Okay bugs Bunny i know that's you
Getting mad someone likes something from your competitors are we?
Probably not as good as you say, but not as bad as people think of it.
What I wonder is, how does this movie cost more than Spiderverse andother movie convined.
If the stuff they are making is so expensive, how do they expect a return? you cant just inflate the budget and expect to make everything back.
>Probably not as good as you say, but not as bad as people think of it.
I really hope the narritive changes from whether or not it's good or bad and over to how every Pixar movie is trying so hard for a gimmick that they end up not telling a story worth hearing. It's like their huffing their own farts about every Twidiot ranting about how Bugs Life is actually about workers rights or whatever.
I'm glad you liked the movie.
How the hell can you consider it a 10/10, though?
The movie is okay. Nice visuals. Weak plot. Ember and Wade were sorta cute, but that wasn't the whole movie and certainly didn't carry it.
I think Pixar is hoping to make bake the yield in merch profits or whatever. Disney isn't just a movie studio, its a theme park, toy company, cruise line, etc.
Because Pixar actually develops groundbreaking new tech for almost every movie, it may not be tech the public notices but from a technical and artistic standpoint this movie is about 2-3 times more impressive than Spider-Verse, which looks like a 00s games at times, it's just slathered in post processing to mask it. Normalgays care for the flashier thing though to no one's surprise.
>technical
Irrelevant, only audiophile-tier autismos care that pixar developed technology that independently simulates and renders every strand of hair in the ugly dirt kid in 0.3 seconds or whatever.
>artistic
subjective but also wrong
they are a tech company at heart.
they mark every movie that isn't an ultrasuccess a loss and it writes off on taxes
It's mid. Wait for streaming if you are planning on watching it, or just watch a camrip. You're not missing much.
Ok. Go buy 11 million more tickets
Good man. Cute romcom, cute Ember, cute freaky earth people pruning, simple as.
What the frick?
At one point, while flying around in an improvised hot air balloon, Ember and Wade float by an earth couple's apartment where they're picking fruit from the trees sticking out of each other, then the couple looks out the window and sees their weird sex thing is being watched. I actually don't remember if pruning was the euphemism the couple used to deny they were doing a weird sex thing, but that happened.
Crashing this shill thread... with no survivors
>THIS GUY LIKE SOMETHING I DON'T HE MUST BE A SHILL SHILLY SHILL SHIIIILLLLLLL
This is why people make fun of Cinemaphile users
>calling people posting on Cinemaphile Cinemaphile users as though its an insult
this is why people know you're an outsider.
They said the movie was 10/10 an obvious lie. Even if you liked it I doubt you would consider it perfect.
God damn, they found a way to make zootopia with even more highly loaded, yet ambiguous metaphors
at least zootopia makes some kind of sense in its own world. this shit is stupid b/c the fire people no matter what seem unreasonable, how are they expecting any acceptance. it's like if we had people running around made of phosgene. they'd be banished to the countryside forever
You know, even people who like woke stuff (at least those who can use logic) hate racism metaphors or allegories that give a logical reason for being racist.
It makes sense that fire people can’t rent or live in flammable homes. She even burns the doorbell by just touching it. It’s reasonable and understandable why they would be denied. It’s not like real life where there’s (usually) no good reason. Like unless they have shit credit or bad history.
it's racism but there's a good reason other than "melanin bad"
>Racism
Looks more like self preservation. The fire people could accidentally kill the grass people at any time. The entire premise doesn't work
We get it, Peter Sohn. You’re gonna lose your cushy job if this movie doesn’t break even
I heard it was alright.
Was it at least better than the mario movie?
>Was it at least better than the mario movie?
Eh.
Mario obviously leaned a lot more on nostalgia, to the point where people probably went back to find callouts rather than to see the movie again. Elemental looks better. Elemental's characters are more interesting. Elemental's plot is more interesting, even if it trips over itself and doesn't tell the best story.
But Mario's more simple plot and more basic characters are more memorable. I can guarantee you that Jack Black singing "Peaches Peaches Peaches" is going to be remembered better than anything Elemental does. I like what Elemental was trying to do, just not what Elemental actually did with it.
It's not awful. If you go to see it, it's a nice kids movie. The biggest thing you'll miss out if you watch a streaming website is that the visuals are really nice, especially the subtle fire effects.
Why do you hate Nintendo so much, snoyboy?
It definitely looks like the most visually pleasing Disney movie in recent times.
I might give it a watch during the weekend.
I'm getting the impression people don't like that I said I loved this movie. Seeing random nerds calling me a "Disney shills" for loving a movie is so weird.
So I'm going to double down!
I absolutely adored this movie. The entire time I was watching the movie I had the widest smile on my face because I loved seeing everything unfolding in front of me. This movie is the absolute peak of animation. I would put it in the same tiers as the greats such as Shrek, Shrek 2, Puss In Boots The Last Wish, and Spirited Away.
To say I was enthused and completely captivated the entire time would not even begin to describe how much I loved this movie.
The highlight of this movie would be the scene where "they have chemistry" with each other. I could absolutely feel the love and intimate passion they had for each other and I am not afraid to admit i had a tear coming out of my eye. To see a display of pure unfiltered affection with not a hint of irony or cynicism was beautifully immaculate.
I would go as far as to say it is THE BEST movie of 2023 and is vastly superior to super Mario Bros. And Across The Spiderverse. I say this with no sense of irony behind it. This is what I genuinely feel and believe in and nothing can ever make me think otherwise
I am absolutely going to watch it again and I can't wait!
>we want fire and water people concept
>but oof, that real physical phenomena gets in the way of our love story
>we're just going to pretend it doesn't exist anymore
Thanks movie.
but every other fantasy concept is ok.
Yes, because they don't just change the rules at the end for no explanation.
This. Even with zootopia, ‘you don’t need instincts to define you and you can push past your instincts’ is more believable than ‘water and fire can mix with no reactions at all’.
ChatGPT can be prompted to write movie reviews now?
Also, how the frick did you choose that video to associate with this comment?

It's fine to like the movie, but anon and anon and I think that you sound an awful lot like a shill. And there's at least a dozen other threads on the movie. So my question is, why do you think your opinion deserves it's own thread, as opposed to using one of the NUMEROUS other threads on the movie?
You said nothing in that post. Why do you like the MC give very specific details.
they put that fireBlack person in her place but sometimes they can't hold back their temper
>shitposting TLW threads because the cat had a panic attack
>shitposting Mario threads because Peach was a competent female character
>shitposting Spider-verse threads because Gwen had a trans ally flag in her room
>shitposting Elemental threads because...
because why? I can't keep up with how shit this board has become.
because it's easy (You)s
>why can't you guys just shut up and consooooooom?
I had low expectations for this movie, thinking this is going to be a reskinned Zootopia and I was really surprised how well this movie really is.
This is Pixar's best movie since Onward. The plot is cliche and it's shorter than I wanted it to be, but I love the environment and characters. Such a shame that Disney is trying to bomb this movie so they can have an excuse to ditch originals and produce sequels and remakes.
>This is Pixar's best movie since Onward.
This comment says so much.
>since Onward
OK, buddy, the jig’s up. How much did Disney pay you?
>This is Pixar's best movie since Onward.
>fire is speaking polish/slavic
Kek
Where you getting that from?
>An important plot point in the movie was that Ember was scared to touch Wade
>Even though she could touch easily flammable things like paper with no ill effects
Like I said here
it should have been a short. In a 5-10 minute long movie you don't think about this shit. In a 90 minute long movie you can only suspend disbelief so far before you lose the adults.
>>Even though she could touch easily flammable things like paper with no ill effects
Yeah but
shows you can set things aflame even when not intending to. This film’s premise was fricked from the start.
It could have worked as a short. It looks like it's for babies and that's why adults and teenagers didn't show up. It really sucks that Disney let Pixar frick up Lightyear so bad because they're not going to survive back to back flops. Pixar haven't had a hit since Coco, and now they're probably going to get folded into Walt Disney Animation Studio.
porn of ember?
I hope there will be. Soon, in abundance, and on-model.
> you wouldn't frick fire
Well I would if I could!
The movie was meh sure, but seeing all the reactions and videos of how woke or whatever it supposedly was is obnoxious.
It had 1 nonbinary character nobody would recognize, and if it had any gay couples, they werent noticeable either. People always have such a victim complex.
>deliberately ignore the message of the movie to autistically obsess over the made up rules of the fantasy world
If the Rules of your fantasy world collide with your message in a bad way, you fricked up your message.
it's not about touching each other it's about being honest with yourself.
Ember and Wade can touch each other, even hold hands and all it does is release some steam at first.
That steam is Wades body evaporating away.
And then later he changes chemically to where she doesn't cause that anymore
HOW CONVENIENT
Yep it's a stupid cop out. But when you've tied your elements movie to a race metaphor that is part of your coping session over your dead grandmother. You gotta do something.
He literally handwaved away the fact that they can touch without fricking each other up with "we changed our chemistry when we touched". You can tell they really had no idea how to resolve this issue that they imposed on themselves.
That would need some imagination. Like the fricking flower that can live in all environments.
>if only there were real life phenomena we can draw inspiration from
Acknowledging a dead white German dude's contribution to science is against everything Disney stands for
But that's not what he said happens. He's now chemically different. So he's got less a chance of beating her to death now I think.
Right, because the writers didn't know what the frick to do to resolve this issue, and it's not like they're going to research any chemistry or physics to see if there's anything they can use. So magic it is.
>trust me I'm a scientist
>He's now chemically different.
Uhm... how? Is he now made out of molten lead or something?
It was declared so. Don't question it.
again, Ember & Wade being able to touch/their love subplot is neither the message or goal of the story.
Cept it is because it tied back to racist fire granny's deathbed declaration.
Then what is the goal of the story?
her father's wishes are not her life.
Don't listen to your parents.
I mean, yeah. Even if your message is good, if your worldbuilding is sloppy your movie is still shit.
Is the message that we should risk death in order to frick some fire?
It's hip to frick fire.
Look you can’t have a story about race not mattering when you use it with metaphors that physically do mater in interactions
>to autistically obsess over the made up rules of the fantasy world
NOOOOOO you shouldn't care about irrelevant details like worldbuilding!
Message is nothing. Delivery is everything. There's thousands of shit films with a message
any good r34 of the fire girl? she's hot
Just a tad over 40 smut images.
Shit's dead on arrival.
First bit of the film is an "immigrants can't speak the language and are given generic names". What the frick?
when will disney start making polls, asking people what they want to see and then use nasa ai to make that animated movie in just a month?
Biggest "please just don't think and consoom" thread I've seen in a while
Don't care. Never watching it
>fire elements can control if they burn people or not
>other elements don't trust them because they're still made of fire
>ember can't control when she burns people because of her temper
>she learns to control it as she interacts with wade
Movie plays out the same way, the discrimination becomes unwarranted rather than justified, and no need for special magic fix. Pay me, Pixar.
I was hoping that the post-credits would reveal that the whole movie was just a story Violet Parr was writing for her literature class.
That would explain the writing.
Wade has a comically punchable face. It’s why me and my sister made redesigns the moment we saw the actual characters and they were way better
Don’t slander Wade! He is cute.
