I liked Ben X Kai in one episode only, an american benwolf in london, their dynamic was actually pretty solid in that one and everything after that was unbearably forced and annoying.
Yeah, I don't get why they couldn't come up with a new future. In the original Ben 10 000 version, Kevin was a bad guy who knocked up some random lady. By them saying this was just Kevin going insane once again, you either have Gwen be cucked and raising devlin, if not cheated on if they never broke up.

That episode also introduced the idea of crosstime, so it's not like they couldn't explain away in the same episode that it was one of the multiple ways the timeline can lead to.
Also ultimate Ben sucked since it was literally just the same but with their powers, no alien transformation. Fusions at least felt more ben-like in character.
I like the interpretation of magic-user Ben where he uses his inborn potential to brute force spells, thereby creating nonsensical magic that becomes even more effective against other magic users because its structure makes zero sense.
Shirou is stated to be much worse than his latent potential.

It's just sad because UAF felt like it was setting her up for a redemption, gave her a sad backstory and even failing her goal, but then OV doubled down on her being an unrepentant villain.

A Gwen spin-off could work but it might need to splice in some Gwen 10 stuff for marketing. Charmcaster would honestly be a more interesting reformed villain than Kevin.

To be fair though she was a lot more fun in Omniverse. But yeah Omniverse took a lot of weird steps and retcons that I really didn't like.
