I haven't seen this in a hot minute
It was banned from Cinemaphile for like four years because the characters are animals.
That's moronic. What's next, no more Emmy the Robot threads cause she's mecha? No KSBD threads cause it holds more with /tg/ than Cinemaphile? Fricks sake mods.
The furry ban, at least originally, had excellent reasons. /tg/ and robo-frickers aren't a problem.
Oh cool endtown is still a thing, maybe I should check it out ag-
>marx is still a thing
Ok nevermind
I thought interest here just died after the shitshow of the unity arc
>>marx is still a thing
I actually find him interesting in this arc.
Didn't they ban it specifically because people were lusting after the animals?
How is that difference than lusting after some xeno?
It was banned because it went so far up its own butthole it turned into a mobius strip. It's been like five years since the Eden arc started and I don't think there's a single person who could even tell you what the actual frick is going on with the story anymore. It's unrecognizable.
If topics got banned for the quality of the work being discussed, Cinemaphile would have been closed in 2011.
A furry ban never made sense for a board discussing a medium dominated and historically always including talking animals. The fact Loony Tunes and Donald/Goofy/Mickey threads are allowed because of their historical relevance should make it obvious.
while we are on the subject, I might as well show this Work in progress from that other comic that isn't Endtown. It should normally be considered spoiler, but not anymore as established by this new tweeter post screencaped and pasted right bellow.
Hoping to see the big lizard lady soon.
(never realised before she was meant to be blonde, maybe Wally has a type?)
For some reason I always assumed Kirbee was black before being transformed and that Neathery was a based jungle fever bro. Guess not.
Black people usually don't have straight hairs like this unlike they iron it out, though.
I think the 60's clothed helped mistake her a s black. Since there was a retro-cool thing going on with black people wearing 1960s style clothes. This ignored that white people, and spaced out white people like Kirby, also wore those sorts of clothes.
I haven't read this since that raccoon said he was God. Anything cool happen since then?
All the Lizards died from a big case of stupid trying to fume God, including the newly transformed topsider one, and only the weed-head blonde Lizard girl and little chicken escaped with Wally.
Later they somehow ended up in a new underground town where things seemed okay at first, but way bigger and catastrophic troubles where brewing. We are currently seeing the conclusion of that arc.
It's not arbitrary. Or, individual judgements may have been arbitrary, but you're fooling yourself if you don't think furry culture is a thing. Same deal as ponygays, it's not the level of degeneracy it's how active they are.
>but you're fooling yourself if you don't think furry culture is a thing
I am not saying it's not a thing, I am saying there are plenty of culture that are accepted here that are as degenerate, or even more. Single out furries is what was arbitrary.
>it's not the level of degeneracy it's how active they are
It is arbritary, some things get hit harder than others. Oop is deleted on sight anywhere, while bittersweet candybowl aka furry romance drama the comic, gets as many threads as it wants.
OOP is a fetish comic with pretensions of respectability, bad example.
Yes, but no. It can be perfectly enjoyed buly anyone not into the authors kink and has its very own plot so it should by all means be allowed to be talked about given sfw threads.
Furthermore anything can be a fetish. Should endtown be banned because its tf themes are some peoples fetish? Should bittersweet candybowl because furries on its own are some's fetish?
It has never pretended to be respectable. It just that it's well written.
>It was banned because it went so far up its own butthole it turned into a mobius strip.
There activities is not significantly that strong. Far bellow barney in its worse day (which was just contained in one general containment thread when it was still allowed on Cinemaphile).
Hating on Furries is something inherited from SA, it's as simple as that.
>Hating on Furries is something inherited from SA, it's as simple as that.
It's impossible to cohabit a website with a large number of furries, simple as that. They grow too numerous and too uwu. Is the pruning consistently applied? No. Is the pruning still necessary? Debatable. Was it ever necessary? 100%. The equivalent, if you want something that isn't banned, would be political speech and look where that fricking got us.
>It's impossible to cohabit a website with a large number of furries, simple as that.
You have studies to prove that? You are just parroting opinions you have heard to justify the ban. Once again, there is already plenty of degenerate stuffs on Cinemaphile. and nothing indicate they are less active than furries.
There's a reason stuff like /mlp/ needed a containment board.
Furries like to cry oppression but the frickers are pretty damn obnoxious about pushing their one love in life, even compared to regular sperg anons.
So my post get being deleted, but basically the people what started the anti-furry thing lied about the real reason they were doing this.
That reason was because the sight of a ponie sent anons into a fit of rage which made it perfect bait material. Which led to spam
It's a self-perpetuating cycle:
Furry spam pisses people off
Furries spam more to troll people
The question of which came first, the chicken or egg, the spam or the anger, is irrelevant at this point.
It's my own opinion based on my own observations. Are you perhaps a furry, and sensitive about it? Not like those other c**ts, perhaps? Good for you, the age of virulent furries might well be past anyway, if you're a teenaged catfricker I don't hold it against you.
Consider this: every argument regarding the detriment that furries had on the site applies equally to /misc/.
We're agreed then.
>bittersweet candybowl aka furry romance drama the comic, gets as many threads as it wants.
Shut the frick up. BCB loving furry homosexual
This goddamn terrible furry comic with its self-insert Dr Who ripoff isn't over yet?
Nope.
What the hell is OOP?
Out of placers, also known as valsalia, a story about people living pseudo-medieval/renaissance society in a multi sentient species setting, more alien than fantastic. You could argue one of its influences was Terry Pratchett.
You can start reading it here: https://www.valsalia.com/comic/prologue/01/
Oh that fetish shit, specifically gender-bending transformation.
The chief conceit is that the human male protagonist gets turned into a female kobold, I think it would have been only fair for you to tell him that.
Dude, spoiler.
That's not a spoiler you homosexual.
You could argue that the prologue is written to have the TF scene take the reader by surprise, if that reader in question start reading it from the first page with no context.
fun fact: Termiantor 2 is shoot and set so that someone watching it for the first time (after having seen Terminator 1) will be lead to believe that the villain is Schwarzy and the good guy is the police officer. The scene where the t-900 use his shotgun to start shooting the T-1000 instead of Connor is meant to be a big surprise for the audience who wouldn't suspect the police officer is actually a robot too made of liquid metal, something that is never shown before that point.
But the promo of the movie always presented shwarzy as being the good guy this time, so no one noticed the intended plot twist.
...there were no t-900's until Rise Of The Machines.
I meant t-800, my bad. My point remains, though.
Out of placers. Comic that started as a the authors tf fetish comic, but also evolved its own nonporn plot, updates 2 times a month without drama that im aware of.
Jannies hate it, even talking in passing about it can get a post deleted.
Not everyone who replies to you is the same person.
Never pretended so.
>It's my own opinion based on my own observations
So worthless, got it.
Well frick me, I forgot to study up for the great 2023 furry debate, next I'll be forgetting my pants. I'm telling you something that you'll frankly have to go a long way to find someone in disagreement with, "frick the jannies" on the other hand being a sentiment everyone can get behind.
>I'm telling you something
That I have heard a million time but never witnessed. Anon here
get it:the worse we got is spamming by trolls who enjoy to get a rise out of others.
I think one of the reasons those thread go down the drainers is because people will talk and complain about the banning instead of discussing the comic. Complaining about mods usually increase the chance of the thread getting deleted.
Marx seems a bit out of tricks at the moment. Is he leaving Wally to solve it, or is he leaving Wally so that he, Marx, can solve it?
A world ending reality knot seems like the sort of thing that Marx would want solved, if only to keep the dimensional area free of 'repairmen.'
I would say the former, since he went out of his way to revive Wally from being, well, dead.
Does anyone on Cinemaphile know about Endtown’s fancomic Topside Tales?
>Typhoid Mary
Doesn't that make him a mutant too?
Typhoid Marys aren’t mutants.
Topsiders consider that they are.
Don’t they consider them ‘infected’ by the virus that isn’t a virus but asymptomatic of it?
Immunity is considered a mutation too.
I dropped the main comic a while ago, and reading this one I think its a better successor. So far enjoying the main character’s trauma and adjusting to life down below among the other mutants. Also the topsiders story is pretty good, makes some of them less sinister (for now) than in the actual comic. It’s great considering its a dedicated fan-comic of all things.
>makes some of them less sinister (for now) than in the actual comic
The current arc of Aaron's comic actually has a group of topsiders trying to save the mutants, as they have understood humanity is doomed and the anthros are the closest thing to humanity that has a change to survive.
I think they might mean literally since Topside Tales shows the Topsiders how they see each other via VR. Topsiders in Endtown are never that humanized so it makes them in TT seem less sinister since they’re more visibly human to the audience.
>. Topsiders in Endtown are never that humanized
Again, the current arc actually does that, to some level.
Reading comprehension.
>I think they might mean literally since Topside Tales shows the Topsiders how they see each other via VR. Topsiders in Endtown are never that humanized
"Literally" as in the literal definition of humanization, seeing something as human. Topside Tales physically shows the Topsiders as human via the VR framing device. Endtown's never showed a Topsider's realized reality to them with their human faces. Even in Flask's flashback they're silhouettes, reflecting her disdain for the fantasy and lie they're living in pretending things are normal. Amesworth when her face was briefly shown was a bloated corpse looking horror under the mask, and the Topsider base despite having all that technology to project the Topsiders VR rendered faces for the anthro characters to finally see on communication screens or literally following their POV in certain moments they still remained rendered in their inhuman and sinister looking masks.
>see endtown thread
>Slight glimmer of curiosity about what's been going on since last I looked
>"Marx"
It's okay, he just left.
>left cause marx makes my blood boil
>he's still here
never in my life have i despise a fiction character
I really don't get the hate for the guy.
He just left the story now and, to be fair, he only intervened at a point where reality itself was falling apart. I consider it's a circumstance that make this kind of character acceptable.
Unfortunately he never is going to go away. The last few months alone have been nothing but his bullshit and even if he’s leaving now he’ll just show up again later to do even more bullshit.
I've never bothered to get into this comic because people shitpost about how bad it gets so it puts me off. Can someone spoil me with a summary? Why do people like it?
I still like it, IMO. Marx is much more ignorable than people complain about. Imagine Tom Bombadil being a bit more involved but not that much.
As for the story, it's post apocalyptic world, the only survivors are people turned into anthro animals, mindless monstrous mutants some humans immune to the disease that transform people and a bunch of human-supremacists survivors in Hazmat suit who have set themselves to kill all anthros, mutant and immune humans.
A lot of ths tory focus on Endtown, a very well perpped underground secret town inhabited by the antrhos an immune humans who raid outside for resources and informations and who mostly die of stupid and being stupid with each other. and how they acclimate to now being anthro animals.
Initially it’s about people trying to survive in a post apocalyptic wasteland following WW3 and a mysterious affliction that turns people into either small anthro critters or giant toothy monsters. The main antagonists were the suited humans who were genociding all the anthros and immune humans to end the mutation epidemic and create a eugenic society. The main characters cope with the new circumstances of their lives and in time come to accept their new normals and make the best of things even as the world worsens around them and try to survive.
Then Marx showed up and so did the multiverse toon crap.
It's a standard post-apocalyptic setting, mutants vs humans. But the humans are permanently in rubber suits and the mutants are Bubs and Daffy style animals.
As the story goes on it's discovered that reality itself is broken and there's a multiverse. None of the major reasons are satisfactorily explained. And that is why people hate Marx. He's a character who stumbled into the reason why, and used it to make himself Dr Who. He is who could have satisfactorily explained it by now. But since the comic is lacking that forehead-slap moment is why some readers take it out on Marx.
Rereading the Sparkplug arc, it's really some good shit.
Recent comics still manage to nail a good one from time to time, imo.
For those curious, it turns out that Holly and Wally we crossed with cartoon characters who kind of had a tom&Jerry shtick in their own cardoodles universe.
Wait so they're not actually just furryfying with a toon aesthetic but actually merging with a cartoon universe?
That reminds me of that surprisingly dark Snidely Whiplash comic
I wouldn't say "universe" but human people are merging with characters from a cartoon universe (or get merged with copies of characters from that cartoon universe)
It kind of bug me of that Wally no longer identify with having 5 fingers on each hands, after being brought back to live. Make it feel like a part of him is really dead.
Is there a different place where Aaron post his comic, or does he have some sort of deal with Gocomic? The site is terribly limiting in the size it accept making sometimes hi comic unreadable.
I heard patreon supporters actually can get the comic in legible size. Also sometimes someone in /trash/ gets their hands on a legible strips, like the aftermath of the Eye confrontation and the comic where there was the brief look at the world with those two armies on the battlefield.
He's gotta realize how annoying that character is
Aaron probably does, but its likely that he doesn’t care. Marx touches on his boomer taste of vintage Doctor Who and Q from Star Trek but manifested in the worst way possible.
The fact he created such an omnipotent self-insert character that is so important to the story shows what little scruples he has as a writer to begin with.
He is not annoying to me.
Meh
bump
Yes?
