I haven't watched the new season yet, but didn't the old final end in a time loop? How do they get out of that?
Really? I found it boring. All 3 episodes that is.
Eh i didnt like Episodes 1&2 so much but episode 3 was fun atleast and the voice acting sounded a lot better overall. The bitcoin stuff was far too current year though they should have invented some new futuristic version of it atleast.
They just decided that it didnt anymore and carried the show on
Wasn't half good either. They shouldn't have paid benders VA more. Not seeing the added value
Didn't he cave and end up settling for the original offer after they started looking for a replacement?
Don't know the whole details behind that but John DiMaggio gets first billing in the end credits now.
It was shit
It was a cluster frick. Way too much going on without spending enough time on any of it
Yeah thats been an issue with all 3 episodes so far i think, Every scene feels rushed just so they can move onto the next one instead of letting anything breathe.
I was expecting them to have some kinda real payoff for the metal they were looking for to pay off the robot mafia, but their problem resolved itself without any of their input and wasn't even acknowledged in any way. Just feels bizzare how these 3 episodes were written, very safe and without much going on as far as jokes.
I'm half joking when I say this, every opinion on this new season should be prefaced with the amount of time in years it has been for each anon since they've watched the previous seasons.
Because it's pretty on par for the course. If you're not liking it now you probably misremembered how the old show felt in the year it was released. How much have you aged?
Just how long ago do you think they wrote these episodes anyways? Haven't watched futurama since the last season was current
I last watched the previous seasons like 6 months ago, and this episode was a fricking mess. The kiff babies episode was fine, the first episode was shit but that's to be expected for a mandatory Hulu shill episode they were contractually obligated to make
>Its just as le good as it ever was
Paid shill
They don't even bother pretending it's set in the future anymore by comically extrapolating and exaggerating, it's literally just modern day with robots. Ep1 was ok but the others were a snoozefest.
yeah i was surprised they straight up called it Bitcoin it even felt like a complete afterthought in the episode itself essentially only being used to start the plot and justify why everyone is looking like the Wild West, the episode felt very lazy, and i just ended up wondering why they didn't mine some Asteroids to get the materials they needed to make Chips in the first place Space Western is a super common sub genre
Cryptocurrency is something they should never have touched: a classic example of a topical issue at time of writing that by time of release is dated. The Western setting was just wasted potential.
>Napster is something they should never have touched: a classic example of a topical issue at the time of writing that by time of release is dated. The robot waifu plot was just wasted potential.
Napster to Kidnapster was at least a good pun even if your not aware of Napster, CryptoCurrency didn't even matter to plot beyond making planet express broke
>Episode 3 wasnt actually half bad
It was only about 1/5th bad. Why did we need that shit with Hermes and Dwight again? Can somebody explain that to me? Is every episode going to have the writers-who-are-now-patents working through weird modern nontraditional family issues?
Something is sorely missing, it's lacking any punch, it feels like something I'd just watch mindlessly
Reviving the show for episodes like this just doesn't feel necessary
Wait it's out already?
Frick those binge releases you never fricking know when they even happen.
arent binge releases where they drop a whole season at once?
Well yeah, technically. Only realize it now reading the thread that anons are only talking about the first three episodes, so it's a batch release. I don't like them either though, I feel like series always need a few weeks of weekly content till people start talking about them. Batch releases always get one or two thread after the dumping and then everybody has already forgotten it exists before they release the next part (that they usually don't even announce before so you stop checking).
Its not a batch release dumb dumb its 1 episode a week and the first episode came out 3 weeks ago
Well okay forgot what I said then.
Totally missed the threads in that case (and I don't have hulu). Guess it's just that nobody cares then, or that nobody has hulu. Even as someone that loved Futurama I am not too eager to watch it. Maybe next week or so.
Felt like they should have come up with a new sci-fi comedy instead. Though looking at disenchantment I am not sure if Groening is still able to create new things that are fun.
There's been at least one thread going since before the first episode dropped
They're not named Futurama Discussion thread but it's been a pretty constant stream of discussion and mostly ineffectual b***hing
Ep 3 was the worst one, but still better than the CC era first season.
The best thing in this season is that Fry&Leela and Amy&the alien are still dating
