pc game was pure fricking kino and one of the best games made in early 2000s. I had so many fun memories playing that game.

still play it to this day, fantastic game
I wish they would bring it to steam
Its freeware so no need, very easy to install/tweak/gets mods to work etc

It truly is, also many cool mods can be added to it as well. But avoid the 2010 version, it was really bad. AVP2 is for gigachads, and you sir are one
The first film is boring as shit with a boring as shit cast and a netflix tier ending
>underatted
First AVP game was pc only. Followed by kino AVP2.
the cancerous shit avp published by sega or whoever it was - dogshite. Aliens couldn't even walk on walls, predators couldn't jump super high.
It would have been terrible like Jurassic World.
It would have been kino and not to mention that it could’ve had a good conclusion to the franchise or at least Ripley’s story.
The end of the first movie was a good conclusion for Ripley.
Wrong. The end of Alien 3 is the perfect finale to her story
Her story already ended at the end of Aliens, it was perfect and kino. Alien 3 was lame fanfic.
The oats studios stuff was great

Giger's work uses sexual imagery in grotesque ways. It's not coomer bait like

bet this scrub doesn't even jerk off to roadkill lol
the digits never lie

It would have been just as good as his Robocop Sequel.
some people say Aliens isn't a horror movie
I feel like they could have added another string and put more effort into the tails movement.
More strings means more budget.
The wire is too noticeable. Ruins the entire movie.
Once you see this one, you'll not unsee it. Still love Aliens though and their effects worked well enough for me
This wasn't a mistake, there was a subplot about a humanoid giant stalking the colony that got dropped from the film. He was supposed to help the marines at the end.
Wtf am I meant to be seeing here?
It's more visible in motion, but it's the remote control car operator's head peering over the wall. The APC is a little RC vehicle
There's a guy peering over the wall during the APC chase scene because the actual APC is a medium sized toy car
Jesus frick...yeah I actually see it now
oh yeah you see it
Didn't they make a real size one? I thought it was an aircraft fueler or tower or something repurposed.
yes, but that set is a miniature, it'd have to be a massive set to have the full-size APC drive around, and unsafe
you're telling me they didn't actually breed, tamed and wrangled these alien creatures when they were shooting the film? what the frick!
ps. i'm calling you a stupid fricking Black person who thinks he's smart for noticing that something is a special effect
>low iq lashing out because he's embarrassed he didn't see it
Good enough for the time.
i´ve seen this movie for like 10 times and didnt noticed the wires and i sewar to god i will not notice next time either, have a nice day, homosexual.
>he's going to notice them next time
the knowledge is implicit
Little shithead.
I wonder what Jonesey is up to in 2022. He's a good actor.
Yeah it would have been great just like Demonic, Elysium, Chappie, and all those moronic short films he put out that were like video game intro cutscenes that mouthbreathing nerds went nuts for
My friend told me that one time while he was taking a dump, his wife barged in, dropped to her knees, and gave him a blomkamp while he was mid-turd.
I'm glad my wife's son didn't have to witness that. Sounds grisly.
Did he get to finish his shit, or was it just dangling there, half-formed like a Blomkamp.
Huh... At some point in my youth I owned both of those cheap ass watches.
Casio make great cheap ass watches.
They would do weird things when held in broad sunlight.
Every kid in the late '70s/ early '80s did.
I bought an F-91W just last week. I love it.
>getting the wrong watches
>not adjusting the 3D model to fit them
0/10
All the hack writer and directors try to make the alien more human. That's opposite of what makes it scary. That doe eyed saggy titted human thing from 4 wasn't scary and neither is Ripley in a bad alien halloween costume.
The Humans are the real bad guys in every horror setting.
Only in cliche schlock written by mid wit morons.
It's not a cliché when that is current reality. Xenomorphs deserve to wipe out Earth.
Not earth, just let them exterminate liberals, commies, homosexuals, Black folk, israelites, trannies and feminists and everything will be fine again.
you're like 30 years late on this. The xenomorph being a weird homonculus anti-human has been a thing Alien III and Prometheus/Covenant sealed the deal with the engineers.
And all of those movies sucked because of it.
>We are not so different, you and I
>Ripley, this was a really bad call!
I never said any of this bro....
Your projecting super lefty hard style. You outed yourself here buddy
>Now i will go back to fapping to BLACKED.COM and watch big dumb greasy Black folk gangbanging white prostitutes and fill them with Black cum
>OHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>I AM COOOOOOOOOOMMMMMIIINNGG
That's you. You are a Black personworshipper
>biggest scale
>grandest story
>best vfx
>best creature fx
>still not topped
>We're having Omelettes for breakfast!
pretty bad cargo space management
Would have been better than what Ridley Scott made.
that's been true for at least 20 years now
nah
frick off moron
you first, baby
This is the most based post in the whole thread, great job, mate.
>OH N-!
>HERE IS YOUR EQUALITY b***h
How did it open the door?
>YUTANI CLOSE THE DOOOOOOOOOOOOO-AH
Spunkmeyer, surely.
They're not actually just dumb bugs. They are pretty intelligent and they already fought the colonists for weeks, so they'd know how devices function like door buttons.
Why were they leaving the dropship anyway? It made no sense for them to even leave the ship.
Maybe.
>Black guy saves Ripley from evil white rapists
Really?
>tfw no rape goggles
>I'm going in, boys
Fincher doesn't like Alien 3 but I fricking love the movie, as well as Fincher.
Why is c**t such a satisfying word.
It sounds chocolatey.
because it's very vulgar
Buzzcut Ripley was so hot.
Is raperguy the fbi dude from Mindhunter? I guess David Fincher liked him...
>born 1963
>He is unmarried and lives in New York City.
hmmm
>twn be movie with the plot of the AVP2 game
i can't remember where the alien campaign ties with the marine and the predator
I like to keep this.
For close encounters.
currently watching alien 3 on a rewatch marathon and i had completely forgotten that charles fricking dance is in it and now all i see is young tywin lannister
It looks absolutely moronic and you're a moron
Also he fricking sucks now, more than ever. Scott did everyone a favor
Covenant was kino
GAME OVER MAN, GAME OVER!
i enjoyed prometheus a lot more than aliens
Prometheus was better than Alien, but not better than Aliens in my opinion, which can't be topped.
Hold on a second! Alien and Aliens are critically acclaimed and most people see them as the only good Alien films. However! You think Prometheus, a critically panned film is better. That makes you unique individuals! Wow! I wish I thought Prometheus was better so I wasn't part of The Herd™.
very good, anon.
why are you talking like this? I'm just telling you what I thought. Prometheus was slow and mysterious and unnerving, much like the first film. The second film is just a dumb action film that turns the powerful xenomorph into a bug that can be easily killed. the ending is terrible too. That's just my opinion it's not contrarian
shut the frick up moron
>The second film is just a dumb action film
Isn't it weird how a "dumb action film" is smarter than a slow pretentious one?
prometheus was a moronic try at destroying everything that made alien good by overexplaining and demystifying anything even remotely intersting about the universe, implying xenomorphs not being some mysterious alien race but rather a result of human/android experimentation/weaponization. the most moronic part being a fricking character named peter weyland being on board the fricking ship.
>by overexplaining and demystifying anything even remotely intersting about the universe
not even done and actually confuses everything even more
>implying xenomorphs not being some mysterious alien race but rather a result of human/android experimentation/weaponization
you're thinking of alien covenant, an awful film but not the film I'm talking about
>the most moronic part being a fricking character named peter weyland being on board the fricking ship
what's your problem with that? you've said it really snarkily like you don't have to explain yourself but the thematic undercurrent of the whole film ensures that it makes perfect sense with the plot
>what's your problem with that?
it's ridley scott's lame attempt at over-explaining and trying to "marvel-universe" the alien franchise even more. it's him going "see guys? this is where that name comes from! it's the guy from the evil corp! get it? winkwink". if it were just a standalone film, there's no point in giving that character that name.
I'm not defending prometheus, but the company name in the comics/books/games was always from a merger between weyland and yutani corporations which were named after their founders. But that was also long before they had discovered the xenomorph or space jockeys
your problem with it is on the tiniest of whinging nitpick levels. when it comes to the film itself and the ideas its presenting weylands inclusion makes perfect sense
no i get why his inclusion makes sense in prometheus, i don't dislike prometheus as the movie it is, i dislike it for what it does to alien and aliens
i'm fine with prometheus opening up a dozen questions of its own and i don't think i would've minded at all if the mala'kak had its own design, i just simply dislike it happening at the expense of the original two movies' mystery
thats fair enough
Prometheus' ties to Alien is its worst part and biggest baggage, im pretty sure it would've been better received if it was just a standalone vaguely lovecraftian horror film about some mysterious black goo. It'd be easier to ignore characters acting batshit too
>"marvel-universe" the alien franchise even more
care to explain?
also them fricking showing the space jockey and runing any mystery behind it instead of just coming up with its own concept, but no, it's gotta tie-in to alien!
>also them fricking showing the space jockey and runing any mystery behind it
it shows you what the space jockey was whilst also opening up a dozen questions of its own. Why are you writing in this way? relax, we're adults talking about a film, not floppy-wristed homosexuals at theatre having a catfight.
the entire thing is based on Giger art that implies Engineers and Xenomorphs are part of the same life cycle, like caterpillar butterfly or the often cited wasp and caterpillar.
It wasn't demystifying shit you ignoramus just expanding on the implication of the original art work.
If you were a real fan and not some mutt moron you'd know this.
I honestly feel like Prometheus is as if Ridley Scott filmed a masterpiece and then filmed an absolutely moronic piece of shit, then randomly edited together scenes from the two into a single movie
this actually makes a lot of sense because if you swap in all the alternate scenes and put the deleted stuff back in, it's a much better movie
what happened ironically is they pandered to the same morons itt criticising it.
Basically the sequel would be a homage to the french animated film La Planète sauvage.
>it's a moron shares his stupid opinion anonymously and rightfully gets mocked episode
I've seen this rerun too many times
>Wot if District 9 again...but this time Ripley wears a xeno mech suit
Blomkamp was a complete hack. He had one good idea and he's been trying to copy/paste the same thing into different stories since.
he's one of the most creative directors working today which make studios nervous as frick
he's swinging for the fences with every film
they're not all gonna land
you peanut gallery looking homosexual
Why does this give me an erection
Because you are a homosexual, alright?
It's a shapely female form, and she's clearly in the mood.
This is the movie we truly needed Neil to make
Where are the xenomorph characters and their bios?
the figures on the top where utter shit
These I'm tracing but I make it looks like animuh pics are so shit
ESL kun are you daijobou?
yeah, western anime style is utter shit
You know who finds Xenomorphs scary? My grandma.
They need to actually make aliens scary in modern day, maybe incorporate elements of slender man in the design or make them animatronic and instead of a ship make it the scary Backrooms universe.
If he had a real writer than the movie would be good.
He's a great director, his scripts just suck and/or half assed.
>refuses to make a movie out of my Jonesy fan script
frick off
VENOMMMMM
I want one.
with all the hate that alien 3 initially (and in many cases rightfully) got, something that doesn't get talked about enough is how moronic the weyland yutani commandos looked
they had the colonial marines right there to steal from.
???
Why didn't they try and make friends with the aliens?
Befriending your rapist is not standard behavior.
You sure?
But what about the based Alien 2: On Earth? Such a good movie, too bad the audience and critics at the time did not understand it... They weren't ready
NO,it would have been absolut garbage.
The same problem Terminator has, hack filmakes grew up with a movie, when they get their hands on the property, they add nothing new, there's no vision, there's no stakes, it's just a rehash of the same story over and over.
They made terminator 2 part 2 with terminator 3 and then, they went ahead and did terminator 2 part 3 and 4 with genesys and dark world or whatever these movies are called
>they add nothing new
That's not always a bad thing.
Certainly better than Covenant and that other shit but better than District 9?
After seeing Dune, thats the sort of aesthetic that should be married to Alien.
Especially the Harkonnen would have been a perfect portrayal of the Engineers.
Fun fact Giger did designs for the Harkonnen that ended up getting recycled in Prometheus.
Bros, how kino would it have been?
pretty shit. Remember that this is what they did to jurassic park
Finally, a historically accurate western woman from the 2010s.
The alien is freaked out and goes home
