If tomorrow I tell the press that The Dark Knight Rises is better than Batman Begins, or that The Batman is better than Batman (1989), nobody panics, because that's all part of the plan. But when I say that all of it is capeshit, well then everybody loses their minds!

But Joker burned half of Harvey's face before burning the money

  5. 2 years ago

actually it was batman who burned him, inadvertently, by choosing to go for rachel instead. but joker lied about the locations to create a chaotic scenario... you gaygtos never saw the movie did you?

FUN FACT: at the top of the pile of money there is Lau writhing in pain, screaming at the top of his lung from the most painful and slow kind of death. Good thing he wasn't wearing his mic.

I only realized this on my third watch. Thought the movie just forgot about him but the fact that it's not given much attention other than a couple of seconds on screen makes it even more morbid than it already is.

Fun fact. In the Vietnam war only half of the land was napalmed by the U. S.

What did he do to piss off Joker so bad anyway?

        Anonymous

He was a squealer. What's really insane is that he used Batman to bring him back to Gotham so he could kill him. How the frick else was he gonna get Lau?

Why bother when he's well out of the way?

Because. Lau was a squealer. Now whether he would have squealed if he hadn't been arrested is the question. But the pieces just happen to fall into place

Seems to be the Joker's power, to always have the pieces fall into place perfectly.

I don't have a problem with it. It looks like they tried something similar in the 2019 Joker movie. Like before he goes full clown mode he just seems to be a clumsy loser who gets shit on by everyone but by the end he's somehow inspired the city to riot in his name and he just rolls with it. I hope we see more shit like that

If Batman couldn't or wouldn't bring Lau back, the mob wouldn't have hired Joker in the first place. Batman is the reason Joker was given power by the mob

          >be a goon
          >get told to burn millions of dollars that could very well go into your pocket
          >guy who tells you is some skinny rando in a clown costume
          >still do it

If this movie were anywhere near "realistic" the goons would just have shot the Joker and took the money for themselves. Why didn't Chechen just promise part of the money for whoever killed the Joker?

At this point Joker has gone from effortlessly robbing mob banks to blowing up police headquarters and getting away with it. He has become larger than life. When he tells people Gotham is his city now they believe him and try to get the frick out. Probably he told his guys to forget money and just take what they want, Gotham is all theirs, and just like the civilians they believe him.

maybe it was when he made all his team kill each other... maybe it was when he made two guys beat the shit out of each other to join him soon after... i don't know I just think gotham henchmen are moronic

      This

All of his henchmen were Arkham inmates and lunatics they probably bought into his philosophy

Even if you were one of his sane henchmen you wouldn't last a second before his other goons shot you and set you on fire

Now that i think of it it's like he did everything in his power to get his henchmen killed or in a situation where they would be killed. The only ones who might've survived are the goons that pretended to be hostages. Other than that being a Joker henchmen would be fricking awful
