There's something primal and fun about edge, yes it can get old fast, but because it's such simple fun, it's the kinda thing that survives and you always return to
Speaking of edge, I noticed edge in older media used to be "VIOLENCE! NUDITY! GORE! KILLING PEOPLE! COOKING BABIES! SHOOTINGS!" etc... Y'know real basic crude stuff. Whereas now, edge just means "saying a socially disapproved opinion about politics/sociopolitics"
It seems like our world is desensitized to everything... Eveyrthing except wrongspeak
And that's kinda depressing, because while, yes, saying "I like/dislike [political thing]" is a more surefire way of making people cry and piss their pants nowadays than say, drawing a big titty monster with guns for arms mow down a buncha kids, it's just not as fun, it's boring, it's like if actual edgy creativity was food, then edgyness-via-wrongspeak is like the pill you can eat that instantly makes you full. Yeah it's efficient, but where's the soooooul, man?
I liked hazbin hotel despite how much singing was in it
>we live in an era where politics have gone fricking insane, due to the interwebz >the writters didn't wanted to exploit that, out of fear of getting ganged by mentally ill people
Man..Postal 4 was such a waste
>we live in an era where politics have gone fricking insane, due to the interwebz
Ive said it once and ive said it again, certain groups of moronic people should not have social media access or internet access at all. Social media like tumblr radicalized all these white women into feminist SJWs while facebook radicalized boomers and karens into being trumptards via minion memes
>'karens' >the internet radicalized these people into [radical group], and radicalized these other people into [supporting the current US president] and those two are comparable!
uh huh....
that aside, i agree, the web should have a natural filter on it of needing to know how to operate a computer in order to access it, this used to be the case until smartphones
i believe the world has a sort of natural barrier where the easier something is, the worse it gets, and nothing, no amount of trying to turn an issue of quantity into an issue of quality or arguing with old speaking points like "b-b-b-buh your ancestors said the same thing in the past, so this can't be true now, because issues in life don't progress forward, they just appear and disappear!" will convince me this isn't the case
making something too easy to do makes it worth less, end of
same thing with voting and politics in general. a good society is one where everyone CAN vote and get political, but they need to know how and be incentivized to be interested in doing so. teaching idiots and morons that EVERYTHANG is political and EVERYONE needs to go out and vote NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW! was also a huge miss steak
>the internet radicalized these people into [radical group], and radicalized these other people into [supporting the current US president] and those two are comparable!
Yes they absolutely are comparable with how nutso trumptards are. For as much as they claim to hate SJWs theyre just as backwards and puritan and censorous as they are
>certain groups of moronic people should not have social media access
Agreed, except nobody should have social media access. Social media is an inherently moronic idea that actively makes the world worse by existing.
>or internet access at all.
pretty much yeah, the move from computers and the internet being seen as mainly nerd shit that normie morons didn't know how to use to the iToddler-friendly landscape of today was the single worst thing to happen to global society in the last 20 years.
it's the natural conclusion of edge media in general, more especially that the 90s and internet brought that kind of niche stuff to a much more widespread audience. so WHAT if your show features a baby set on fire? there's so many shows, comics, games, etc trying to outdo in the other in being shocking and offensive that it all comes into the same sludge
stuff like Superjail or Korgoth or other media in that vein of edgy hyperviolence is fun because it's a form of absurdism, it was never meant to be taken seriously and it's not trying to push some kind of message about the subject matter, it's just using it as a tool for comedic impact. The "say a polarizing political opinion to get kneejerk reactions" version of edge is pretty much the polar opposite of that, it's using the excuse of comedy to try to make some kind of point that the writer wants you to agree/disagree with.

Man..Postal 4 was such a waste
Postal 4 sucks for many reasons, and honestly, only half of them have to do with how mechanically un fun the actual gameplay is
A game like postal just doesn't work in the 2020s because the world moves to fast. Back when P2 came out, things like Al Qaida or outraged moms trying to ban violent vidya were things that were actively relevant, and they left a huge impact on the world
Whereas now, the most long-lasting thing Postal 4 has, is a covid joke... They should've just focused on more generalized cultural things, like general world insanity, and given up and naming this stuff, especially since they hardly even made a commentary on it, it was just "haha it's funny cause I recognize that!"
Those devs lost their edge AND their ability to program, it seems
Weird, since Postal BD ran and played amazingly (but I still hated the humor in that game, and I died a little inside at the "Karen" bit good god, who's responsible for that?)
Wholesome shit is so tiring and bad. I hate how so many cartoons are like that now where theyre just bland and sterile like summer camp island or craig of the creek or we bare bears

So... Post edgy cartoons?

I have to agree to a certain extent. Social media has legit brainrotted the world
Invader zim is probably the best nom tv-14/tv-ma edge cartoon

I prefer edgyness and edgygays over wholesomegays any day of the week
Wholesome shit is so tiring and bad. I hate how so many cartoons are like that now where theyre just bland and sterile like summer camp island or craig of the creek or we bare bears
>Edge in Cinemaphilemics and cartoons is good
I guess it would be, if it could be demonstrated to exist...
2/10 lacks effort
>lacks effort
I know, right? It's easy to say what true about what's in front of you.
Looking at my favorites, I vastly prefer what's considered "edge". It's more fun and more interesting.
