I've tried to watch this movie. Tapped out 15 minutes in. What the hell is the appeal? Do you have to be le cinéma d'art et d'essai connoisseur to find this shit enjoyable?

I think I turned it off right after they broke into some house, and started beating the shit out of people living there. It went on and on and I just tapped out because watching it was tiresome. Maybe I'm just a simple minded peasant, but I can't remember any other movie made me do that.

Teenagers are legit more frightening and dangerous to be confronted by in my opinion, when you realise their ability to understand the consequences of their actions is severely underdeveloped. An adult nugget with a knife is usually going to be a rational actor but a teenager will kill you before they realise their gravity of their actions.
They're menacing precisely because they look like gays but could still cut you to little pieces if they wanted to. They rape and kill several people over the course of the film.

In 1960s Britain that was considered long hair, and anything that deviated from the accepted norm was considered a freakshow. To Brits of that era, it's as freakish as a modern-day drag queen in bright color.
i never could get into this movie. it feels like an incoherent mess. like it wanted to be a warriors rip off or something except failed miserably. it tried to be shocking and scary but it's just comically bad.
that being said i am a kubrick fan. EWS is my fave of his.

Yeah but that's not a good thing to have to watch it five times to get to the end. I was disappointed. I think it's a beautiful movie but kinda pretentious and overrated. Maybe I should go back and watch to see if I still feel that way.
Watch it again. Had the exact same reaction the first time I saw it. Now it’s my favorite movie of all time.
