The frog will make a third movie to adapt the rest of the story until the end of Messiah and call it quits.
There is a TV series in the works about the Bene Gesserit. I imagine it will fail.
Perhaps the studio will want to capitalize on the hype and hire someone else to direct God-Emperor but I sincerely doubt it.

They will definitely make the rest of the series into movies, it's made too much money for them to ever stop. The question is how long with Villeneuve be involved, and as soon as he's not it will stop being good

This is the most likely scenario, Denis sounds interested in doing Messiah but that'll probably be it, and then someone else will take over and it'll turn to shit. But the studio will absolutely milk every ounce of story from this IP now that Part 1 and 2 were so successful

I doubt he's gonna make that book justice. The way he treated Chani's character in part two gives me a really bad omen for Messiah.

    >What's next for Dune.
    Pain.
    >Shortly after its announcement, the project received criticism for its lack of female creatives except for Herbert's granddaughter, Kim Herbert. Dana Calvo was hired in July 2019 to serve as showrunner alongside Spaihts. In November 2019, Spaihts left the series to focus on Dune: Part Two (2024). The Hollywood Reporter reported that Legendary Television was "not happy" with Spaihts's early work as showrunner and opted to remove him. Diane Ademu-John had been hired as the new showrunner by July 2021.As production of Dune: Part Two progressed, Villeneuve was no longer able to direct and replaced by Johan Renck as director for the first two episodes in April 2022. Shortly after production began, Diane Ademu-John had exited the project as co-showrunner but remained the executive producer; this left Alison Schapker as the sole showrunner. In February 2023, Renck also exited the project, resulting in the project being on hiatus. He was replaced by Anna Foerster that June, who would direct multiple episodes, including the pilot. In November 2023, the series was retitled Dune: Prophecy and set to release on WarnerMedia's new streaming service, Max.

Dune is such an incredibly boring and generic sci-fi shitshow that I couldn't even get through the porn game. It's so incredibly dull. I don't give a shit about any of these people.
It's such a chore to play that I dropped the game shortly after leaving the first building. The Dune autists are fricked in the head.

I don't know. I feel that on the right hands, it could've been something on the level of the best epics of all time.
The potential is there, I can feel it with the setting, but it needed a visionary director and a relatively unknown cast.
Denis is a soulless director that wasn't cut for it. And the movie filled with so many known faces didn't help.

Based. Best version. One can hope that after Hackeneuve has fricked his cash cow into the ground, we can have a second theater-pilled chad with a budget this time.

It is cheap, but not awful.
At least it feels more like Dune than Dunc.

And the series is on YT but the good version only in torrent.

I have to say, Lynch's Dune had an amazing soundtrack; and what surprised me the most is that it was composed by TOTO of all people.

Reposting my effortpost from another thread.

Listening to some guy on YouTube and he says Villeneuve is now one of the greatest Sci-fi directors of all time. That seemed off to me, which made me realise Villeneuve isn't a Sci-fi director at all — he doesn't show any real interest in Sci-fi concepts for their own case, though he's obviously sympathetic and familiar with them. I'd call the films Villeneuve makes 'existential thrillers'. The one's I've seen (Sicario, Arrival, Bladerunner 2049, Dune 1&2) are all mostly action-packed thrillers with a close-up on the existential struggles of the characters — Arrival being somewhat of an outlier though not really. Villeneuve is like a more action-oriented Terence Malick; Malick for the masses. They both portray the world/nature as this giant impersonal entity and contrast that with the smallness of humanity trying to fight its way for survival, purpose, and meaning.
