While I was away, it appears that the comic's schedule has become more unpredictable as Dom suddenly went back to putting new chapters on the Webtoon app in advance of the Webtoon website. And while in the past the delay between these two postings, I believe, tended to be precisely one week down to an hour, so we at least could know in advance when a new comic would become public for everyone, this doesn't seem to be the case now. This chapter (the latest as of me writing this) first appeared on the app two weeks ago I believe, but is yet to become public on the website. And, alas, we have no way of knowing where will the next chapter appear and at what hour.

Anyway, we're back in Dupont, where Emmy, Dennis and Darcy have just returned from their day out looking for scraps. Having learned that she has damaged her uniform, the naive Nandroid is directed to seek help from Ula, whose backstory is finally touched upon. We don't learn what happened to her face, but at least we now know that she used to perform in Vegas! (Are Newburgh and Oldburgh the only two fictional locations in the US?)
The former star, however, curtly refuses to let Emmy use her sewing machine. Instead, she shows her her weapons, and suggests that Emmy gets one of her own. Of course, we know that Nandroids are already equipped with pepper spray dispensers, but perhaps those won't quite cut it on the mean streets of Dupont!
I understand some of you might have already read this strip a while ago, and I hope we will be able to get to a more predictable and sensible schedule soon. That depends on the area, middle of the road states have no restrictions on long guns but require pistol permits. Some require licenses for more than that or everything, and some don't give a frick.
This being so close to pseudo-NYC though, makes it seem like a noguns area. How well that's enforced in Dupont though, if at all, remains to be seen. It's probably not if Ula can get away with brandishing one. I wonder if she's ever actually had to use her defenses.

That shit is so old it counts as a collectable relic. Even if it was in good condition and wasn't clearly a rusty, gun shaped grenade it wouldn't be able to kill anybody unless you put the gun directly on their skin and even then it would not be an instant kill, at best she goes for the head and causes severe brain damage, at worst she shoots you in the stomach and it takes you up to a week to bleed out if you don't get medical attention (which in Dupoint seems unlikely)
I wouldn't put it past her to spend hours meticulously taking it apart and cleaning it, applying gun oil and polishing the barrel. What else is she doing in the afternoon?

Generally speaking it isn't the actual lethality of a firearm that determines it's effectiveness as a deterrent. Criminals tend not to be very bright, but they do still possess a desire for self preservation, they aren't going to be calculating "oh yeah I can probably tank a shot from a .22 and still kidnap this robot for spare parts" they'd probably just be thinking "oh shit that's a gun I don't want to get shot".
Criminals tend to prey on those who are alone, unaware of danger, and unarmed, because that's the safest way to operate.
You have no idea what you're talking about. Derringers are still manufactured today in a wide range of pistol calibers and are perfectly capable of delivering lethal doses of lead and copper at close range. And no, .22 caliber rounds - which the derringer that Ula is using is probably NOT chambered in, given its heft - are not going to struggle to pierce paper; .22 caliber rounds can be potentially lethal out to around a mile, under ideal circumstances. So, even fired out of a very short barrel, at its intended range of about 10-20 yards a derringer chambered in .22 LR will have no trouble penetrating human flesh and bone.
These myths about the effectiveness of various calibers are going to get someone seriously hurt or killed one day.

It generates about as much pressure as any other snub nosed handgun. Smaller calibers like .22 will have difficulties with bone because of this, but can still be lethal. The issue is solved almost entirely if you step up to the .3 inch range of calibers like .38 or .357, which are common chamberings for pocket pistols. Even out of a snub nosed barrel, .38 and .357 will wreak havoc on a chest cavity, breaking through ribs and causing extreme organ damage.
If I had to guess, I'd say that Ula's is in some thirty or forty caliber chambering given its size. It would be effective, in that case.
I wonder how lethal a headshot is for a robot? I suppose it depends on the design, Emmy has goop up there but does Doc? His central processor might be in his midsection for all we know.

I'd say it depend on the design, but that raise another question;
Is it lethal or "temporarily" lethal? If you knock out something important but replaceable, the 'bot is "dead" up until someone replace the part, but some other things would permanently put the robot out of commission (if you destroy whatever hold their memories/personality, replacing it would basically be a new robot so you effectively kill the original)

Clip Studio Paint's stock models, you can get a ton of poses in the store for free. I don't use them because you actually need to be good to pull it off but you start seeing them everywhere after a while, especially in webtoons.

as documented the hands are screwed on with threaded holes. As for the head that is what I fear the most, if plan A fails I will have to look into plan B
Measure twice, thrice even, cut once. Be sure of what you want before you commit, you've put a lot of effort in so far so you may as well do it right. 3d printing may be an option if you can find a good set of hands, an .stl can be sliced at whatever scale you need.
the arms is funnily enough the thing I would worry the least about when it comes to making measurement mistakes/messups, it´s simple standard 12 mm thread with PP piping slid over like a sleeve. I still have enough piping for 3 more pairs of arms minimum

Probably too late to fix, but you should've hollowed the joint areas a bit so the legs could be closer to the torso. The anatomy chart has them connecting to sockets like human legs, but yours are floating outside the torso.
not at all too late to fix, I could easily hollow in two bowl cuts with a flap disc and flapwheel disc, issue is just the torso is hollow so I´d have to cut out a large hole and have it filled out with epoxy to give material to carve out, taking about 1 week more to complete which I might do now.
I had prepared bloomers and a bra for Emmy´s custom uniform along with getting her maid dress worked on by a tailor, but it seems I gotta add a night gown undershirt to the mix as well
