Is this movie actually pandering to conservatives, according to some critics? Based on what little I know of the plot, it seems the entire movie is a barely-veiled socialist screed, if one simply replaces "wishes" with "money."
Seems like an old school moral. There is an arbitrary line that everyone knows shouldn't be crossed(using evil magic book) and the moment you do, you're completely irredeemable and deserve whatever date comes your way
