I cannot believe they let you do this in the USA it sounds awesome. In Canada if you do 2 years in CC they give you about 0.5-0.75 years of university max just to fleece you for more tuition.
Yes its fricking bullshit. They can charge whatever price they want. Colleges/Universities don't even care about domestic students, they just want more international students so they can charge 4x the price. Not to mention most of these students can barely speak English let alone French, they are just exploiting an immigration loophole.
what are you talking about? I turned my 2 year diploma into a 4 year bachelor of technology, they just let me enter in 3rd year. now I'm applying to masters of engineering programs
They gave you 60 credit hours? Not how it works at any of the Universities in my province. Entire reason I didn't do CC. Best I ever saw was somewhere willing to do 30.
>B-b-but Anon, staying in your hometown for college is for losers. I want to study in NY or LA and then abroad in Europe while living on campus. >w-what do you mean I'm 80k in debt for an English degree?
>>B-b-but Anon, staying in your hometown for college is for losers. I want to study in NY or LA and then abroad in Europe while living on campus.
this is the real reason why people get so in debt for college. they love to go to the most expensive school in state when another cheaper option is available, or they travel abroad for their learning and then are saddled with debt. university is not that much of a crippling debt if you work part time and choose the good priced schools.
It's just a good setting for a sitcom. It's a non contrived way to get lots of people of different ages and backgrounds together and have them need to spend time together.
its the best choice though and vastly underutilized. CC have a high fail rate though because really only rejects and senior citizens go to it so most end up dropping out.
but if youre not a reject or a retarad, its a great way to save money.
He was bored and wanted companionship, particularly with young people. He didn't get along with any of the people he'd had business successes with. Pierce has never been snobby about who he hangs out with, and if he went to an expensive college he'd actually have to do hard work.
Kind of. It's easy to forget because he gets flanderized as the show goes on and eventually turns into a weird manchild who can barely take care of himself, but in the beginning his character was retired after a long and successful career. He was just bored and lonely.
Best episode. Both plots are funny, Pierce is at its best, unhinged Jeff is always kino, Rich is a great antagonist, the Arrested Development guy is hilarious.
College is legitimately a great social experience, it strips out 90% of the bullshit you deal with in high school >most of the people you have classes with share your interests >people are more comfortable with themselves so a lot of the shitflinging is toned down
College made me so much more confident and affible
well thats good for you. but i was rapped in college. i missed my period in college. i was abused in college. i was tortured and humiliated in college. go frick yourself
>apply for FAFSA >get FAFSA >get free money for college >go to community college >get used books or pirate them >pocket as much money as possible >claim it all on taxes >making money attending school now
Whoa. >apply for a bunch of grants >apply for a bunch of any type of free money >scholarships >can claim much of this on taxes
Whoa. >the most reliable indicator of net worth is higher education
Whoa. >an Associate's is the new high school diploma
Whoa.
Loved when the show was more grounded with just enough zaniness. hated homosexual abed and how eventually the entire show is about everyone capitulating to his every autistic need so he doesn't have a homosexual childish break down
Agreed abed has an episode episodes where definitely some of the worst, especially when a lot of the characters that were against Abed in those episodes were in the right but people just acted like abed was completely innocent. Also the show flip flopping between making pierce a good guy and irredeemable butthole was annoying
I did 2 years of community college and 2 years of uni.
Community:
60% boring professors who can't get a Uni job who just sleepwalk through their lectures.
40% Enthusiastic "retired" or new professors who genuinely love teaching you
Uni:
60% fricking pretentious hacks who just want you to reverberate their ideologies back to them until you believe them yourself
20% Enthusiastic teachers who want to help you learn
20% professors who don't give a frick
All for 4x the cost of community. I'll take community college every day. Cooler people also.
>waste of money
no it's cheap as shit
waste of time if you're studying psychology or something. some CCs have tradie programs with pretty much guaranteed employment though
Cinemaphile Cinemaphile show when?
sadly shelved again due to the writers strike
Makes as much sense as going to trade school or getting an even shittier job. Shit is pretty cheap to get into.
CC you can do the first 2 years for free basically. then go to your state school for 2 years. graduate with almost no debt.
but then again thats for smart people.

damn that's shitty. in Canada a class at a college is the same credit as at a university.
Where do you live? This obviously varies regionally since 2 guys in this thread were able to transfer a full 2 years and another 2 were not.
not him but in quebec i was able to transfer 60 credits from my american CC, was pleasantly surprised
BC. But I did an actual diploma program at CC, not just random upgrading classes
yes i got 60 credir hours. What did you take and what program denies your full credits?

It's a 10/10 setting for a sitcom about a bunch of down-on-their-luck losers of various ages and backgrounds who have to band together.
Why was Pierce at Greendale again? Surely he could have invested in a better college? I think they explained it in the show but I don't remember.
He was bored and wanted companionship, particularly with young people. He didn't get along with any of the people he'd had business successes with. Pierce has never been snobby about who he hangs out with, and if he went to an expensive college he'd actually have to do hard work.
So pretty much big fish in a small pond mentality
Kind of. It's easy to forget because he gets flanderized as the show goes on and eventually turns into a weird manchild who can barely take care of himself, but in the beginning his character was retired after a long and successful career. He was just bored and lonely.
It's really wholesome whenever they let Pierce give some fatherly advice to someone else in the group.
Best episode. Both plots are funny, Pierce is at its best, unhinged Jeff is always kino, Rich is a great antagonist, the Arrested Development guy is hilarious.
He's just there to make friends with younger folk and keeps starting and dropping classes so he'll never graduate.
He got kicked out of every college on the west coast for racism. IIRC his most recent college was Utah and he kept saying their old mascot name
Cinemaphile is a /chang/ board

Not my experience at all, at least from what I saw most treated it as high school 2
>affible
too bad it didn't make you a better speller, you fricking moron
Do you not have anything better to do with your life?
Actually, that was a dumb question, of course you don't.

Good job filtering yourself moron. Save those idiot HR prostitutes some time dealing with your moronic ass.
for FAFSA
>>get FAFSA
>>get free money for college
im doing this at state uni. theyve been sending me $2k in checks every semester.
cant you just apply to them anyway? they will probably hire you 2 years of expeirence is not a lot
Chevy Chase more like Chevy Based, Dan Harmon is a pedo homosexual and Justin Roiland went to Epstein's Island

That's narcissism you're watching.
yeah, show turns to shit in s3, Abed is suddenly a tard and all the le dr spacetime muh imaginarium shit is awful
i used to think this and then i actually rewatched community and realised everything except the wacky stuff or overwritten banter is awful and bland
For me, it’s the Dean
