Considering Netflix posted this promo photo of the actor, I wouldn't get my hoped up. Netflix has cut back on smoking in their shows ever since parents complained about how much David Harbour smokes on Stranger Things.
I hope the lollipop is just an attempt at poking fun at the 4kids dub. If they actually censor the smoking in the show then just don't include it at all instead of "replacing" it.
I imagine he won’t be smoking all the time. It’s not like he’s ALWAYS smoking in the manga necessarily either. But there’s a negative stigma to showing someone smoking in trailers so I could see them skirting around those scenes
