I thought that was typically caused by distortions in neighboring subjects temporal fields? If you just want to come back I’m sure it’s easy. Communicating that to a transporter operator who presumably wouldn’t have knowingly sent you to non compatible atmosphere in a split second without having fully materialized to actuate our still relatively primitive communications tools in universe. Perhaps a changing could modify a transporter so that they can begin movement before transporter is complete. This is obviously built in to the solids transporters and was probably the hardest part of perfecting the technology. Imagine all the inside out snot hog test subjects. That’s first contact Vulcan tech, they were even more brutal than humans, at a time. Or so they say
