frickin loved this show. it holds up to rewatching every so often.
but I also understand why fans of the old shorts were disappointed. It's not quite as sharp. Still good though. and I fricking love Pony
also his post-show stuff is just not good anymore.
Sclopio Peepio was a dumb idea that he should have more firmly told them wouldn't work. It's like every single episode is interdimensional cable, it can't be done. though 'i stay naked' was a funny sketch.
I mean, you have to admit the shorts had something the show didn't. it wasn't the same. If that's specifically what they wanted, then they didn't get more of the same exactly. It's a perfectly valid view. I just happen to like both.
>but I also understand why fans of the old shorts were disappointed
I don't. Frick the YouTube short diehards.

It's great, but Baby Cakes going from Idiot Savant whose ramblings made sense when you thought about it to just "Haha, make pants out of bread in case you fall in a lake of SOUP!" moronic really did take a little bit of the fun away.
I also liked it better when both brothers were effectively "equals", with Steve being cooler but Frank being more competent, over the full series making Steve better at everything and Frank a total loser.
I mean he did both, let's be fair. And it would have slowed the show to a crawl if he sat and had really long musings.. but.. it would have been nice if perhaps they had some of those spread out into the background of the episode.
I thought the frank-steve dynamic was amazing, but it was also growing thin by the end.
what I missed most was the music, but we DID get it here and there. the gorilla one was so great.
I initially was disappointed because it was different than the shorts (like even the eyes looking different bothered me). But the show really grew on me, I like it a ton. Going to watch again soon.
Yeah Harg Nallin' Sclopio Peepio was a huge disappointment though. I thought that a show full of shorts would work because of his Youtube stuff, but it just wasn't very good from what I watched.
I liked the politics because they would say what the allegory was representing was super obvious but the fictional problem they had to deal with was complex. It was a funny twist.
I guess that's always the problem with covering political subjects for the viewers who disagree they will not find it funny. Although thankfully the show was only political a handful of times.

it would have worked if they just weren't so demanding. A man cannot think up that many unique shorts on his own. Get a TEAM. hire all the great web animator peers. Have them take turns.

Yeah, if they did that it could've been amazing. Having him come up with everything in a short amount of time was doomed to fail.

I remember when a higher quality version of this existed
Been a while since I've seen series, but here is what I remember
Season 1: Was a mind trip sometimes, but still good
Season 2: Peak. The China Man episode had me in tears.
Season 3: Meh, I remember kinda forcing myself to finish it off.

Both very minor complaints, though.

I'm with you, by the third season the characters had all been flanderized.
I agree, its also the show I have rewatched the most

I love her more
I always liked the mundane getting progressively more absurd as the episode continues
yeah that was good.
hell just about the only thing I didn't like was their rancid politics, but it was expected for an adult swim show at the time.

okay
but the things were wrong though is the problem

yeah. it stopped well short of becoming obnoxious

Wish there was a full version of the intro song

Doubling the run time ruined it for me, the episodes just fricking dragged on at a certain point
oh yeah they did do that. that was a mistake. and i hate to say that because far too many shows have the opposite problem
>toy movie 3 was almost 14 years ago

I wonder if the harper house is any good
wow, i didn't think it was possible, but this rings like.. one-third of a bell. what the hell is it
in his defense there was no indication that that was the title.
whats this show called? it looks kind of weird but its probably good
Really bro?
its actually just called China, Illinois
