I honestly anticipated something much worse given the preview given on youtube and it's nauseating camera style. In a way this was surprisingly slick with an intro and a nicely done outro transition (and not as short as I thought). That said, the other 9(?) episodes are probably gonna dip massively in quality or will be really really long.

they really could have just put the trailer video they made before and stuck that at the start of this to explain the basic premise again. there was very little in the way to build up Sam/Jason Goldstriker, who just shows up. obviously, Fishtank watchers and MDE fans who might watch the edited episodes but skipped out on the livestream are already gonna know and get him and his role, but for people outside that circle, it's just kind of weird.
they show the first challenge of counting rice, and don't even show the results of it or even explicitly say that Sylvia won it, it just cuts to Sam counting the money on the table and you kind of see her holding the money later, I only know she won the challenge because I had already seen it live.
and considering the effort thats gone into the website and its UI and such, i was surprised at how the episode completely lacked in visual flair outside of the animated intro. actually editing it more like a proper reality show, like having on-screen tallys of their fishbucks or some shit, could have benefited it really, but Sam's irony-poisoned zoomer underlings wouldn't want to admit that (as well as being too much effort)
