Doesn't Messiah take place 12 years later? Fricking stupid Villeneuve already ruined the timeline with DUNC 2 if the leaks are true. Who cares anymore?
Like an marvel movie? Sounds about right since the first DUNC was basically capeshit anyway. I just don't understand why he cast Anya when she's like the same age as Timothee.
Paul is precog literally having flash forward visions of a dark future and in the second movie he drinks worm juice that makes him even more powerful. Alia has centuries of knowledge in the womb and the same powers
It's already part of the movie
>Anya Taylor Joy
Way too fricking old now to play prime teen hebe Alia doing butt naked sweaty martial arts while fantasizing about Duncan Idaho's big fat dick.
Is this the one where the Bene Gesserit sned a clone of Duncan Idaho to assassinate Paul and he immediately figures it out? Or was that Children of Dune
Yes, but Children ALSO has a Duncan ghola.
I can’t think of a novel that doesn’t have Duncan in it, in fact. He’s the main character though, makes sense.
Depends, will probably need the most alterations script wise for it to not turn casuals off from it. You obviously keep the paul altredies is twink hitler shit, but It'd still be objectively slower then part 1 and half of the cast of the first two wouldnt be in it. You'd have to add some action scenes, keep jessica and gurney on arrakais and make it come arcross as an actual intense political thriller at minimum
Honestly considering how much of the weird shit from the book that Denis seems to have excised from Dunc pt 2 I'm honestly worried for his Messiah adaptation
I will stay strong, I want to know what happens. Coolest Sci-fi universe I've seen yet.
It helps Dune has two ultra-kino board games, Dune and Dune Imperium that make me want to delve into the franchise
Excellent. Children is not a bad book but it's definitely a step down from the previous two.
In case you plan to keep going after God Emperor the quality also goes down in the last two. Things get pretty weird. Particularly the first part of Heretics is a slog but afterwards they are pretty good (not excellent) books. I personally also think the "muh massive cliffhanger" claims are exaggerated, but there will definitely be loose ends, so consider if you're ok with that before plunging in.
Yeah at the end of God Emperor you have a binary choice:
1) Read the last two books, accept that things will be open ended with stuff left loose. They're not great but there's... interesting stuff
2) Stop entirely and consider yourself done
No, I'm going to go all in. I've already experienced Dune 1 four different ways (Graphic novel, Villenue movie, David Lynch Movie, actual book) and crave more, so I intend to see it through. I'll probably even read the Hunters and Sandworms stories Brian wrote that take place after chapterhouse.
I will not fear, fear is the mind killer.

here. I haven't read Brian's end to the series but curiosity got the better of me and I read a plot summary. It was so moronic I can only be glad I didn't go for it. You do you but the universal opinion is that they are shit, so I would advise stopping after Chapterhouse.

do people think Dune 2 is going to make enough money for another movie?
aside from that cool lego ornithopter set I am not aware of any new toys or merchandise.
ice also yet to see any slight bit of buzz about the upcoming Bene Gesserit TV show.
Dune Messiah is about as exciting and action packed as a Shakespeare stage play. This is a strong case of "you think you do, but you don't." They'd have to take so many liberties and pad it out so much. There's a reason it's dubbed the epilogue of the first book rather than respected as an individual work.
I'm so sick of seeing that bogged alien in every movie.
its a movie about aliens
there are no aliens in Dune, humanity is alone in the universe
Hopefully they'll recast Paul and Chani and Irulan.

It might just be an extra scene at the end teasing the timeskip or something

I liked Messiah the most, more focused and less I AM THE WATER OF LIFE
agreed
mystery plot is also good
>all that bullshit with the rhyming midget
Ugh.
That lil guy is kino
We will be there.
Pretty kino if done RIGHT
>no infant Alia being sassy while dunking on everyone around her
Dead on Arrival.
DUNC is aids, it's all aids!

Cast ChapterHouse Dune
Nobody read that slop
Cinemaphile is too smart for that shite
>Imfrickingplying that they will follow the books
I mean I doubt it, but God Almighty would it be funny

>kino
No. You know fricking well Alia will be a girlboss and not the teenager who super wet for the ghola
>Chalmet watching her train naked and thinking about boning her
>Momoa actually boning her
Kino
what will her mutant cheeks look like when she's 500 pounds during alia's harkonnen phase
The only good dune book is the first one.
Wrong!
Correct!
Yes. The book was amazing and it isn't a surprise it was originally meant to be part of the first book.
Honestly considering how much of the weird shit from the book that Denis seems to have excised from Dunc pt 2 I'm honestly worried for his Messiah adaptation
What if she's a Paul vision of the Honored Matre
I wish
Everything after the 1st Dune book is giga trash. Don't waste your time
The Dune books get worse as you go on so no. Dunc Part l wasn't kino.
I just finished Dune Messiah and it was great
Not too thrilled so far on children of dune though
The wall before you get to experience the megakino that is God Emperor. Stay strong brother.

ami missing something ?
fricking autocorrect on my keyboard just messing me shit up
frick them hoe ass machines
Absolutely. It's projecting an opening of 65-80, US domestic. That's Oppenheimer numbers and that just barely missed breaking the billion mark.
Dunc 1 did 40m but that's because it was heavily suppressed and had weak tail by being day one streaming.
Sounds like it should be renamed to "Dune: The Wall"
