They were going against two astroturfed israelite/feminist slop. It didn't stand a chance but it's truly the best movie I've seen in years. Pure SOVL. I think MI8 will make double the money and get back on track
She was a bit annoying though. Ilsa, Alana and Paris are better.
Thinking about it I don't even get the point of it all.
These are franchise movies either way, why pretend that a two part installment makes any difference?
It didn't even really end in a cliffhanger the only diversion from the other movies is lower stakes in the final action segment and the bad guy getting away.
It was a great film I really enjoyed but people were busy watching Barbie and Oppenheimer and Indiana Jones which also flopped. So yes people were too busy plus

much as I appreciate Tom for being one of the last holdouts against pozzed garbage, every Mission Impossible since Ghost Protocol (which was great) has been too similar to Ghost Protocol
I agree. They're great movies but they all blend into each other and have the same tone and style plus I think they should tone down the power of friendship shit with his team. I feel like Woo not wanting to make MI3 fricked up everything. They had a winning formula with 2, Tom was poised to create the new James Bond in Ethan Hunt. MI2 was a huge success, outgrossed The Matrix X4. Just keep that same style and you have a money machine. Woo didn't want to, he scrambled and went the opposite direction in making it some grimdark slop that grossed less and no one cared for. MI4 brought back the franchise and they're operating on not shitting where they eat and keep the same formula as that. I feel like Hunt is almost an NPC at this point, he never had the charm or individuality he had in MI2. If they kept with the original plan, they'd blow Bond out of the water (still do) but truly surpassed the Bond franchise. I feel like they leaned too much into the team dynamic and Ethan is too generic now. The rest is great though

I LOVE the Mission Impossible franchise BUT I hate J. J. Abrams. Everything he touches turns to shit and he knows how to ruin stuff. I do not get why they always let this israelite make movies.
Philip Seymour Hoffman was such a great actor but Mission Impossible 3 just sucks. I have seen every movie of the franchise countless of times but I have seen 3 only ONCE because it actually bored me and it just was not a good movie which is super sad because I guess the story was not bad? I do not know, I do not remember anything really but sadly Abrams ruined it like he ruins everything. Pisses me off so much.

Nah Fallout had a lot more character drama, it felt noticably different.
MI: Fallout was far better. Dead Reckoning was mid.

MI2 Ethan compared to the rest of the movies is like a completely different person. He was like a cooler, Y2K era James Bond and I remember people thinking he mogged the Bond movies of the time even before Craig.
