We see Vic Mackey driving the truck at the end of SOA. Is it therefore safe to assume that the shield and SOA share the same universe?
Perhaps the shield can be considered an associate member of the MC subgenre.
Yes, I think that's a reasonable assumption. Additionally, I think that it's possible that the upcoming SoA series will reveal that Vic helped Jax enter witness protection and that what we see at the end of SoA is merely the legend that sprung up around Jax's supposed death. Wouldn't be shocking to see that additional layer of metacommentary from Sutter.
Yeah like frick I’m happy I watched it but that scene with T’s daughter getting Poped and Leela getting raped really was brutal. Even all the horrible shit which is justified like Tig drowning that rapist/porn producer in a bathtub of piss was intense. Actually I’m going to go rewatch that series. Also SOA and IASIP prove that a season in Ireland is always a shit idea
Honestly, I wouldn't mind it. Could be good cross promotion. There's a spiritual sequel to American MC coming out, so might as well lean into the resurgence for actual motorcycle club (MC) content.
this is just misery porn. I remember feeling genuine disgust watching it as a teenager
How is it misery porn until S6? There are far fewer deaths than Game of Thrones and noone important really starts dying until then. Afterwards it definitely is.
Correct

S1-S4 were great, S5 was decent.
>get to have your wife get soundtrack revenue >also get successful metacommentary
honestly, can't fault Sutter for it. And sometimes the music montages were great.
It may have been in Ireland and maybe even diversionary or corny in some parts. What I will say is that at least it was MC content. That's a lot more than you can say for a lot of stuff that comes out nowadays.
I have known real bikers since I was a kid. most are fat like bobby and bitter like clay. the women are not attractive, and the odd hot pixie girl that wants to piss off daddy usually gets an STD from fricking them all or a beat down for trying to steal blokes from their regular gash.
I love bikes but the "gang" culture is pathetic.
I remember enjoying the first season, then enjoying it less and less as it went on. I think I stopped sometime in s05. The Shield is my favorite show, so I was really looking forward to this one. But I seem to remember it becoming too melodramatic. I may give it another shot

Digits, but no. You can't have the highs if you don't have the lows.
And it was digits in the MC content thread I should add.
the first episode is really bad at sucking you in tho, it took me a few to get hooked
What about it didn't pull you in?

Yes they share the same universe, one of the black gangs in the shield is also in SOA

Only one incidence of digits so far. Kinda low for an MC or MC adjacent content thread to be honest.
There's the digits.
Baker cameo in the upcoming SoA film/tv sequel, yes or no?

Overstayed its welcome. 4 seasons was enough.
That was forced on Sutter. FX had to get more out of their hit, their big success at the height of The Golden Era of TV.
I'd almost like to see them take the upcoming sequel in a cyberpunk direction.
Season 1 is really cringey with all this forced drama.
Season 2 was great but I never bothered to watch on.
This show was really corny
Sorry, this was autocorrect. I meant to write 'comfy.'
You aren't me, the show was corny as frick
the non stop musical montages were unbearable cringe
Correct

That season was 1or 2 episodes too long. Great ending though.
Are these the average ratings?
IMDB ratings
Complete MC content victory.
I loved the first couple of seasons but it went a little long

All gang culture is bad. Its a losers game.
Yeah they’re not nearly as clever or good looking irl

Posting in an MC content thread
At the end of season 4 when Jax sits on the table as the leader, that's when it should've ended
i remember my mom watching this alot growing up is it worth a watch after i finish the wire?
No. Watch Gommorah. Way better gang show.
