The show actually helped me somewhat, I was having a rough time and I was becoming a shitty person, and seeing some of myself in the character helped me spur myself into changing.
I know it's pretty cringe, but in the end I'm better for it

It was funny for a few seasons, but mostly because of other likeable characters, like Todd. Bojack itself is shit, save for a few scenes.

Unironically perhaps the best show ever. When I was at my most depressed it helped me feel seen and laugh at myself and pick myself up and keep going.

Depression and spiraling can seem like fun for a while, until it’s not.

Bojack was a great show. I owe it a lot. Also, frick Netflix for robbing us of a season 7 where we would have seen Bojack finally read his dad’s book - and I’m guessing the book ended up legit being amazing, and Bojack goes on a quest to get it greenlit.

I didn't watch the show past season 2 but didn't it end with Bojack either dying or going to prison forever?

I dont know but you may have missed out as the season 3 finales are great, and the show in general gets better as it goes on

I think the quality dropped a lot at end and the last season is shit and unimaginative. If they made made a 7th season, it would be pretty bad.

The first season is one of the best ones, it loses something after that, but the show still improves overtime after season 2, until some point.

Well, he’s sober in that season. The tone shifted to match. I thought season 6 was better than 5. 5 plodded along and felt like it was going nowhere for so long.

Its not just Bojack, but I disliked of the whole sarah lynn death drama, hated pickles, all characters become boring and then we have some stupid shit, like when Diane talks with this woman that wants to take down the White Whale, she talks just ahab and even has one eye patch, and she goes on and on, overstaying her welcome, "just look at me, I am a reference to that famous book character lolololol", not subtle at all, this is just cringe, this is how low the show becomes at certain points.

No, the show ends with Bojack having to realize he won’t get some epic ending, nor will the people he’s harmed forgive him, and the world won’t even entirely hold him accountable.

It’s the most realistic ending imaginable - Bojack has to come to terms with reality, in all it’s flawed glory.

I watched a couple of scenes. The amount of self-pity is too much for me.

I do a pretty good Will Arnett and my ex girlfriend absolutely loved it, her face would light up every time and she had the cutest smile and laugh.
Now watching anything Will Arnett makes me think of her and makes me depressed.
Good show though, her favorite character was Mr. Peanutbutter.

Bojack was a monster. When you watch the show through the perspective of him as an antagonist it goes from a 3/10 to a 6/10
