They actually have done stuff for moon gundam at least & feel like some f91 is in there along with victory. Probably pulling shit outta my ass for those 2 but moon was real for sure and the game is actually getting released outside of japan now too

How do they actually achieve this? I know the grain us just post processing, but the unique line weights and the small inconveniencies between each line?
if I remember right there's some AI processing involved. I believe same thing was used in some scenes in G-Reco's movies. It seems they're training it and upgrading constantly given every one of these animations has a noticeable jump in quality. I can only assume the end goal is something more than a mobile game's gimmick and we're gonna get some bigger project using this. But that's probably still a good few years away, for now I am content to know there is a genuine effort being made to bring back this style.

Geez where did you hear that lie? It’s not AI, it’s compositing. Every digital anime does that and has been since the start of digital. It’s a separate stage where after flat colors and lines have been done effects like bloom, grain, line textures, etc are added.

there's plenty of awful releases to justify that, media companies don't hire people with autism to go over their releases for quality, it's always about making money instead
