I fell for the meme and saw this last night with some friends telling them it was "different than your average sci-fi". Honestly found it pretty underwhelming, the cgi looked like michael bay transformers shit and I genuinely didn't care about any of the characters except for Tom.

>I genuinely didn't care about any of the characters except for Tom.
Tom has limitless charisma and mogs everyone else, this happens to all of his movies.
I thought the pilots in Top Gun all did a good job. And The Last Samurai had a nice supporting cast too.
>average sci-fi
what does this mean to you
just that it was a little bit more interesting than "generic alien invasion against space american military"
I was fooled by reddit
>I was fooled by reddit
Go back.
>generic alien invasion against space american military
well edge of tomorrow is pretty much that, it does have time travel but most sci fi movies have some kind of hook to stand out
>I was fooled by reddit
you are a fricking moron, i dont trust ANYONE´s opinion, ever, trustiong another human beign is one of the worse things you can do.
>Redditor
>moronic opinions
Checks out
not enough black people
>the cgi looked like michael bay transformers shit
Excellent then?
>genuinely didn't care about any of the characters except for Tom
Only cared for him and the woman. If you didn't have an urge to protect her can you really call yourself a man?
>If you didn't have an urge to protect her can you really call yourself a man?
I honestly didn't but I liked her character anyways, film was kino.
The rest were supposed to be seen as disposable, by the nature of the film.
There are literally only two characters to care about. Blunt and Cruise. And the CGI is incredible.
>its another anon acts moronic in an attempt to appear different episodd
you told them it was different than your average sci fi even though it was your first time seeing it? are you moronic?
>I found something you liked and I didn’t really like it
All fields this upvote homosexual plz
>saw this last night with some friends telling them it was "different than your average sci-fi".
>Honestly found it pretty underwhelming
So you changed your mind?
You got filtered, happens to the best of us.
Ok I must be running a fever because that thumbnail looked like a dick across a mouth.
Stop watching porn.
Imagine getting filtered, the movie has a terrific presentation... terrific.
>We don't need an Alpha, we have the next best thing
>points to Tom Cruise
what did they mean by this
Angel of Verdun prequel when?
This is the kind of reaction I would expect from someone who waited this long to watch a Cruisekino
more like edging till tomorrow
John.... your wife.... woof.
She's way hotter than Buzz's gf, homosexual.
Wtf is it with mutts and liking these box faced fridge bodied dutchie looking specimens. Just find a man to frick.
Because they are dommy women and its hot
>t.low test soilent consoomer
>0/10 would not bang
Get over yourself
sickly males prefer overweight females with large breasts that can nurse them.
healthy males prefer slim and athletic females because they can keep up with them.
The average woman here now weighs 200 pounds. Even a halfway fit 6/10 is a huge step up from that.
>telling them it was "different than your average sci-fi"
But you didn't see it, so how would you have known? I think you are right though. I really liked it. It had a good mix of action, humor, and an interesting story to keep it going. Also the acting was pretty good. It had a good ending too. Man, now I want to rewatch it thinking about it.
I'm afraid to rewatch it, I really liked back then and I might not today.
I rewatched it recently, I felt it was still good.
I rewatched it during the lockdowns, still a blast
It holds up, don't worry.
I rewatched it last month, still great.
I liked it.
I like bong faces tbh. People like Emily Blunt and Keira Knightley and Daisy Ridley and Keeley Hawse and Emma Watson and Lena Headey and Emily Mortimer and Sophie Rundle and Heather Peace and Anna Friel and Polly Walker and Aimee Lou Wood and Kate Winslet and Emilia Clarke and Felicity Jones and Holly Earl and Natalie Dormer. Theres just something more appealing about bong faces.
I'm sorry anon, but you've contracted The Gay. Maybe it's time to take a long vacation and buy an expensive golf set before...you know...
I'm bald if that matters
It's a neat idea that would be perfect fora 30min short film. Stretching it out and adding muh notgay love story was moronic.
>makes promises about movies he hasn't watched
Which is better, Edge of Tomorrow or Oblivion?
Edge and is not even close
Oblivion
I would say they both make for a good Tom Cruise, sci-fi double-feature.
how did his leg not get fricked up there
His Thetan levels are very high.
Ah that had to hurt.
Can't bruise the Cruise
if this happened to a zoomer they'd probably have to amputate
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII NEED TO KNOW NOW
Imagine if she picked you up and carried you around the room lol
It's Tom Cruise sci-fi kino.
Pretty impressive but the combat in the film was an uninteresting clusterfrick.
whoa outstading
I know it'd be hard to pull off pratically but I'd really love to see a battle of power armor soldiers as their meant to be in the books. Where they can run faster than any olympian, and each step is a bounce of 8-10+ feet. Or even the jump troopers in book starship troopers who use their jets every step to fly hundreds of feet when advanced and attacking all the while. These guys, while still cool, are puny in comparison
Also those homosexuals that made the game Prey (2017) completely stole the alien designs from this movie.
Oh, I guess we'll take your word for it using our imaginations.
Lost invented smoke monster in 2004 you dumb underage homosexual. You were 4 years old when Prey 2006 came out too.
Don't talk ignorant shit to me again.
https://www.pastemagazine.com/games/prey/5-movie-aliens-that-probably-inspired-preys-monste/#the-thing
>probably inspired
Holy shit you were born after 9/11 frick off mongoloid.
>Prey 2006
The only Prey. Sequel got canned, sadly.
got canned because it was generic trash that nobody played, same as the new version
no version of prey was ever good and if you liked any of them, your brain is diseased
(You)
there was a smoke monster in star trek
It would have been great if during that training montage that Tom shot her in the face and killed himself afterwards.
Edge of Tomorrow is a fun movie. I like fun movies. What are some other fun movies?
John Carter
Warcraft
Valerian
John carter is kind of ok, really close to edge of tomorrow.
But of the list is fricking sucks.
I'll always remember it as the movie I saw where a black family got kicked for sneaking into the theater
There are a hundred reasons to dislike the Transformers movies. The CGI isn’t one of them. The visuals in that first Transformers movie holds up incredibly well and looks far better than the shit Disney lazily pump out every year.
on the technical level yes but I think anon was referring to how the action in transformers is dominated by a sometimes jumbled mess of intricate metal designs with a shitload of sparks and shit flying everywhere. It wasn't as bad in the first movie but it got worse from there. It's not always the most readable even if it's technically well done.
>OMG SHE CAN DO A HECKING PUSHUP, GIRL BOSS MOMENT!!!!
Yeah this part was fricking awful.
>t. 0 pushups
it was just a pretext to have a long shot of her contorting her body, don't look too much into it
>Seeing this and not immediately realizing it was sexual
You are gay.
>I genuinely didn't care about any of the characters except for Tom.
>except for Tom.
Why are you pretending to be a movie critic while confusing the actor for the character.
So do you guys think tom used his powers to...you know
He must've. There is no way he spent like a year in groundhog day celibate.
I!
NEED TO KNOW NOW!
you only watch the movie for the kentucky guy
What about the on your feet, maggot guy.
>Bill Paxton
>"the kentucky guy"
get out
>I fell for the meme and saw this last night with some friends telling them it was "different than your average sci-fi". Honestly found it pretty underwhelming, the cgi looked like michael bay transformers shit and I genuinely didn't care about any of the characters
I strongly suggest to stop watching american movies.
Their industry is tired, their movies no longer have soul, if they ever had.
I watched a small russian sci fi movie yesterday, Sputnik, and the CGI was minimalist but very good. I felt invested in all the characters.
The one twist towards the end wars very well executed and very well foreshadowed (the lady has a scar in a single scene in the beginning that works for the reveal).
That's a movie that doesn't overexplain or take its audience for morons. It shows, doesn't tell, and let you piece everything together.
The jerk type austronaut develops character as the movie unfolds and you feel for him.
Even the antagonist presents a good case about what he is doing and projects enough authority and charisma to get you invested in his point of view.
It's what a movie should be.
I haven't felt with a big budget american movie for a while.
Even the somewhat good Crimes of the future was financed by Canada and Greece apparently. Seems like the US is allergic to funding interesting movies.
Why would you sell a movie to your friends when you haven't even seen it?
>I fell for the meme
not a meme, just what happen when you dont watch movies at their time, its not a meme movie at all, but just like another movies if you couldnt catch it at their prime you cant enjoy them at their peak, just look at how hyped people were for the first star wars and what a success were, go watch it now without all the cgi and remastering and shit and you will find it lame and stupid.
I didn't see ANH until the 90s and it's still one of my favorite movies
>you will find it lame and stupid
Well it is lame and stupid. So are all star wars movies and so is edge of tomorrow.
The last somehow interesting big budget US sci fi movie was Looper.
>Looper
Dogshit
Go fellate TLJ
I just said all star wars movies were lame and stupid.
I don't know how that homosexual directed a good movie but Looper is good. Maybe Bruce Willis and the JGL carried it but it's a very rewatchable movie. The scene where the kid makes the guy explode and the name "rain maker" makes sense is kino. Not a big fan of the ending though.
i liked it, probably one of the better sci-fi films of the past decade. way better than the other "not your typical sci-fi" movie Elysium from the year prior
meant oblivion not elysium, don't know why i confused the two
>catched
I caught it for the first time a month ago and was pleasantly surprised. It's a competent adaptation with fantastic effects and a more or less ideal cast. Not high art or anything, obviously, but I definitely added it to my list of movies to throw on for the boys.
This is a weird complaint and maybe gun autists will disagree but I hated the sound of the mech suits small arms fire. It sounded high pitched and tinny.
Why did you tell people about a movie if you'd never seen it?
Because I thought I could trust the recommendations of my bros on /tvt
what
said
I dunno it's wasn't BAD, I just feel like the concept was let down by the action
IIIIIIIII
NEED TO KNOW NOW
KNOW NOW
CAN YOU LOVE ME AGAIN?
The main CGI guy behind capeshit movies like infinity war praised its CG.
You're just an extremely insufferable person who made his mind that it will suck ahead because you hate your friend.
The movie is decent, but I like the manga better. The story is pretty short and you can read it pretty fast. However the story is different and it's more impactful.
more like Edge of my DICK
>cgi looked like michael bay transformers shit
What do you mean by this. Even by todays standards you wont often find CGI in movies coming even close to how good it looks in transformers
Reminder another one is in production.
