CW-tier garbage reimagining that has nothing to do with the character beyond the name. I don't know how they managed to filter Carnage of all characters through a onions filter but they did

I can think of a thousand more buzzwords to describe that homosexual rendition of Carnage and every single one would be completely true. He acts and looks nothing like the character traditionally does and feels like a low budget compromise. He's even doing the cheap tv show thing where the character's gaudy plain clothes outfit os a reference to their costume instead of just wearing one. Read some comics before posting again.

Woo boy, there's a lot to unpack here. First, you can't call this "CW tier" because on those shitty shows those are nothing but excuses to work around a budget. Here its still an origin story that hasn't completed, so I don't know why you equate the two. Secondly
          >He acts nothing like the character
You mean a deranged psychopath that gets his jollies off over death, chaos, and the misery of others? Seems pretty on point to me.

But I'm more concerned that you're either bored and just trying to entertain yourself through instigating, or worse, you're having a bad day. I hope not. I'd be happy to explain why I think this is a valid take on the character. Surprised you're so upset to, as Cinemaphile in general writes off comic Cletus as a 2 dimensional bore

Why did you completely ignore everything I said? Also I do wish you well.

Everything he said made perfect sense, though.
That being said, I have no clue if he's right because i don't know where the image comes from.

I'd disagree with him, obviously, but he's entitled to his opinion of course. OP image, specifically left, is the Insomniac universe Cletus. His gimmick in that version is making a series of bullshit cults, letting them run their course of murder and chaos through manipulating impressionable people, then moving on to start again after everyone is dead/arrested. The cult he runs in the game is just a bunch of nutso arsonists

              >Here its still an origin story that hasn't complete
The cope for all adaptations that change a character entirely.
              >It's an origin story just wait ten more movies for him to wear the costume

We're not talking about movies though. He's going to be Carnage in either DLC or that Venom game. Movies cop out on that shit all the time, and it is bullshit

And I do wish you'd read some comics if you think this character is anything like the comic character. You probably don't even really believe that strongly you just want to save face. Recency bias is making you think loading Carnage up with the worst of 2020's writing cliches is better than the worst of 1990's writing cliches. People don't give a shit about what he was doing before getting his own living costume they want that to be his introduction and Spider-Man has to team up with Venom to stop him from hurting people. That's the appeal of the character. Nobody likes any of the corny shit they've been trying to reinvent symbiotes as lately.

I said it was an interesting take, and yes, classic Carnage is two dimensional. That's not even a hot opinion around here. I feel like you're giving me pushback not because I said that, but because I'm complimenting something recent in the first place. And who said anything about anyone liking Avengers level threat Knull fueled godlike Carnage? Now you're just being silly. You know I can't even keep track of the multiple Carnage's running around right now, and I think its just dumb that he essentially ate Hydro-Man.

He looks like the singer from Passion Pit. Some California gay designer unironically thought Cletus Kasady was too high test to relate to. A sad state of affairs when even the supervillains look like they could get their asses kicked by the average anonymous poster.

When has Cletus ever been "high test"? He's always been a skinny tryhard ginger

That's a weird take on the character, I guess characters have had different takes and evolved before and Cletus is pretty much a barebones serial killer otherwise. But it really sounds like him becoming Carnage would make his entire backstory pretty fricking irrelevant. He's a conman with a cult angle, how will that factor into becoming a Symbiote especially since they already blew their load on Symbiote invasion?

It's from Insomniac's even more cringe sequel their Spider-Man game

A tagline only a redditor would think is brilliant. The alien costume makes people into weapons, too.

That's just common sense, anon. Not sure what's "reddit" about that. And he's getting his alien costume.

Do they even show or explain in detail how he manipulates people into joining a cult or is it lazy like comic writing where being "CUHRAZY" is s convenient excuse for him to have or do whatever the plot needs

Starting a cult is surprisingly easy. It's a con artist practice of social engineering where impressionable or desperate people are given self-destructive structure. They're given a sense of purpose based upon a false doctrine/teaching, security of feeling right about something, rewarded with a community of like minded people, punished/conditioned to instill a Stockholm syndrome, and often comprised of people with a long list of previous issues.

How many cults have you started?

Jokes aside you're right, I am being a dick for the sake of humor. I hate this version of Carnage but you're entitled to like it and I don't think you're a bad guy. Sorry if it messed with ya

No worries, it's what I come to expect from here. Appreciate you just for liking Spidey in general, which I'm sure you're aware is hard for several reasons these days both with the ASM book and the threads we have to deal with.

Granted the jury is still technically out on Insomniac Cletus, as we still need to see what he'll look like and what he'll do. Kinda hoping for a mix between his Spider-Man Unlimited cartoon build, and the Ultimate comic warm glow he had.

Hopefully they at least make him look cool. It's rare that an alternate look works for symbiote characters.

So kind of like Maximum Carnage, where Carnage got everyone to riot as a weapon against the city.
You're right this is such an original take

          Anonymous

That wasn't a cult or even by Cetus's design. That was a riot of people taking advantage of Carnage's disorder and the fear that was running rampant in New York. He didn't even give a shit or know about it, he was hanging with Shriek and Doppelganger

            Anonymous

It was caused by Shriek's powers, who was subservient to Carnage.
And Carnage leading a cult is nothing new either anyway
