As far as journalists go, Jeremy Parish is legit. He might look like a hipster twat (though "hipster" in the 2000s sense rather than the modern weirdos), but he is 100% the real deal. Largely normal as well. One of the few gaming journalists from his era who's both still around and also never sold out to the sjws. Someone told me he was at PAX years ago trying to organize a 16-player game of Faceball 2000 on Gameboy, but no one was interested lol. If I had known about it at the time I'd have joined, so we could have at least gotten a 2-player game going lol. But yeah, generally just a decent dude and very much sincere in his passion for gaming and gaming history.

I think CIA agents just decided it would be a perfect ground for testing their new manipulation tactics. Did you notice how first in 2010s it was a "geek culture" popularization stage and then in 2020s it was the replacement stage? I noticed a lot of the same strategy happening in all kind of communities. They popularize thing, then they fill the thing with insane lunatics and tell you if you're not ok with these insane lunatics you are no longer a part of the community, and so half of the people are just exiled and other half go away on their own because they now have a bad association of their old interest with insane lunatics.
