Batman has and will continue to get his ass handed to him in DC. I’ll be the first to admit that because I’m tired of other Batgays being so damn insecure over something that’s happened multiple times already. I enjoy Batman being flawed. I really don’t know what the frick is wrong with them.

Yeah, that's why Batgays hate Year One.

I llove Batman but he isn’t perfect though…He’s gotten humiliated multiple times by Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash…etc. Even in the dcau he’s gotten slapped by multiple characters and has been sent to the hospital quite a bit. I feel like people who say this tend to hyper focus on Batman’s success but ignore his losses and vulnerability because you’re mire accustomed to the latter.

Making Bruce an Arkham is genius. Could tell a lot of stories with that.

Matt Reeves went that route as well. Also had batman call himself "vengeance" like Johns did and made Alfred a grizzled veteran who trained Bruce. Clearly quite influential

It grounds Batman to a more manageable level since now he just has military training instead of knowing every martial art under the Sun, real and fictional. That and he isn’t this hyper competent Super-genius.

Honestly one the better Bat books of 2010s. Loved Bruce becoming less of a shitheaded youth after the first one and John's Bullock was a fun spin on the character. Also really liked Killer Croc being an ally. Bruce needs more fully reformed villains. Cinemaphile seems to either love or hate Gary Frank's art depending on the day, but I love his stuff ans he shines here like always. Only real complaint I have is the absolute dog shit design for Catwoman.

It had a strong beginning and an okay continuation. The final volume really fricked it up. It felt like it was cramming too much at once.

I don't know if I'd call Croc a reformed villain if he wasn't even evil in the story.

Earth One in general is pretty great. I'm looking forward to seeing it growing more.

      >Earth One in general is pretty great
Lmao, no. Only GL and Batman have been good. 5/13 is not a good track record.

What's your problem with Superman and Wonder Woman?

          >Wonder Woman
Blackwashed Steve Trevor into a nog. No surprise considering Grant Morrison is a mentally ill troon

            >Steve Trevor was always sort of this boring, blonde, blue-eyed dude and that just didn’t cut it in the modern world. I wanted some diversity. But I also thought that was a much more potent idea to have Steve Trevor as a Black man. It’s much more powerful in the context of everything that Marston was doing and everything that Wonder Woman is about.

            >In a story that has to do with chains and bondage, there is a lot more resonance by what we choose to do with Steve. When he arrives on the water, we wanted to do a complete opposite of [Sandro] Botticelli’s [The Birth of] Venus. When Steve rises from the water, he’s in the position of Botticelli’s Venus. His parachute is around his feet like the half-shell. He plays a feminine role in the story but I figured that Steve Trevor was always too feminine to play the feminine role that he did. And that’s why he became boring and just fell into the background. I wanted him to be much stronger and much more ambiguous because through the story, we can never tell if Steve is lying or not. The story is about truth and lies and a lot of the characters lie. We wanted ambiguity and we wanted tension and we wanted drama.

            Lmao
