Wow who wasn't excited for Falcon to become captain America instead of Winter soldier like he did in the comics
Falcon becoming the new Cap isn't the problem at all really. The biggest problem is that the last scene of Endgame with Rogers giving him the shield and passing the torch was better when it was just left as that. No one and I mean no one wanted to see anyone else go on in future movies as Cap unless it was Rogers, ultimately. It was a nice nod & slow clap moment in Endgame regardless how you felt about Falcon etc. All good will was destroyed when Marvel gave us future content with Sam. It was pretty much doomed from the beginning.
>It's not a problem so long as I never, ever have to see it
It's a problem and the movie will fail because of it
Apologist for smarmy pandering. Despicable.
True. And for those of us that mistakenly watched Falcon's tv show, he didn't even want the fricking thing. He was mad at Cap even for giving the Shield to a black man without thinking of the added responsibilities and hurdles blacks have in today's culture.
Why didn't Falcon give Bucky the shield if he didn't want it? Instead he gives it to the government and gets pissed when they give it to the new Captain America (a patriotic war hero is the shows villain somehow). Showrunner wrote & directed the film, btw.
>Falcon becoming the new Cap isn't the problem at all really.
it is because anthony mackie is not leading man material
If they really wanted black cap they should have given it to Don Cheadle
Don Cheadle is ugly as a sin and old as frick, Mackie at least isnt a sore to the eyes
>it is because anthony mackie is not leading man material
Yeah, I'm still upset that he solely killed Altered Carbon season 2, he is a charisma black hole, its impressive actually.
I agree that the ending of Endgame wasn't an issue.
The terrible, preachy tv show killed all possible hype though. And you're right, nobody was excited for Sam to begin with. He's been a boring character (in the mcu) since his inception
I think plenty of people had enough goodwill to give Sam a chance right after Endgame. He had been a decent character up to that point, his relationship with Steve was good, it made sense that Steve would pick him.
Then Falcon&WS happened and it just made Sam look fricking terrible. He cowered away from taking on the role of Cap, then acted like a pissy b***h when the government gave it to someone that actually wanted it, then cried about raycism, then was finally convinced to become Captain America, using tech he got from another country, and then ended things with that clueless "do better" speech. That's no way to make people excited about him getting his own movie. And of course the general state of Marvel just doesn't give people hope that anything will be good anymore.
The action was good, and I loved his rapport with Bucky, but yeah. The show was a mess. Would have been better if he was suited up as Cap from the get-go. On top of that, they killed Batroc. Sam already had a budding rivaly with Crossbones that blew up in Civil War, but Batroc was a good replacement until they shot him.
Marvel famously kills off all their villains. That's probably why they love the concept of Kang so much, you can kill him a million times and wipe any creative backlash away with alternative timelines.
That's also why Secret Wars didn't have a shot in Hell at being close to comic book accurate (all the Heroes vs all the Villains). Look at Thunderbolts. Again, all the bad guys are dead, so you get a team of anti-heroes.
Just imagine if they had properly built up the Masters of Evil in the background before Endgame, and then immediately afterwards we get a Thunderbolts movie. Comic fans in the know would see the twist coming, but you could play with their expectations too. The MCU was never 1-1 with the comics anyway, but with a little foresight it could have been a phenomenal start to the new overarching story. It's just a waste now..
I'm not that versed in comic lore. But I'll tell you this: Ultron is a character that needs multiple versions (2.0, 3.5, etc). A one and done Ultron is a waste of the character.
I recently rewatched winter soldier and bucky taking away cap's shield and also stopping it with his hand as if it fits him ust perfectly foreshadowed his new role after redemption
And then they gave it to usual human, the least cool mcu character
Meh
It’s getting axed.
making a red cgi hulk harrison ford is just a stupid idea anyway. don't know why they thought to do that
I'm perplexed that Ford spent almost his entire career making solid decisions and almost always choosing good roles and now in his dotage he's just like "yeah whatever write me a check"
Let's be fair, the man just wants to fly his civilian light aircraft, he'll take any role giving him more money for his passion
Based imo
They should have grounded him after that last crash.
Ford has been phoning it for literal decades. He hasn't done a decent job since the '90s.
He was good in 2049, but that seemed to be because he considered it a worthwhile film and didn't want to be the weak link. Whereas he never liked the Star Wars films and didn't have the energy to fake it for episode VII and actually wanted to be killed off. I think he's actually kinda trying with the Indiana Jones movies but they just waited too fricking long and he's not at the point physically where he can do what he needs to anymore. Indiana Jones is a reckless scrapper who gets the shit kicked out of him constantly. You can't realistically do that with a guy who's 70+., at least if he's not taking Stallone's roid regimen
I haven't actually seen a lot of his more recent stuff because it's streaming and I don't subscribe to shit. I guess he did some western show with Helen Mirren for Paramount that sounded kind of interesting but I have no idea if it's actually good or not
>You can't realistically do that with a guy who's 70+
Yeah Ford is 81, and it shows
He already looked senile in 2049. Id even say that meeting with deckard is when the movie goes south.
The first half is, as the kids would say, 'a vibe'.
Believe it or not, I'M NOT HOME
>He was good in 2049
I agree, but it will forever make me laugh how he just showed up in a regular t-shirt, as if he just randomly wandered on to the set one day.
I'm so glad he got to do BR2049 and that it was good.
>BR2049
>Good
lul. lmao even.
I fricking hate that director and almost all his movies but 2049 was great.
Tom Hanks is another one doing the same shit. He even has an Apple TV show. He said he wants to be in a Marvel movie one day. They are just cashing their checks, they all basically gave up and want money except for based Cruise
>main photography lasted three months
>they will reshoot for five
What?
They're literally scraping everything and remaking the entire movie from the ground up. They're also redoing all the CGI. They're calling them "reshoots" because admitting that they burned through an entire production budget for a major marvel movie and had nothing usable will tank the stock. Which makes sense because goddamn is Marvel fricked. Disney has somehow systematically destroyed every IP they own over the last 5 years and it's insane.
sounds like they're putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to quality by going back and fixing the issues, what are people angry about?
Reshoots are perceived as damage control rather than an increase in quality.
Indy 5 flopping translates to "Harrison Ford not a bankable star"
he's a fricking grandpa. was he supposed to have the same draw as when he was a young chad?
No, which is why that movie was a terrible idea and they should have either recast Indy or scapped the idea altogether. He was already too old for the part in Crystal Skull.
>he's a fricking grandpa. was he supposed to have the same draw as when he was a young chad?
It's stupid. He's just lumbering around looking super old. It's a joke, nobody cares about him anymore.
kek that reads like literal comedy
>Harrison Ford, demoralized, says lets shoot this piece of shit
>Other guy, enthusiastically, misunderstands and says yeah lets shoot this shit!
What the frick is senile Harrison Ford doing in this now? Also why is dey fly now homie the new Captain America? He doesn't have super powers does he?
Harrison Ford is an butthole. It would be the ultimate butthole move for him to die now
You need to do better senator
Capeshit is my guilty pleasure but there is a zero percent chance of me watching Blacktain America
If only there was some kind of inkling that turning adventure stories into something twittard girls would like was a bad idea...
I won’t watch the Black person movie.
Mackie can't carry a movie. No amount of reshoots will fix his lack of charisma.
>Mackie can't carry a movie. No amount of reshoots will fix his lack of charisma.
It's also the case that people don't want to see movies of a sidekick. They don't make Jimmy Olsen movies.
The TV show was middling and that was carried in part by Sebastian Shaw.
The show wasn't a shit how is this movie going to be a hit.
You had Ms Marvel as a middling show, how did The Marvels box office do?
>They don't make Jimmy Olsen movies
It'd be too kino. No one wants Jimmy to mog Superman. And you know how Hollywood is about redheads.
it didn't help that the writers gave him the most moronic storylines
>why didn't you come and help us with our family boat businesses???
>i was *literally* saving the planet
>yeah well i am a black single mom, i know about multi-tasking
>you are right
>hey can i get a bank loan?
>no, you have no income from the past year and you are black
>i was erased from existence by a purple alien just like half of the universe and i am on the team that saved this planet multiple times and the literal galaxy
>yeah sorry you are black
wtf kind of moronic writing is this? shit like this why I didn't care for the writers' strike
Or my favorite bit
>You politicians are doing a terrible job.
>What should we do then?
>DO BETTER
>flies off
These same bozos thought Quantumania would be a hit. Watch this somehow be kino
i can't understand how any of you homosexuals even watch this capeshit. its so boring and gay
I was excited for this. I don't care if it's all over the place in terms of quality, that's what made Doctor Strange 2 a fun movie.
Try to give us goyslop and it will goyflop.
>tfw Black person Cap would cost them 400+ mln at the very least
