Elseworlds Ideas

This idea of a BatLex came to me while I was thinking of this panel, and was spitballing ideas of how to merge the Trinity into "one book", so I came up with this. It's in the vein of Speeding Bullets, but I think it's not that bad. Anyway
>the Waynes are killed, Bruce included, so the fortune is divided and absorbed by other corpos
>Lex is still the same Lex, an evil c**t determined to leave his mark on the world
>you can make him be distant relatives with the Waynes to keep the connection and give him the jet black hair because ginger or bald Batman doesn't work
>uses manipulation and his intellect to get on top of the world as CEO of his own tech firm
>however Superman in this AU is a "villain"; he's an Eradicator/DCAU Brainiac mix where Kal-El was infused with the code and sent to Earth to prepare it for terraforming and colonization by the remaining High Caste Kryptonians hiding in the Phantom Zone
>he's still adored as Superman, but he's merely LARPing, trying to make everyone dependent on him so that he can take over and transform the world into what he must
>Lex tries to fight him through PR means, realises it's no use, he's too perfect
>decides to expose him or frame him, frick him either way
>starts using his shady connections, gets into secret societies, starts training, does some light magic, meets Ras, etc
>adopts the identity of Batman to build up cred as a detective exposing crooked businessmen, mad scientists, travels the globe taking out monsters, etc
>starts liking it, is still doing it for selfish reasons
>Wonder Woman is basically the Wild Storm version, I liked it and I think it fits here too
>BatLex is actually respected as a hero while still being regarded as dangerous by other heroes
>mostly a loner, does eventually join the League as Lex becomes more public and starts working during the days too, to drive home to Superman that he's not afraid of him
I think it'd be a neat AU. You get the Bat/Superman and Lex/Superman rivalries both at once.

I had a rough idea in high school for a Universal horror inspired DC
    >Batman is Dracula and has the same origin but is turned by Ras who’s basically Nosferatu
    >Superman is a play on Frankenstein by being an alien corpse revived by Lex Luthor
    >Wonder Woman is the Bride (maybe made by Lex who used magic along with science)
    >The Flash is the Wolfman (I couldn’t think of a fast monster) he’s turned by Eobard Thawne. Who is a murderer obsessed with Barry Allen, he’s an inspector
    >Aquaman is the Gill-Man with a little Rikuo from Darkstalkers thrown in
I couldn’t think of anyone for the Invisible Man, Jekyll and Hyde, and The Phantom though

Ha no kidding, funny coincidence. Is it straight horror cause my idea would be it’s got horror elements but Clark does become a hero. I never figured out if he should actually regain full brain power like the creature in the book, or be more like the movie version. But I guess the latter makes him too much like Bizarro

Yeah pretty much. I've had some ideas for fiction that over time I've discovered to already exist. I guess there's only so many unique concepts one can come up with.

I was thinking of J’onn for Invisible Man but it seems limiting for a guy who has so many powers. He’d fit more as a Lovecraftian monster who takes on a human disguise lest the people he saves go insane after seeing him

For Jekyll and Hyde I think Etrigan works better cause a part of the story is the physical transformation Jekyll goes through. But I do like the comparison with Two Face who works more in the psychological aspect of the character

With the Phantom I don’t think Deadman would work since he’s already a ghost and the Phantom is just a normal guy. It might be my love of the Question but I actually think he might work cause of his mask and how it covers his entire face. I’m not familiar with purple Phantom so I can’t really say much about him

I was thinking of something like this but more modern horror
      >Superman ends up as a Leatherface after landing in a degenerate cannibal family farm
      >Batman is a high society serial killer kinda like American Psycho only its not in his head
      >Wonder Woman is a Predator-like hunter who goes out into the world of man to get trophies
You could have their "villains" be the survivors/final girls that have to take them down or escape

I’m digging this man. For the Wonder Woman idea I think it would be a good callback to Predator 2 if Steve Trevor beats her and she gives him a sword or something. And Superman but as a crazed hillbilly cannibal is way better than the other evil Supermen out there. Also: Patrick Batman

Wait Blue Beetle but not a traditional mummy though. Jamie is part of an archaeological dig in Egypt and finds the scarab, which is a cursed artifact, and it fuses to him. Owlman Beyond.
Mysteriously not dead Thomas Wayne Jr. takes hoodlum Terry McGinnis under his wing, half as one last game to play and half as one last "frick you" to the world for no longer being afraid of Owlman.
On top of all that Thomas killed Terry's dad and framed Derek Powers, and the finale of the first season ends with Terry discovering the truth and having to get revenge on Thomas while also taking over his mantle and empire, all without Thomas knowing that Terry knows because the old Owlman could probably still easily kill the new one.

I was thinking the event that caused the crime Syndicate to crumble and the world to become a better place (instead of the usual Beyond dystopia) was the standard "Justice League show up, beat the crap out of the CS, hand the world over to normals" event so Terry would know about Batman, at least.
One of his antagonists could be a Court of Bats, a society or cult that venerates the Batman that saved them from the Syndicate's tyranny.
Even temporarily playing as Batman for an episode would definitely piss off his mentor (since he lost the first time around), which could be useful in the grand scheme of things.

            Anonymous

Nice I think that plays into the idea of Batman being a symbol. Terry seeing it and taking it on himself, and this Court of Bats doing the same in their own way. I’d also love the back and forth between Terry and Thomas once the former becomes Batman
            >Hey old man, like the new threads?
            >You do know I can still kill you in over 50 ways even at my current age.
            >Ooo I’m shaking in my cowl Big Bird

I do have one question about Terry’s Owlman Beyond suit though. Is it in the same vein as the BB suit or does it take more from the other Owlman costumes?

              Anonymous

I'm very fond of the Crisis on Two Earths look Owlman had so I think of it as a combination of that and the BB suit, the BB suit up to the head (with Owlman symbol on the chest) with the head having staring circle eyes and the owlish crescent instead of the bat ears.
Just having these cold, unblinking eyes staring out from the darkness at an opponent feels appropriately terrifying. And then since it's like the BB suit you can see him grinning, too.

Oh yeah I’m loving that image in my head especially with the eyes. Two Earths Owlan’s eyes are one of my favorite things about that design. So combining it with the Beyond suit, another design I really love, makes for a great suit

I know you (me too) are into the idea of Terry becoming Batman due to a Crisis story crossover but I’ve been thinking. And I think there are two other ways to do this story that could be interesting. Both have the setup you have with Terry deciding to undermine Thomas after learning the truth but there’s a split. Either Terry decides to go against Thomas by just overtaking his whole criminal empire and becoming the new boss, so still a criminal. Or becoming a hero as Owlman changing the public’s perception of Owlman as a criminal mastermind to defender of the innocent

                Anonymous

I just like the idea of Owlman Classic vs Owlman Beyond (hero or otherwise). Imagine how pissed Thomas would be if the persona he created to terrify the innocent is becoming a symbol of justice and hope

To me people like Cap or DD are the best kind of street heroes because there's more stakes involved. Spider-Man still falls into that, but he needs powerful villains in order to really break a sweat.
Cyclops with a well-placed shot can outright destroy Spider-Man's main rogues gallery, he's a bit too OP for street level.

Agreed but they still scale to Spider-Man and would be a threat to someone who is only "peak human". I don't have a proper set up yet, but I've always wanted to see an AU where Bruce doesn't LARP as a playboy, but takes the Tony Stark approach, and marry that with a more horror-esque Batman take. Meaning that in the mornings Bruce is a titan of the industry, sworn to make Gotham the true City Of Tomorrow, heading his company as a brilliant scientist and businessman. And at night he dresses up as a demon knight to take out all sorts of sorcerers, secret societies spanning the globe, occultists, mad experiments and whatever other goes bump in the night. I think that the juxtaposition between the bright world of Wayne and the primordial and evil world of Batman would really be something interesting, and there's very few characters that can be used for such a take. Beyond Batman you have, what, a heavily reworked Iron Man, Doctor Doom, I guess an X-Files-esque FF akin to the Marvel Knights issues and I think that's it. Batman can tell more stories than just crime noir, and I wanted a world where Bruce truly has a plan beyond just being a manchild stuck in the past.

Honestly, I just really want to see that juxtaposition of Y2K styles. The clean, all-white and blue lights aesthetic of futurism in the Wayne segments, and the black leather neo-Matrix mixed with Gothic and S&M horror for the Batman parts. Both working in tandem to tell one complete story.

Thanks anon. I've got a few ideas in my head but I'm mostly struggling with how far far to go with the supernatural limits. And how many stablished rogues to use and reimagine. As I've said, I'd really not want this to be another crime noir thing with the same gangster types, so certain characters will need either heavy reimagining, or would just go unused.

Please make this into your own original superhero because I want this to be more than just an au

I'm blanking on a cool name and theme tbh. I guess I could revamp The Phantom like that since it's public domain, but I think this story works with Batman the best due to the already established devil-like iconography. Otherwise I'd call my OC "The Demon" or something generic like that. I suppose I could work on this fanfic in my head and then maybe try switching a couple names around later and see if it can stand as an "original work". Not that it'll ever see any light of day, but just to brainstorm and pass the time.

As a way of playing on the moronic level of importance that Batman has in modern DC. How about a comic where Bruce Wayne is the literal Antichrist? Batman meets The Omen

Owlman could easily destroy the DC universe if Batman in particular didn't interfere with his plans.

Is that something Owlman is known for? I’m most familiar with him from Crisis on Two Earths and the recent Crime Syndicate run. In the latter he seemed more like the standard idea of an evil Batman

That's why we need BatOmen, a version of Bruce where the hardships in his life are caused by his existence being cursed by God, where Joker is the latest re-incarnation/avatar of Jesus

i feel bad dedicating mental energy to thinking up stuff like this knowing i am wasting time and effort because nothing will ever come of it. i spent the last ~3 weeks coming up with a dc fanfic alt universe i though was cool as hell then caught myself the other day realizing this will never leave my head and never amount to anything. i hope you guys are in a better mental place about this kind of stuff but i just can't feel anything but despondent about how this is escapism from my meaningless wagie existence.

I've spent YEARS in my own head. The very first time was playing a green goblin action figure from Spider-Man 3. Calling him a different name. Giving him other powers. Eventually changing every character into something else. Even in video games I would try to create what I think a character would look like or act like. Always at school day dreaming of this world and stories. I would try drawing them. Even at work I continue daydreaming about my group of characters and stories.

It honestly makes me so pissed off that all I would have to do is find a laptop or a notebook and pencil and start writing but I know no piblisher will want to pick it up. But dammit. Its so epic and I just want to leave something behind even if its a derivative of Marvel vs DC.

i have a google doc folder full of concept documents that i start and then have only revisited a couple times if that even if i keep fleshing stuff out in my head beyond what i've written down. part of me thinks if i complete one of these projects as a novel, comic, game pitch concept, etc that would be my ticket out of my miserable life but i can't escape feeling like that's just lying to myself.

Its not just that. I know that even if I have these ideas and a world thag I feel passionate about... even if I do start writing, there won't be anything seperating me from like Chrischan and Sonichu or some Tumblr fanfic writer. They likely feel the same about their stories and no one takes them seriously. And that's not what I want. I'm not saying I deserve to be respected but I would feel better seeing a book written by me in a library than a random website for fans of Twilight or MLP.

The thing about writing is Publishers have a big hand in what gets put out. Not only will you have a b***h of a time getting your foot in the door but once you do, they'll begin requesting specific stories. And you bet your ass they'll be breathing down your neck to get them out on a deadline. Now to be fair I think the persistant monitoring and meddling mainly applies to young adult novels (for good reason) but I've heard stories about Comic Books as well.

I was a poorgay as a kid without much to do so I conjured an entire universe of original characters with Tolkien level intricacy. I don't recall having read any comics at that point, but I was loosely aware of similar media. Over time I forgot most of it since I never wrote it down. Nowadays I have the opposite issue where my creativity has diminished and I'd rather follow other people's "canon" and ideas.
        >I just want to leave something behind even if its a derivative of Marvel vs DC.
I say go for it. I've been considering getting back into a creative state of mind again and seeing what I could come up with, now through an adult lens.

Instead of Joker being Batman's nemesis, it's Killer Moth. And he's just as technologically advanced as Batman. I would have him have a team of henchmen to match with Robins. So Man-Bat, Owlman, Grey Ghost. And basically have Killer Moth get the same gravitas as Joker.
I think that would be cool.

A medieval earth where magic and science based heroes are swapped. Super Man is the reincarnation of a sun god/angel, Swamp thing is an alien from another world, Wonder woman is a super-solider from the far-future, Batman is a knight from a magical order that fights demons, etc.
A way to stretch some creative ideas and have fun. I'd say that the only caveat is that you have to stick closely to the original hero's powers as you can. Superman still Is releated to the sun, The Flash gains speed through the speed force but it's through a magical helmet, Green Lantern is uses EMS Willpower but for/through magic.

Yeah kinda like that. minus the wings though, at least for what I had in my head.
You'd follow the altered origins of each leaguer and find something new.
Constantine isn't a wizard he's a super genius who got his hands on alien tech he's figuring out, Martian Man-hunter is a Champion of Ares(Mars) and is here to capture a villian, Aquaman is a Meta-human, Deadman is stuck between here and the Phantom zone, and even the joker is different, having become an Abdul Alhazerd from lovecraft, finding the necronomicon and causing Chaos

Had an idea about a Superman/the Boys crossover AU

    >Superman is born in the Boys world
    >his origin is the same, born in Krypton, raised in Kansas etc.
    >grows up looking up to Vought heroes
    >about the same age(maybe younger?) as Homelander
    >moves to the city with the intent of becoming a Vought hero
    >quickly notices the corruption of Vought and the vanity of other heroes
    >disillusioned, decides to go independent instead while also working as a reporter

Even if he doesn't intent to antagonize them, Vought would view him as dangerous competition who could compromise their brand. Clark the reporter could also be troublesome depending on how much he decides to dig on them.
Homelander would quickly develop an inferiority complex, as Superman is not only more powerful but is also a better person than him.
Maybe the Lex Luthor in this AU would start as a friend of Clark who funds Lexcorp with the intent to rival Vought. He'd ask Superman to join him but I'm not sure if he'd accept.
Not sure how he'd interact with the Boys. I could imagine hitting it off with Hughie before he knows about the group, like in the rooftop scene in Hitman for example.

I imagine the climax of the story would be the relationship between Lex and Clark going to the shitter as a result of Lex becoming more and more corrupt, with him eventually supplying Homelander with Kryptonite weapons, becoming an actual threat to Superman. I suppose that's where the Boys come in to save the day.

An Earth-3 Red Hood and the Legion of Hope story.
    >Story follows famous Comdedian/Singer Jack Napier.
    >The Crime syndicated has taken over the world, and the heroes that tried to fight back - Like Lex - have been killed .
    >Jack has been ploting a way to take town Owlman in his Gotham before he gets contacted by a man named "Metallic". He says he's forming a group to take the the syndicate and need help from "The Red Hood" to plan it out.
    >Red Hood arrives and meets a red-haired Australian and his hero friends to make a plan.
    >Red Hood says he's not sure but he will think about it.
    >He meets his equivalent of punchline(haven't thought if a clever name maybe "Card") who joins him like a Robin(not officially that comes at the end or climax) and inspires him to act.
    >They plan it out, the Australian reveals that he's called "Metallic" because he's a man in a robot body(Metallo), and the heroes make their move.
    >It starts out fine; Ocean Man and Devil Ray fight Sea King to free Atlantis, Professor Magnesis breaks out one of the Rouges(maybe Golden glider), and Jaguar steals from the syndicate vault for the Texh and Artifacts that can help, etc.. but then something goes wrong and and the plan goes awry.
    >The climax is Red Hood needing to fight off against most of the Crime sydicate by himself.
    >He does a good job for a while, holding his own but he's then brought to the edge.
    >Jack accepts his end but the Metallic crashes in and saves him.
    >Metallic reveals that he's Lex Luthor, still alive, and taunts Ultra man, then they fight.
    >fight goes on and the syndicate call on more members, as do the heroes.
    >its hard fought, they even lost Devil Ray earlier, but our heroes win.
    >The Crime Syndicated is imprisoned, Red Hood saying something along the lines of "Death would be too quick for you, you all deserve to rot in a cell for the rest of your lives."
    >ND at the end the new heroes are celebrated and the Legion of Hope is
