Dreamworks Animation Crisis

You homosexuals told me they where doing better than Disney...

>“DreamWorks Animation reduced its workforce by approximately 70 positions. Roles affected were across corporate functions, feature, television and technology departments as part of an overall cost-reduction,” a spokesperson for DreamWorks told Variety.

>As a part of cost-cutting measures, DreamWorks is shifting away from producing films fully in-house and will rely more on third party studios, Cartoon Brew reported.

        Company wars are stupid
I genuinely love plenty of DreamWorks' films and The Last Wish really did exceed my expectations but anyone who bought into the "DreamWorks Renaissance! Frick Disney!" hype train is a moron

Indeed. And speaking of which I don't believe in the Disney Revival era nonsense either. A lot of those movies have the same shitty cliches that this board is complaining about for the recent movies go figure.

Disney Revival is a hoax and movies like Tangled, yes I went there, are shit. Only queers liked that boring trash movie. And don't get me started on Zootopia with the whole diversity agenda.

As for Dreamworks, the last movie this board hyped up for them was Bad Guys and I thought it sucked. It was ugly and I hated everything about it, the idea of criminals being given a chance they don't deserve to be part of society bothers me. I just didn't like the premise.

I legit thought Ruby Gillman was based on some graphic novel.

based. Disney hadn't been good since ratatouille or wall-e

Stop gaslighting. Elemental made less that Toy Story 2, a film released 20 years ago.

To be fair, a lot of the reactions from the Wish trailer were
        >the animation looks unfinished
        >the villain is actually right
Also they admitted it could have been 2D but killed the idea, so it’s not all positive with Wish.

Nah, at least Ruby Gilman ends with the villain imprisoned while Raya forgives everyone. Your obsession is clouding your vision, you’ll never see an hour long analysis of Ruby Gilman’s flaws like Raya got online.

Dreamworks has always been hit and miss. They made Shrek but they also made trash like Bee Movie and even their successes like Boss Baby? Those are abysmal. Just because Dreamworks has a few decent films like Puss Last Wish or the first How To Train Your Dragon doesn't mean much.

They aren't dying but I don't see them ever becoming truly good. While Disney has their Old Glory from a bygone era, Dreamworks only has a few choice select movies that are legit decent. And if Dreamworks continues being a miss they will become another illumination and that's no compliment.

Lel they already are Illumination-tier. The only 2 great films they've made is Antz and Shrek 1. Everything else is mediocre or meme.

They do have other slightly nice movies to watch like Prince of Egypt (though I understand if not everyone likes that movie especially with what's going on with israelites right now in Israel). But yes overall Dreamworks is kind of meh. To me it seems like Dreamwork's only claimed fame by mocking the sincerity of movies Disney made back in the day like Lilo and Stitch. Dreamworks had movies that mocked, ridiculed, and parodied that old values Disney used to have (it wasn't until How To Train Your Dragon that Dreamworks made a movie that had genuine heart).
