my parents arent moronic though, being older and wiser they now understand having children while gratifying and fulfilling was never necessary. Despite being proud of their kids, they've realized they never had to roll the dice for anyone and every reason they did was self serving. That's the thing, though. It isn't right. When my grandma got bedridden I fought the fricking hardest not to put her in a hold like my mum wanted. I cared for her for a year before it got so bad I couldn't cope alone anymore. Guess what, she didn't last a couple months in a home, and a real expensive one at that, cause the wagies there just don't give a shit. I don't wanna fricking go like that.

I think a lot of people don't realize that nurses and people who work in old folks homes and are responsible for keeping you alive care about as much for making sure you're getting the right medicine and vitamins as a teenager at McDonald's cares about getting you the right amount of fries or not putting pickles on your burger.
