Everyone who hates on Batman acts like he just goes around beating up homeless people and never saves the city from genocidal maniacs. Why? Cause their retareded and limited view of the world have blinded them to how fantasy works.

Lex Luthor - Man of Steel did what I always figured should happen. Super breath disposes of Kryptonite before it's even close enough.

That makes sense if you're dumb enough to brandish it when Superman is too far away to even be affected by it, but most of the time Kryptonite users keep it hidden on their person or on them such a way that it can't be easily removed (e.g. Lez's kryptonite ring)

I get that, but he has x-ray and telescopic vision. Any time he'd be approaching a criminal or villain he'd have scanned them over already. Oh shit, they have a lead container that I can't see inside? Assume it's got Kryptonite and dispose of it.

But let's not also forget that Kryptonite projectiles and so forth exist
              >that Superman should be more than fast enough to dodge/avoid the AoE of
At some point or another you have to contrive an explanation for how the guy continuously allows himself to get affected by Kryptonite to keep things interesting in his stories.

superman is explicitly faster than a speeding bullet
simply putting kryptonite in a human handgun is just going to result in him dodging

metallo firing a kryptonite bullet at superman makes more sense, he can just shoot it faster than even superman can react
but lex using a normal gun requires some justification like the kryptonite being encased in lead

From what I remember, Hush did it decently as well. Overall Batman "winning" against Superman should be Batman surviving long enough to achieve a goal while showing that there is no normal way for him to beat superman in a straight fight.

Funny how everyone and their mother tries to copy TDKR, yet they never, ever actually pay attention to how that fight happened or why.
They see Batman beating up Superman because kryptonite and that's it.

the issue with hating most heroes, in-universe or out, or God for that matter, is you should be hating the villains. it's bizarre how easily people are able to push blame from those responsible for problems, to those who "could have stopped it"
do you really want batman swooping in and just executing people on the spot? there's a reason we have a system. the system's job is to execute those people after a thorough investigation.

if the system is suffering then god is, logically, responsible for everything that happens within the system

I didn't say TRUST the system. If you trust the system, the system will say "phew, I don't have to do anything"
I'm saying force the system to do our bidding. we paid for it, we own it, it works for us.
        >god is responsible bloo bloo
no, you are. Anon, are you responsible for starvation in africa just because you don't send them all your money? or are you aware that you would not be fixing the problem simply by fixing their immediate needs. there is no way other than taking over and running things (which.. okay, in the case of africa, we should be) to change something that is the responsibility of the people comprising it.

By that logic, Batman should put all his ridiculous wealth towards pressuring the state into giving Joker and other villians are reasonable punishment (i.e. death sentence). Or buy the fricking Arkham Asylum and make it into an actual mental health institution that helps people.
Which he would do - if comics were allowed to break the status quo. But since they aren't, every storyline pretends like "just force the system to work" is not an option at all, therefore blaming Batman for not killing every villian he comes across.

Because they don't care about fantasy, they care about fiction as social commentary/propaganda. Which is arguably the "adult" way to engage with these stories and a consequence of them being advertised as gritty and realistic. A Bond villain like R'As Al Ghul doesn't represent much in terms of relevant real-world threats, so they ignore the existence of guys like him entirely.

      >do you really want batman swooping in and just executing people on the spot?
Yes people want to do that if it's people they personally don't like.

    >ras al ghul: cult leader with worldwide assets
    >ruper thorne: CEO
    >falcones, marones, etc: organized crime

I think it's just people applying the idea of a masked vigilante to real life. Supervillains generally aren't real, so the only people Batman would really be fighting by patrolling the street at night are petty criminals. Sure, occasionally he might save someone from the occasional rapist or violent mugger, but a lot of the people he'd be fighting would be people down on their luck just trying to survive, or mentally ill/drug addicted homeless people who clearly need help to get their life in order that beating them up and throwing sharp objects at them wouldn't accompish.
So yeah, in the context of a fantasy story with actual villains he can fight, it's a pretty moronic complaint. It mostly functions to critique irl vigilantism using Batman as a convenient reference.

Not if you're a mentally ill homeless person it wouldn't, it'd probably just make them more mentally ill and violent in response.

If people aren't already afraid of getting gunned down by the cops or anyone else before they commit a crime, I doubt they'd care if some weirdo in a costume beats them up. It's what makes the mythos of Batman not work. If the threat of death or life in prison doesn't scare them off from crime already, why would Batman?

I hate him because for a supposedly normal human his moronic fans unironically believe he is some kind of god that can solve any problem with prep time.
The superman Vs Batman debate is just a easy example of this. For Batman having to fight Superman should be the absolute worst case scenario, something that if he wins it should be by the skin of his teeth.

But moronic Batgays think he is a psychopath who is always thinking on new ways of killing his friends and family, so Batman would always win against any superhero no diff.

batman was originally a guy with gadgets at the start. thats why he was a rich man and it made sense. it made him cool. the idea that he has a gadget for most situations is funny but its a comic book, if hes meant to be an inspector gadget character/street fighter champion so what. its just comics. the most popular guy always wins because the fans want it that way. a regular hood or a demigod could kill batman but they wont.

batman is great at saving innocents from muggers, stopping organized crime, and keeping the supervillains at bay. pretending like a ninja detective is going to stop crime wholesale is moronic, its like saying the swat should be able to wipe out crime in a matter of time. crime is too widespread and prevalent to change it, and wayne isnt rich enough to change the entire city. I dont care if his family were doctors who owned a billion dollar tech company or whatever, elon musk cant do shit either but make halfway decent hybrid cars.

Batman works from both ends to fight crime: he beats the shit out of drug dealers and works his way up to their bosses. He takes out crime families and terrorists, all that shit, and he does it while working with Gordon.
Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne is creating jobs and funding social programs. A thief in the night is stealing so he can feed his family, or joins up with a gang for the same reason. So, again working with the police commissioner, he removes that need or gives those people other options.
And it fricking worked. Batman WON the war on crime. He beat the crime families. The only ones left are the super-crooks and low-level gangsters, which are always going to be around in some form or another.

      >The only ones left are the super-crooks and low-level gangsters
And secret societes, but those have infinite money, resources, thugs and people willing to work for them. And always return, so in a way they are just a multi-person version of a supervillian.
